Clair sighed a little bit "its like any other ship I have been on and everyone is so up tight." he said as she looked at Lamia. "but if it means that I get to be on a ship out in the water with my mom and all these other creatures then I am happy." she said as she jumped onto the side of the tub and ran over to Lamia and jumped onto her head. "but it still gets boreing" she said as she looked around at everyone. She was able to see a lot more noe that she was on Lamia's head.

Gregory bowed and gave a mumbled thank you in reply. He was absolutely starving at this point. He surveyed the fine dining establishment. The matridee seated him, followed by a quick waiter. He would have the chicken meal, please. He noticed that rather than one of the small "one person" tables to the sides, he was sitting at a "two person" table in the middle. Joyous. This only meant that eventually some woman (or man) would bother him to sit and eat their meal with him. Of course, not that he could blame them. He was devilishly good looking. |
Tawnya walked with her eye darting from the deck to her map and back, barely taking in other passengers and crew. She passed through the glass doors into the lobby and frowned slightly in thought as she surveyed the different passageways.
Only then did she start to notice the other people...or were they people? She began to wonder if maybe she had missed the part on the brochure that mentioned a costume cruise. It wasn't halloween...or anywhere near. Unsettled, she found the right direction and headed for the smaller dining room and bar combo. Now she really needed that drink. She pushed open the doors and strode towards what looked like the bar and looked over the other patrons. There was definitely something off here. The ears one of them sported looked too realistic to be a costume. Tawnya pondered as she ordered her drink. Maybe she'd hit her head? Or stepped into an alternate dimension. No, that was even sillier than the cat creature looking at her from one of the tables... |
Lamia laughed as Clair perched on top of her head. "Look, Mosh, I have a new hairpiece! Isn't it lovely?" She asked her bodyguard in a joking manner.
"Quite, Your Majesty." She sighed, frustrated. "Mosh, I swear by Tiamat's Tail, if you address me by my title one more time I'll replace you with my new hairpiece." "Yes, Your Majesty." With that, she shot up, nearly dislodging Clair from her head in the process. "Do you WANT a demotion, Mosh? Because we both know that I CAN do that to you!" What they also both knew was that she would not. "Now I think it's time for you to get over your little tiff with Clair and start acting like yourself again. Do I make myself clear?" Mosh looked Clair in the eye, and something seemed to change. "I understand, Lamia." With that, Mosh bowed from the waist. "Miss Clair, I apologize for my behavior. In my kingdom, it is the men who fight, not the women; I was surprised by your strength and I let my prejudice overcome me. I knew that things would be different among the air-breathers, but I apparently was not completely prepared. Will you accept my apology?" "I'll apologize for him throwing you, even if he won't," Lamia added cheerfully. "That time, he was doing his job; you know, protecting me from potential attackers and all." Mosh was still standing, bent over at the waist, waiting for Clair's response. |
Clair smiled at Mosh "it is okay" she said and jumped over to mosh and landed on his shoulder. "and just to say dont underestimate another girl here on land. Some are even stronger then me." she said happly and climbed onto Moshs head "but you are right he was only doing his job but trust me not many people here would harm you. Most of the people here are very friendly." she said then jumped back over to Lamia's head happly.

Mosh rose from his bow, seeming surprised to find an otter on his head. "Thank you, Miss Clair," he replied quietly as she jumped back to the princess. His arm twitched, as if he wished to lift it, but then decided against it. Lamia, however, could see what his intent had been. She gestured him nearer to the tank.
"Come here, Mosh," she told him. "I'm proud of you for being such a big boy," she added teasingly. "Now as a reward I'll fix your hair; how does that sound?" Mosh said nothing, but nodded and allowed the princess to smooth his disheveled locks with a few well-placed strokes of her fingers. "There! All done," Lamia presently proclaimed, sitting back with a satisfied air. "You're as handsome as ever again, my good bodyguard. Now, I'm feeling a bit thirsty; what about you, Clair? Mosh," she went on without waiting for the otter-girl's reply. "Kindly take us over to the dining area. It is about time for us to take our repast, anyways, and as it is our vacation--oh, hush, it SORT of is!--you will be taking it with us. No, I will not take no for an answer! Now go!" She ordered, pointing a finger towards the dining area with her most imperial air. Her bodyguard proceeded to steer the tank in the direction specified with a resigned sort of air. |
Clair smiled when she saw that they where headed to where her mother worked. When they got there Clair saw her mother and waved happly. Her mother saw her and got worryed when she saw the bodyguard and ran over. Her mother woar a pair of jeans and a black shirt with a aporin over it. Her hair was black and her eyes where a light blue. "Clair are you bothering these people?" her mother asked as she looked at her on Lamia's head. Clair sighed "no these are my new friends, mom, and stop worrying, I hardly ever get in trouble" she said as she looked at her mother and smiled. "oh yeah, on the last cruise you where on you got in trouble for exploreing the pipeing and the one after that you got stuck in the air vents." Clairs mother said and Clair looked down ashamed for a little bit then her mother smiled, "but your a otter and otters like to play around and explore so I can't blame you for doing that" she said and her and clair both smiled. Then Clairs mother looked at Lamia and Mosh "Hi I am Clairs mother Sammy" she said with a smile.

{{sorry for my absence, guys. Life caught up to me for a few days. ^^; }} |
Tawnya took the drink offered to her and decided to drink it outside. She was becoming increasingly unnerved by the strange things she was slowly seeing trickle into the large room.
Maybe it was better on deck. Aside from all the crazies, she would be much more content to watch the water while enjoying her drink. The sun was shining, the breeze was pleasant, and as she walked onto the main deck, there were very few people. Another man leaning on the side, and a couple walking by. More tourists with binoculars leaning over the railing. She laughed and slid herself into a neat deck chair nearby. She sipped her drink and pretended she was alone. |
Ah, the open ocean!
There was no way to put how at home Icharus felt on the sea in words. After five years of travel by cruise, he learned to appreciate it quite well. This was his home. The warm, moist air that smelled of salt and fish, filling his lungs, was so familiar to him that he didn't even have the slightest bother to it by now. The Brotherhood wasn't the best place to live, but it grew on you after a while. That was for sure. Unable to resist the call of the sea, he had chosen to assign himself a break. Sure, if he were caught there was going to be a fair amount of reprimand, but life was short. If he didn't get out and enjoy his life on occasion he was going to wind up with the only memories of his life being mopping the floors and wishing he had done more. There was no way he was going to let himself wind up full of regret, and if that meant shunning his duties for a few hours to relax, then so be it. He raised one of his palms, which had both been pressed firmly into the railing of the ship, and ran his pale fingers through his shirt, tousled pumpkin orange hair, a wry smile on his freckled face. With a deep breath he gazed lazily out to the sea, enjoying his time off to the best of his ability with only the slightest glance back over to his mop and bucket. Icharus was all too aware that he needed to be cleaning the floors, but was trying his best to shove it to the back of his mind. Now isn't the time for that. He kept saying to himself in his head. After a while, he caught the motion of someone else moving to take a similar position against the railings to admire the sight. Some blonde. Their dress was snooty (especially compared to the janitorial uniform Icharus was wearing) and even their expression was hilariously arrogant. To top it all off, he looked practically ten years younger. In other words, Icharus didn't like him. He was perfect fodder for comedy. Trying to keep in mind his job - and, as usual, doing a poor job at it - he decided to give the fellow a chance to change the initial impression given. "Having fun there?" He said. Despite his best efforts the condescending tone remained in his voice. Oh well, what did he care? He was just a janitor anyway. Nobody paid attention enough towards him for any sort of punishment to be implemented. |
Lamia smiled back and nodded. "It's a pleasure meeting you, Sammy." Subtly (or not), she nudged her bodyguard in the ribs.
Mosh instantly gave Sammy a small bow. "It is an honor," he said in his usual somber voice. Lamia beamed at him. He was always good at charming the ladies, her Mosh. Why, right now, you would never be able to tell that only a short while ago he'd been thrown by a girl shorter and slighter than him. "Clair seems to have become our companion on this trip. Not that we mind, of course." Lamia reached up to where the otter sat on her head and gave her an affectionate pat. "It's always lovely to meet other water-dwellers. Are you one yourself, Sammy?" |
Sam sighed "I wish, I am just Clairs foster mother since I found her drifting in the water one year I was working on a cruise." she said as she looked at Clair and smiled. Clair smiled back "I remember that like it was just yesterday" clair said as she remembered waking up in the arms of Sam and she had been with her ever since. "so we have been on every singel one of these cruises trying to find clairs real parenst, but so far no luck" sam said as she looked at Lamia. "well just be careful clair and it was nice meting you" sam said as she ran back to work.

((Okay I just sent in my profile, just wanted you guys to know that I may or may not be joining soon ><))

Brynn walked around the deck, her hair blowing all around her. Her face was too the sky and she wasn't paying attention to anything going on around her. Suddenly, she stepped on a panther.
"Oh my god!" she squeaked looking down on the animal. She was breathing hard, "I'm so sorry! I didn't see you there, and I'm...really new to the stuff," she said, blushing. |
Charlotte casually walked about the deck, observing all the people with a smile on her face, her black hair that usually reached her below her shoulder blades was perched in a bun up on her head, and what was loose, along with her bangs, gracefully blew about in the wind. Today her skin was a radiant pale blue, but white enough to take a second glance to realize it was not an optical illusion that her skin was such a color, and her eyes a bright a topaz as evern. As for apparel, she wore a loose, white button up shirt with a fuscia spaghetti strap tank top underneath, and blue jean capris with white sandals- her very casual attire. She needed not dress up too much to look beautiful though, her kind never did.
As she looked out at the waters, excitement began to build even more in her chest. She'd never been out this far in an ocean before- she was usually meant to stay on the shore and lure men and their ships to their deaths. That's what sirens did, according to the legends... and it was sometimes true, but just for kicks. She smiled at everyone who passed by her, as she leaned against a rail. She couldn't decide what to do first. An activity provided by the cruiseline, or make one up herself. She decided to wait until oppertunity presented its self to her. |
