Emealide smiled as she finished backing the rest of her room, "That depends, is there room in the house for any of this? Do we need any of it? As long as we can take the bookcase, nightstand, and my crystal lamp, I'll be happy. All were gifts from either my deceased grandmother, my father, or my favorite Uncle."
"Of course, love. Though we'll have to come back for the furniture, I'm not sure if we'd be able to carry it." Marreck smiled shyly as he picked up her suitcases with one in each hand.
Knocking on the door, Locale called, "Em? You guys just about finished?"
"Yes Father, we've only just finished," Emelaide said as she opened the door. "Good, that way the carriage won't have to wait long. I sent for one due to not know if you needed any furniture moved or if you were only taking suitcases. But I figured either way, it would be too much to carry and would be much faster with a carriage. It's already paid for, so don't you worry," he added with a smile as he hugged his daughter, "I love you Emelaide, your mother and I are very glad that you've found a man to make you happy." Placing a kiss upon her forehead he added softly, "Your mother and I are needed back at the Palace, we'll see you soon alright?" With that, he nodded a goodbye to Marreck before heading out of the house with his wife and heading towards the Palace. Emelaide blushed as she looked back at Marreck, "Guess that problem's solved, huh. But are you sure it's alright to bring those three things? Is there room in the house? I don't want it to be a hassle or a burden.." |
"Em." Marreck chided as he set the suitcases down and wrapped his arms around Emelaide. "This is our house. You can bring anything you wish." He assured her, placing a kiss on her forehead.
"Are you sure? 'cause they can always stay here if there's no room.. Are you sure you won't mind my strange crystal furniture in the house?" asked Emelaide hesitantly.
"Em." Marreck laughed quietly. "You're going to be living there. I want you there and that includes whatever furniture you bring. Its fine." Marreck assured her, giving her a last kiss before picking up her suitcases again and bringing them to carriage outside.
Sighing, Emelaide pushed her fears, that now seemed quite silly, aside and picked up the remaining few suitcases. Bringing them to the carriage, she smiled at the man and explained the pieces of furniture she wished to bring. Going inside with him, Emelaide took the lamp and asked if the man could bring them now or if he had to come back for them. After their exchanges, Emelaide went back outside, carrying the lamp, and placed a kiss on Marreck's cheek, "Collin said he'll be able to bring the nightstand this trip but will come back for the bookcase without extra charge for the trip. You ready to go home?" she inquired happily as she opened the carriage door and Collin emerged from the house carrying the nightstand.
"Of course." Marreck smiled as he ushered Emelaide into the carriage before sliding into the seat bside her. "I love you." He said softly, kissing her temple gently. "And I still can't believe that you've chosen to spend your life with me despite when you tried to throw me out." He winked at her.
Emelaide laughed as she placed a long, tender kiss upon his lips, "I love you, Marreck. I'm not going anywhere, dearest, so get used to having me around forever. I may throw you out, but you know very well you'll always be able to come back after I've calmed down. And really, is it my fault if my father is intimidating and I was afraid he scared you off? How was I to know you were talking about a proposal? That was the last thing I was expecting," she admitted before placing another tender kiss upon his lips.
"Well at least you were surprised. That's one of the things I had planned." Marreck smiled. "Though I did have a romantic scene of me getting on one knee and popping open the ring box. But I guess you wouldn't be you if it was a traditional proposal." Marreck teased before returning her kiss.
Emelaide rolled her eyes playfully as she turned away from him, "Am I really that strange Marreck? I'm sorry I ruined your plan... it honestly wasn't my intention.."
"As long as I get to marry you then I won't hold the proposal against you." Marreck teased as he placed his arms to wrap around her waist before meeting on her stomach. "I'll still love you. Even with all your strangeness." He teased lightly.
Leaning back against him, Emelaide smiled as she said softly, "I'm glad. I love you, Marreck, with all my heart. You don't know how honored I am and how lucky I feel, knowing that you love me, want to marry me, and wish to have children some day. I'm truly lucky to have found a man like you."
"Children." Marreck mused as his thumbs caressed Emelaide's stomach. "I can't wait to have young children who look like their mother." He smiled as he continued to caress her stomach gently with his chin resting on her shoulder.
Resting her head gently against his, Emelaide whispered softly, "You only need to decide when it's time."
"Woah," called the driver to the horses as they pulled up to the secluded tree house that was their new home and hopped down to untie the nightstand and suitcases from the carraige. Smiling Emelaide placed a tender kiss upon his cheek and whispered, "Welcome home Marreck." |
Marreck smiled as he led Emelaide out of the carriage and towards which he opened before scooping Emelaide into his arms. "I know we're not married yet but apparently its tradition in the human world that I carry you across the threshold. And since its the first time walking into the house when we own it, I thought I'd keep up the tradition." Marreck smiled as he walked through the small doorway.
"Hm, I thought it'd be more exciting." He laughed. "At least I have you." He smiled as he pressed his lips to Emelaide's. |
Laughing, Emelaide wrapped her arms around Marreck's neck and placed a long, tender kiss upon his lips, "I'm glad I suffice! Though I must admit, I rather like it when you do these spontaneous things. It's always fun to see what you think of next," she teased as she placed a light kiss upon his nose.
Having forgotten to keep her magic around her when she left Wintergalde, Emelaide wiped her brow with a blush. "Oops.. When we were in Winterglade I let my magic rest for a bit.. I must have forgotten to put it back up.. Now I'm all sweaty and gross, you must think me so weak to get hot when it's hardly warm out," she added as her magic went up around her and cooled her off. |
"Of course not." Marreck assured her as he set her on the ground. "I get shivers in Winterglade every time I go there. We're different Elves, its how we work." He winked at her before going out to the carriage to bring her suitcases inside the small house.
Collin nodded a greeting to Emelaide as he carried in the nightstand, "Where to Emelaide?"
"This way," she said with a smile as she nearly skipped down the hall towards the Master bedroom. "Over by the bed please," she added with a smile before slipping out of the room and heading to the carriage to fetch the lamp that went on it. Placing a light kiss on Marreck's cheek as she passed him, Emelaide giggled softly, "Now all we have to do is pack your things, move them in, and get married and everything will be perfect!" |
"We have to get your bookcase, love." Marreck smiled as he felt an odd sense of pride at how happy Emelaide was, hoping that he was the cause of such happiness.
Emelaide laughed as she called behind her on her way outside, "Collin will bring it over for us while we pack your things! I trust him, he'll put it where we ask."
Climbing down the ladder, Emelaide grabbed the lamp from the carriage as Collin emerged into the room where Marreck was and inquired about where to place the bookcase when he returned. |
"You can place it in the living room." Marreck said, pointing to a spot along the wall adjacent to the fireplace. "If she wants it moved I can do it later." He explained.
Collin nodded as he held out his hand, "Sure thing, Marreck. Yer a lucky guy t' snatch up Emelaide," he added sincerely.
Emelaide laughed as she entered the room, "Collin, honestly, you tease!" "What can I say? You're my favorite cousin," he added with a laugh before ruffling her hair and heading down to the carriage below and turning back to Winterglade to fetch the bookcase his father had made her. Emelaide smiled as she placed a tender kiss on Marreck's lips before nearly skipping to the bedroom to place the crystal lamp upon her nightstand. Emerging from the bedroom and back into the room with Marreck, Emelaide grinned and wrapped her arms around Marreck's neck, "I love you." |
Marreck smiled as he pulled Emelaide into his arms. "As I love you." He smiled, buring his face in the crook of her neck. "So you like the house?" He smiled, knowing full well that she approved.
"That goes without saying, dearest. The house is incredible, and it fits us perfectly. I love it," Emelaide assured him as she placed a tender kiss upon his neck. "And you? Do you really like it? Or are you just settling with it because I like it and you wish to marry me soon.."
