"he walked in and looked the room over. Well prison or not it seemed fine, as long as he wasn't pent up in it. He turned to look at the doctor.

"What moose head himself's not going to take the pleasure of guardin my butt?" He grinned and sat down on the bed.

"This should be fine to sleep in. Better than being strapped to a medical bed anyway."
th dragon stirred in his arms, and thankfuly his tail loosened.
"Finally! Thought he was never going to let go....Here ya go little dude." He placed him in the little man made nest and looked at him fondly.

"A name huh? Hmmmm how about Bob? The mighty BOB!" He laughed loudly.... "Guess we can think about it eh? Goodnight crazy mad genius doctor Robbins!" He smiled and laid back on the bed, keeping an eye on the sleeping infant.

JessiFlakes 07-10-2009 04:59 PM

"Moose head, as you so affectionately call him, would love to have the pleasure of torturing you, more so than guarding you." he said, half smiling. He watched Dae with the dragon, then listened to his mumbling about 'the Mighty Bob' and laughed. "I think it would be a good idea to sleep on it. You can find a better name than Bob, I'm sure." he suggested. He fumbled for words which would make him more easily depart and then said, "Er.. Sleep well, Dae." then closed the door behind him.

The same guard from before came up to Dr. Robbins and asked what he needed. "Keep an eye on him. If he needs something, take care of it, but don't leave him alone. Make sure he's alive in the morning." the doctor ordered, knowing there would possibly be a few people looking to kill Dae in the night to prevent the project from moving forward. He couldn't have told Dae that though; the boy needed sleep and there's nothing like 'By the way, some people want to kill you' to keep one up at night.

The doctor walked away and back to his office, where he swapped his labcoat for a normal jacket. He then left the facility, on the way making sure that the results would be ready in the morning, which was confirmed. Outside, you could see a small house behind the facility- Dr. Robbin's house. It was small, but it was home, and he really didn't need a whole lot of room. He went in, changed and went right to bed. Tomorrow would be a busy day, and he sure needed the rest.

Silverbeam 07-10-2009 06:34 PM

"Ok.." He mummbled already closing his heavy eyelids. As he left Dae slept on into the night. Dreams of dragons flying in the sky. He rose to fly with them, only to fall....he kept trying but he could not fly into the freedom of the skies....He kept launching himself but each time he failed. He was trapped upon the ground the freedom of the skies were not open to him.

Sometime during the night the little dragon managed to climb out of his box and curl up next to dae on the bed, he cooed happily unknowing of the torn sheets.

((SO I was thinking for the splicing there would have to be some kind of mutagen agent to transform him yes? Or then theres always nanobots etc....))

JessiFlakes 07-10-2009 06:59 PM

The doctor slept well, but woke earlier than usual. It was still dark when he woke.

He showered and dressed, and as he was eating breakfast, he wondered if Dae slept, or if the baby dragon gave him any trouble. After he ate he put the dishes in the sink and grabbed his jacket. It was dark outside as he walked, and the air was cool. It felt nice on his face. He entered the facility and went straight to his office to exchange his jacket for his labcoat. After he had done that, he went straight to sector 135C and to Room 54. He asked the guard, "How was everything last night?"

The guard, whose shift was ending soon, was startled, "You're in early, Dr. Robbins. Worried about the boy?"

He didn't want to say yes; he didn't want to show that he had actually begun to grow attached to the boy, "I'm worried about my experiment. Was everything alright last night?" The guard nodded and Robbins added, "When your shift ends, make sure a replacement is sent here." the guard nodded again and the doctor walked towards the lab. He walked in and saw one of the scientists in there already, Dr. Syklel, who looked up and greeted Robbins. "How are the tests going?"

"The last one is completing now." The doctor answered, looking under a microscope, "The dragon's skincells are amazing. Take a look." he pushed away and the wheeled chair allowed him to slide with ease.

"They're like human cells, but harder, stronger... More like armor." Dr. Robbins observed, "If Dae's skin cells can adapt like the dragon's..." he smiled "We will have more of a superhuman soldier than we could have thought."

Dr. Syklel smiled, "I know. It's all coming together, Doc. Our project should be a success, if the DNA is compatable. I haven't looked. The results are in the cabinet, waiting for you." he said, moving back to the microscope.

The doctor went over and opened the cabinet, finding the file almost immediately. He then said, "I'll be in my office. Page me if you find anything else." and headed back there to look at the result in private.

Silverbeam 07-10-2009 07:14 PM

Dae continued to sleep until a nose nudged him and a little meeping sound pestered his ears.

"Five more hours...." he mumbled.....he cracked an eye open just as his little friend decided to lick it.

"Gah...." Dae quickly sat up rubbing at his eye. "Is that anyway to wake anyone up?"

The dragon sat next to him confused at the words and manners. It continued to meep and he heard a distinctive tummy growl.

"Was that me or you? probably you...." he go out of the bed and stretched, the dragon wiggled after him almost falling out of the bed. Luckily Dae was watching and helped him get down.

"Geeze your a handful in the morning." He looked toward the door. "Well there should be a guard there. Maybe he could ask for some food. he walked over and looked out the little observation window. He saw a guard at attention so he knocked on the door gently.

"uhm...Morning! could we get some meat for the little guy please? And I wouldn't mind something as well....."

JessiFlakes 07-10-2009 08:23 PM

The guard was alomst strated by the knock at his back. He turned around to face the boy and smiled, "Morning there, my shift is almost over, I'll send for it now and it should be here before I leave." He pulled out a fancy sort of walkie talkie with a video screen and contacted Dr. Robbins, "Pardon me doctor, but the boy and the... dragon are hungry. What should I get them?"

Dr. Robbins had sat down and spread out all the files, each test of the same sort for Dae and the dragon side by side for comparision. Just as he was about to set to work, his video walkie went off. He held it up and the guard that was with Dae's face was on the screen. "They are both awake? I will bring something to them. Your shift is changing in exactly one minute, so don't leave until the other guard arrives."

"Yes, sir." the guard answered Dr. Robbins, who switched off his video and the guard did the same, then turned to Dae, "Looks like the Doc's going to make a personal delivery. He shouldn't be long, knowing him. Just have a seat or something while you wait." he asked, hoping that was all.

Dr. Robbins sighed, being forced to leave his work. He had to take care of the subjects though. He went to the food-freezer by the break room and grabbed some meat for the dragon, then into the cabinet to find something for Dae. He found an insta-breakfast. Freeze-dried food you add water to and microwave and it's like a homecooked meal. He made both according to how they should have been, grabbed a bottle of milk and two of water and put it all on a tray to bring to the room. When he got there, he found the guard still there, just as he had asked. The guard opened the door for the doctor and he went in. "Morning, boys. You're up earlier than I expected." He said, putting the tray on the desk.

Silverbeam 07-10-2009 08:37 PM

Dae nodded to the guard and wen to sit down on the bed. He played with the dragon while he waited. He was surprised to find a few ticklish spots that made the little guy squirm. It wasn't too long before the doctor came in.

Dae yawned. "little guy woke me up with his growling stomach." He grinned "Of course that got mine going as well. So how'd ya sleep oh crazed genius?" He stood up to help get the food for the little dragon set out first.

JessiFlakes 07-10-2009 08:44 PM

The doctor smiled a bit, something he seemed to do more than usual since Dae arrived, "I slept fine, thank you. Did you sleep well?" The doctor seperated the food out on the desk. He grabbed the water bowl from the tank and put it on the table as well. It was nearly empty, so the doctor poured some of one of the water bottles into it. "I hope this will suffice." he said, moving to the side.

Silverbeam 07-10-2009 08:54 PM

Dae shrugged. It was food. He sat down to eat and chatted with the Doctor.

"For the most part I think I did...I had some strange dreams, but i really can't remember what it was about..." He frowned, he was sure it was more along the terms of nightmare than a dream It wasn't like it to let him down though so he shrugged it off and turned his attention to his food.

"So any word on those test things?"

He looked at the doctor then looked to the dragon who was now much happier tearing at some meat with it's little but sharp teeth.

JessiFlakes 07-10-2009 10:35 PM

The doctor stood there, listening. He wasn't surprised Dae had weird dream... Being taken into a scientific research facility would do that to anyone, wouldn't it? The doctor nodded once, "I have the results in my office. I was just about to review them when I got the call you were awake and in need of food." he paused before asking, "Did you think of another name yet?"

Silverbeam 07-10-2009 10:54 PM

"Oh yeah a name...Hmm...Killer? Trogdor the burninator?...Puff?....Scales?" He thought his brain coming up pretty empty on anything significant.

"I would think you would just give it some weird number or code. Isn't that what you scientist types do to your lab rats?"

he raised an eyebrow at the man. He was trying to figure this man out. He couldn't tell if he was coldblooded had a soft spot or he was just really interested in his work.

JessiFlakes 07-10-2009 11:30 PM

Dr. Robbins was amused by the attempts at naming the dragon, and let another half smile show. "He has an alphanumeric code already, but that isn't a name." he said simply. Dr. Robbins looked at the dragon, remembering, "EH83798, is his code, in case you were wondering." He didn't memorize the codes for all his experiments, but this one had been of particular interest to him from the start.

Silverbeam 07-10-2009 11:57 PM

"I really don't think that I'll remember that...Wait do I have a code?" He asked a little worried. If he had one it would be a bit more real about his situation. he looked back at his dragon friend. they were in this boat together. He needed a name.

"What about sky?" Some visions left over from his dream. The dragons flying free in the blue sky.

JessiFlakes 07-11-2009 12:20 AM

The doctor half smiled in the nervous way, "Yes, you have a number... But Sky sounds great." he smiled. THe doctor knew that would make things a little more than a bit uncomfortable for Dae. He was going to have to realize he was a test subject sooner or later though. The doctor just hoped it didn't hinder Dae's cooperation.

Silverbeam 07-11-2009 01:01 AM

"As long as it's not the number 13...I may survive....." he muttered. He finished his insta food and went over to Sky. He had finished eating long before him and was splashing in the water more than drinking it.

"Sky your making a mess!...hmm you are a mess..." Meat juices where all over his snout and claws. Dae tried to wash some of it off and looked back to Doc Robbins.

"So...Whats going on for today?" he asked hesitantly.

JessiFlakes 07-11-2009 01:19 AM

"You are far past number thirteen." he reassured him. He watched Dae taking care of Sky, and wondered how such an instant bond like that formed. Maybe it would may the splicing easier for the two of them mentally.

"I should get back to my office and review the test results. And after that, we will know what we can do with the two of you." he answered.

Silverbeam 07-11-2009 01:35 AM

"Alright. Anthing we should be doing? Maybe I could take Sky for a walk...I maen inside the secure building or wahtever." He looked to the littl edragon who was trying to scamper about the room. claws scratching the floor.

JessiFlakes 07-11-2009 02:23 AM

The doctor watched the damage Sky was doing to the floor with his claws, and was impressed. Especially since he wouldn't have to pay for repairing the floor.

"There's a place you can go that's kind of like a garden. You could take him around there. With a guard-escort, of course. How about that?" he asked simply. He needed the time to compare the tests anyway, so he might as well have them out of his hair so he could get it done quicker.

Silverbeam 07-11-2009 03:17 AM

Dae nodded. That's more than i hoped to get. You better be careful or your lab rats are gonna get spoiled." He smiled and winked at the guy.

He turned to sky.

"Hey sky wanna go for a walk? Terrorize some plants? huh? Maybe we can try that smoking thing again?!" He cheered the dragon on excitedly. At his pleasant tone the dragon looked up and scampered over to him, almost knocking him over.

"Off, i think he wants to play too.... "

JessiFlakes 07-11-2009 03:32 AM

Dr. Robbins ignored the first comment, walked out of the room and looked at the new guard that had replaced the other, "Take the two of them to the garden, please." Then he turned to Dae, "I'll find you when I have the results. If you need me before that, ask the guard to contact me." he said simply and walked off to his office.

When he got there, everything was still just as he left it. He sat down and started looking them over. Eventually, a smile crossed his face...

Silverbeam 07-12-2009 11:25 PM

Dae walked off herding the little dragon rather than carrying him as they were led to the garden.

While not overly huge, it was bigger than he would have thought. It even had a little bit of grass to lay on. there were hydroponics all over the place and tiered and hanging plant facilities. Large lamps heated and gave light to the tropical ones, and there were misting machines about the place.

Upon seeing the place he immediately started a round of tag with Sky. He had been pent up for too long and his adventurous spirit was restless.

"Come on Sky! Catch me! Yeah over here boy!" he yelled happily, it was like a boy and his dog gone a bit out of whack.

JessiFlakes 07-13-2009 07:25 AM

After a moment, Dr. Syklel entered the lab and knocked on Dr. Robbins' door. "What's the verdict? Is it good?" he was almost excited as Dr. Robbins was.

"Very. It seems the DNAs are more compatible than one would have originally thought. We can start as soon as the team is ready." he smiled a bit, "We are a go." First he had to tell Dae. He walked towards the garden, to one of the upper floors above the entrence floor. He walked up to the window and could see the boy and his new friend running around. For a moment, he felt happy to see them together, getting along, but not long after that moment, a feeling of guilt overcame him. He looked down at what he was ruining. He was looking at what he was about to destroy. 'It's for the good of everyone. He's going to be a hero. A hero we all need.' he reassured himself, causing the guilt to disappear, or at least die down.

He gave the two a few more minutes in the garden, then began to walk down to the floor below to find Dae. He walked in and realized how much he missed visiting the garden, how nice it was in there. "Dae?" he called, "Where did you go?" His voice was more buisness like, as it was when he first 'caught' Dae. It was back to buisness now.

Silverbeam 07-14-2009 12:21 AM

As they played he wondered about his chances here. Perhaps now should be a good time to make a break for it. As they played he looked for weaknesses in the room that he might exploit. The Vents were too small and too high...The doors were all guarded, and he was being watched by who knows how many hidden cameras, let alone the ones he spotted. It was in his inspection her heard a voice.

Even if he didn't recognize actively the change in Dr Robbins tone, subconsciously he seemed to register it. What little distance between them had lessened, was now wide as a chasm once again.

"Were over here Doc!" He called as he looked down at his scaly friend. He coaxed Sky into following him and walked toward where he had heard the man. A little of that fear had crept back into his stance, and he stood before the man nervously.

"So what's the word?"

JessiFlakes 07-14-2009 01:42 AM

Dr. Robbins stood still in his place as he waited for the boy and his pet to approach him. A small smile crept across his face as he spoke, "Your DNAs are compatible. The procedure is going to take place when the rest of my team is prepared. We should take you to be prepared for the splicing now. Follow me, please." He turned and waited for Dae to begin walking behind him.

Silverbeam 07-14-2009 04:09 AM

Dae paused. He looked around, cameras, guards, and a labyrinth of hallways and locked doors. There would be no point in fighting. At least by following him, this way he would move on his own two feet. He followed after the doctor through the halls trying to think of it as an adventure instead of a nightmare....
