chinese.... scalloped potatoes are not chinese. the chinese dont have potatoes in their diet because potatoes dont grow there. apparently according to wikipedia, it was popularize in french canada! so its a national dish and i never knew it! lol. potatoes au gratin is the proper term apparently

The Chinese near us does fish and chips as well as Chinese stuff. Their chips and gravy is very nice and if you get it between 12-2pm you get a can free.

All the Chinese round here have an English section of the menu. One in Wales we got food from doesn't do Chinese till after 6pm.

thats messed. all the ethnic places here pretty much exclusively do their ethnicity. some have stuff for a kids menu that will have other foods on it. but still.

so what you up to today? im going to a job fair. hopefully something will come of it.

oh oh and be honest, what do you think of my avatar. because i just got a 6.5/10 from platinum child, and my roommate thought it was a winner. so i have mixed feelings now. P.C. said that she didnt like the white skin, or the white ribbon and that the black was overwhelming.

I been jobcentre on Wednesday had a bit of a freak/meltdown/emo mope in the dark couple of days since. I have ranted about it in various different threads around Mene Nations. :XD Getting back out of that now. Working on an application for an admin job and sent an application for an IT apprentice thing.

I quite like your current avi. You can't really see much of the skin or the ribbon. I think it's fine. Course I usually don't agree with anyone from the avi ratings thing. :XD

and im sure it was just a funk, everyone gets them once and a while. im currently in one, but i think im on the up swing from it. i was volunteering today and they said that i can get further involved, so thats good. and i went into a bridal store that i already applied to work at (and didnt hear back from) and the lady in there said she was meeting her boss for a drink and would mention me! so maybe ill get a call back and have a second job! very exciting! also i got my valentines outfit! so yay me.

I sent my application off, tried to relate things I did at uni to it in the explain why you meet the person spec part. My mum said it was fine but she always says that and they never call me back. :XD

I have to find two places to send begging letters to..the jobcentre said I have to send two a week. -_- I don't know what I'm supposed to put in those things.

its bad economical times. everyone needs a job desperately and hardly anyone is getting one. and then the college teachers are going on strike like fucking morons. seriously, the people who have jobs right now should count themselves bloody lucky. i mean i wish my job paid me more, because its not enough to live off of, but at least i have something. and im working my ass off at it to make sure that i earn that pay check and that they know i bloody well appreciate a job. but still i need another one for the income.

I just need one. :XD I have applied for 2 this week. Haven't found any more to apply for yet. My lack of experience makes it hard because of all the crap meaning most of them want experience. -_-

yeah but how can you get experience if no one gives you a chance. you should put that in your resume, be like " i dont have a lot of experience, but i will if you give me the chance to gain it" i like that.

I got some things from the jobcentre saying they're allowing me to do work trial where they still pay my benefits and travel expenses and I can work like a week at the place so they can see if I can do the job. I'm sticking those in now.

yeah that sounds like it will get you the experience you might need. but at the same times those sounds like they might be right shitty jobs. i hope they arnt too bad.

It's not really for specific jobs I just put this sheet in with my application that has information about work trials and says I'm allowed to do them and if they want any other information about it it has one of the advisor's phone numbers. Apparently they've had a lot of people getting jobs through work trial recently so they're proper pushing us to offer them.

well maybe it will get you a job? who knows right. if its working for some it may work for you.
