I've signed off the jobcentre today but my friend is still stuck there but because she's been signing on for 12 months they've now said she has to do 13 weeks community service and they'll pay her what she normally gets for jobseekers but because she works 8 hours on a Sunday they only give her £6 a week to make her money up to the £51 they say you can live off a week. They expect her to work 9-5 Monday to Friday for £6 a week and still be able to look for a job travelling 2 hours to get there and 2 hours back. They also said if she misses one DAY she loses 2 WEEKS money. So how is she meant to find a job..I don't think they even thought this through, she's being punished because she can't get a job. :/

wow thats rubish. seriously, what kind of bullshit terms are those. i know that welfare here has some bullshit terms like that, but its not that bad. mostly the complaints i hear about it are just because the people on it are lazy as fuck and they want more money with less effort. but thats bullcrap. you friend should strat getting paid under the table. she would make more money that way.

well i guess the idea is not make sure people are not on it forever right? that you do get a job and get off the system eventually. but they dont always know the way to do that since its probably different depending on each person. making some people desperate pushes them to work hard, other crack under the pressure and get worse and worse and worse. when you give out a helping hand, some people use it to push themselves better, others become dependent on it. so on one hand i understand, on the other hand... thats just rubish and doesnt make sense at all.

They could have come up with something a little better though. I mean they make criminals do community service to get out of jail time. She's done nothing wrong.

yeah but she has to hide her identity. we are all like "yeah lady with a handbag!" and the police are like " we have to find this old lady. she is a hazard to society" not lets find the 6 boys.

wow thats kinda crazy. there is a bunch of people living in the house across from mine and i know they deal drugs, and no cops have ever been there. lol. i guess we are just different here. or that we dont have enough cops. thats probably true. or maybe tis cuz our police force is more corrupt then yours.

but im glad that the cops caught the young men. thats good news.

The guy next door to my brother is a drug dealer, he's not discreet about it either but he keeps nothing in his house so even though the police have raided him 6 times they've got nothing. :XD

but my life is too! i met with a employment lady and she has already found me something! and its been like 2 days. thats so impressive! I am going to get a new, better job soon im sure of it. and even if not, if i get another job i can at least keep both and make enough money to save up for a car.
