I get extremely varied answers from people. From an artist like Luciole I was told to charge at minimum $65 for something like this one: http://ise-san.deviantart.com/art/Wa...dess-122385203 due to the intensity of all the details.
But I easily sell simple character sketches for $10 to $20 depending on if it's a waist up or full body. The ink paintings like my signature I have only sold one of, and she wanted it quickly so she gave me $100 for it. So I have no idea an adequate price on those. But the $20 Hads thought is definitely not worth the time and use of my materials for them. |

Hads: Oh, but I do, dear. You're someone in the normal class of people who occasionally go for a bit of art IRL. Your input on prices is necessary, as is anyone I might possibly be able to get some from.
If you want to put it this way, if I spend 12+ hours on one of those and I get $20 for it, that's only about $1.66 an hour. I'm hardly going to go to some exorbitant price, but that's something I have to consider. Crys: Thanks, dear. We'll see what happens... I'm definitely going to be closing down all my shops and possibly canceling trades to just do work for myself for awhile. Things always seem to come out better if I do that to improve... I take more risks with my own shit than anyone else's. I feel like they see something, they expect that's what they'll get and so I don't deviate. |

I'll doodle things here and there, but I feel like hiding my crap unless I'm happy with it. And we know how rare that is... it's time to start going back into my inks. I also want to see how they will mingle with the copics.

I can't help it. An opinion is a sin in my house and I've been both verbally and physically reprimanded for them. ^^;; I instinctively fear you will be upset and not forgive me... We'll see.. I'm looking up some of Elandria's "Creeping Tears" stock for the one I want to use of Yoki (out of multitudes..). Probably one of her sitting on the balcony rail on a humid summer night, lots of tropical flowers and peacock themes because I'm addicted to them lately.. we'll see if I can actually pull it off. |

Ah! I've been working on a bunch of paintings from that stock. It's beautiful. And for Matt and I's personal project, getting a website up by September, I was using her stock as inspiration for site art. Though loose inspiration, since one) I wanted to do my own thign, and two) she has some nazi rules about using anything outside DA AT ALL. Love the stock though. |

Just to note, I would seriously consider forking up a hundred for your work. But I definitely agree that you should ease it back a bit on the trades and stuff until you get back into your groove. It's important to please yourself before trying to please other people. |

It's a really, really rough (AND MUCH OLDER) mock up for the portfolio, I'm just working on it instead of the new psd. orz Obviously, very, very much a WIP, but I need it done before September if I can help it. =/ I'm incredibly pleased with the bottom of the skirt, but haven't pushed the rest of it yet. The head is a stand in, which is why she's an owl, lolz. And when 'm done the background purple should be gone. Looking good so far. You've changed her angle a little, so be careful of her shoulder line there. I like how the skirts are coming out so far, you've got a good feel for the fabric, which currently feels like satin to me. Lol, that reminds me of like... old school shoujo art. Eh? Why the hell does he not like it? That seems a little rude =/ |

Yeah, I was worried of that. I'm still going to mess with it. And thanks, that's what I was going for. <33 I usually have a hard time with fabric so I'm really happy with it. Me too. xD Ehh, Matt assures me he does, and he seemed positive enough, I'm just sulky that he wasn't all happy I gave him art. He doesn't play avy sites though, just comes on for the games and gives money to Matt (and now apparently me instead), so the art doesn't mean anything to him. He wasn't rude or anything, he was nice. I just wished for a little... more? He was really quite nice. xD;; I just wanted at least to be made a sig. >: I like that simplified art. It was fun to add colour for once. |

Fabric's not too hard once you get the hang of how it falls. It's determining how to portray what kind of fabric it is that becomes the bitchy part. Ah, yeah, I can see how that might be. u-u Every artist happy with something or giving a gift of art likes a little gratification or at least someone to be happy about it. ..urk, I think I just swallowed a tiny bit of my mouthwash, gross... I'm sure that's how they were in the ref, but I've been learning (and folds are a huge weak spot for me) that less is more if you place 'em right. So long as we get where and how the dress is flowing~. <3 Do either of you ladies find, my one quarrel with that stock is the corset does a strange thing to her bosoms. |
Yeah the folds are tricky. XD This is my first time doing a dress this massively detailed, but I'm just gonna run with it for now and see how it turns out overall. I haven't quite filled in the colors but I began to. (It's no where near being finished though.)
