JessiFlakes 07-14-2009 09:50 PM

Dr. Robbins walked in silence down to something that looked a bit like an exam room at a doctor's office. He went in and waited for Dae to enter with Sky, then closed the door behind them. "You're going to need to put a gown on." he said, walking to a cabinet and taking out a hospital gown that only opened half way down instead of all the way. He handed it to Dae and said in a lower voice, trying to be gentle, but not completely show it, "We don't know what's going to happen with this. We have never done it on a human's DNA before. I just thought I should warn you. This could be either extremely painful, or you might not feel a thing. We just don't know..." He looked at Dae for a reaction.

Silverbeam 07-14-2009 11:08 PM

He followed the doctor into the room. At least it wasn't full of scary machines needles and the like. He relaxed a little, until he started speaking that is.

'Warn me? Why warn me, I'm just a guinea pig to them. A scientist didn't care if it hurt the lab rat or not. Just cared about results. It wasn't like they were going to just let him leave if he said no.'

He took the gown and put it on as quickly as he could, trying not tho think about what was going to happen next.

Once on he looked to The doctor for further instructions, being strangely quiet compared to his normal nervous joking around.
He sighed grimaced a little and nodded at the doctor.

JessiFlakes 07-15-2009 04:30 AM

He handed Dae the gown, "Put this on, please..." he said quietly, walking over to the door and stopping in front of it. He was trying to give Dae a little privacy, seeing as he couldn't leave the room- not that Dae could escape anyway. The only way out of the windowless room was the door in front of him.

"You aren't allergic to any medicines, are you? Just to double check. I want to give you a sedative, so you'll sleep through it... That way, if it does hurt, you won't feel it... And also, you won't see the needles..." he said as he thought of it. He really didn't want Dae to be hurt... unless 100% neccessary.

Silverbeam 07-16-2009 01:04 AM

((already put the gown on....))

"Uhm, no I'm not allergic to anything I know of." Sky whined a little, as if in response to the inner turmoil that Dae was facing. he looked down and tried to give him a reassuring smile, it failed and he looked even more dismal. He leaned a hand down and rubbed the back of the guys head along some bumps. Sky cooed and leaned closer to him, wrapping his tail around one of his legs.

JessiFlakes 07-16-2009 03:59 AM

((Oh, sorry! Didn't see that. <w<;; Strike that then. xwx;; ))

"Oh, good then." he said. He wanted to spare Dae what he could. "In case you're wondering, Sky won't be in too much pain. We just need to extract some of his DNA. It's you we're worried about. I have every faith you will turn out fine. I believe you are the hero we all need, Dae. You are going to save everyone. Just remember that." he said, as though trying to project his feelings onto the boy, to give him a little more courage. "And you can still have that cool superhero name, when you think of it."

The doctor unlocked a cabinet and took out a few bottles of pills, put them in a cup and fixed a cup of water, then handed them to Dae, "Take these. They'll make the process a bit easier for your body to handle." He pulled the bed forward from the wall to reveal it was a gurney, "And get on, we won't strap you down this time, and you can hold Sky." he said, standing beside it.

Silverbeam 07-16-2009 08:16 PM

He smiled tyring to think positive.

"Super hero...Right..."

He took a deep breath then downed the pills. Then he put the cup down and took up the dragon infant.
"Come on Sky, Lets get this over with...." He climbed up next to the dragon and layed down on it. Sky curled up in the crook of his arm, wrapping his tail over Dae's torso and putting his little wings over him like a shawl.

JessiFlakes 07-17-2009 02:31 AM

(Sky's a male dragon, remember? At least, he was before. xP)

As Dae was getting on the gurney, another scientist came in, "All set already doctor?" he smiled, "You're sure down to buisness quick" It was Dr. Syklel. "How you doing?" he asked Dae as they started to wheel the gurney and him and Sky out of the room. Dr. Syklel had grown partial to Dae, and he knew Dr. Robbins, despite how he was trying to hide it now, had too.

Dr. Robbins looked down at Dae, awaiting his answer as well as he pushed the gurney from behind. After a few minutes, they went through a set of large double doors and they were in a fully medical-equipped lab setting. They wheeled the two to the center of the room and locked the wheels, "We're going to knock the two of you out now." he said, taking out an oxygen mask attached to a tank that contained the same gas that had knocked Dae out before, only a stronger version. He put it over Dae's mouth and nose and turned and took out one that fit the same on Sky, "Be a good boy now, Sky, you'll be done in a moment after you go to sleep." he said petting the dragon after he put it on. "Here we go, Dae." Dr. Robbins said as the team of scientists decended around them. He flipped the valve open to release the gas and asked Dae, "Count backwards from one hundred, so we know when you're asleep."

Silverbeam 07-17-2009 03:21 AM

Dae shrugged in Response. How was he supposed to be doing knowing he was about to be experimented on......?

He patted Sky reassuringly as they rolled down the hallways, more for himself than for the little dragon. He lay still as the man put the mask on him and then one on Sky. It was almost funny to see the weird mask they had fitted for her.

They turned on the gas and asked him to count down.....

"100, 99, 98, 97, 96, 95,....77,76,75..... "

Perhaps it was the tension or how scared Dae was of never waking up, or waking up to find himself in some deformed way.... It took a bit longer than usual for the gas to work...

"48, 47, 46,45, 44, 43, 42......." finally he zonked off, much later than the dragon...He hadn't made it to Dae counting past 80.

JessiFlakes 07-19-2009 04:38 AM

Dr. Robbins was impressed. To fight off the gas that long, Dae had to be unusually strong, "He's going to survive this." he smiled, speaking under his breath. The doctor was fairly certain of this fact, he thought, as he inserted a new IV into Dae's arm, one full or morphine. "Syklel, Carrebo, extract the DNA from the dragon and prepare it. It won't take longer than than this. EVeryone else, get to work." he commanded, setting to work on his own and getting agreements from the other doctors and scientists in the room. Some were of medical background, others purely scientific, but they were expertly assembled for this moment. This one task.
Some of the dragons blood was pumped into Dae's bloodstream, for preperation of the DNA changing and being able to power Dae's new body; some of Sky's skin cells were grafted to Dae's, and then came the final step: a syrum was injected into Dae that would bind all DNA and mutate Dae's so they were similar to Sky's. Dae was injected with one more sample of Sky's DNA, and then, it was time to wait. The whole process took a lot less time to get through than the changing would, and it was also the easiest part to preform- a few simple injections and grafts and such, and they were done in a little more than two hours. The only problem that could possibly occur was if Dae's body rejected the DNA and tried to kill it as the syrum was binding it; ergo, killing Dae.

That didn't happen.

Soon, Dae would wake up, probably as the change was occuring, and he would feel the pain. They couldn't give him too high a dose of morphine, or as the change occured, Dae's body would absorb and become addicted and need it to surive as though it was food and water. Dae would most definately feel some pain, much to Dr. Robbin's disliking, but he wouldn't get the full force of it.

When the procedure was done, most the others cleared out except Syklel and Robbins. Dr. Robbins moved a lock of Dae's hair, "I hope he doesn't suffer too much."

Dr. Syklel tried to reassure him, "You picked a strong one, he'll be fine. He will hurt, but he will be okay in the end."

"I hope so..." the doctor replied, sitting down, not far from where Dae's and Sky's unconscious bodies lay. He wanted to be close, for when Dae woke, so he could help as much as possible. He wondered as he watched him, what Dae could be dreaming about, if anything.

((I'll leave the change up to you, so I don't take all the fun. lol ))

Silverbeam 07-19-2009 04:00 PM

Dae floated in a sea of darkness. He waited there looking for something, anything, he expected something to happen. It started our as a light breeze, that played through his hair and caressed his bare skin. then sparks of light...They floated down and hit his skin...they burned. First only as a little spark, but then the heat and pain increased with each sparkle of light hit him. He was locked in the darkness, the fire burning, spreading throughout his body. He screamed. he fought to escape the darkness and the fire that seemed to burn within him.

His eyes shot open at the end of his scream. He panted his heart racing. A grimace of pain etched his face, sweat forming all over. He balled his hand into fists, and fought convulsions in his body.

The first changes began to appear, his skin became deadly white, then seemed to shine and harden. Color began to seep back in patches. The sky blue that was of the baby dragon gleamed and became more vivid as the patches spread and came together.

His eyes became blood shot, and were almost completely red with blood. Screaming again he shut his eyes tears of blood poured. As the drops of blood dropped from his chin he re opened them to the change. his eyes were slitted and were an eerie bright blue. with a magenta stoke around the iris.

His body shook, but the changes were only just starting.

((thought i'd give you a chance to post before I completed... :D ))

JessiFlakes 07-19-2009 11:03 PM

It wasn't long after the procedure condluded and the doctor had taken a seat that Dae began to move and change... It was beginning.

Dae seemed to be screaming, but not much was actually coming out for sound. It seemed to be more like a hissing from the back of his throat. His stomach dropped as he watched what was happening to Dae. He felt horrible for putting the boy through this. He stood to check the morphine, which was running low already. He changed it, inserting a new dose into the line, hoping that would help, seeing as there wasn't much more he could do but wait... though, he sincerely wished he could do more than that.

Silverbeam 07-20-2009 04:05 AM

It felt like his bones were breaking. Points at his back shoulder blades and at his tailbone seemed to be excruciating points. His feet also felt like perhaps they had fallen off and were only nubs of pain. He felt skin tear as the pressure in his back shot out. The pain kept going and he could tell he was bleeding, but if felt like something was sliding or pushing itself out at those tow points...

If he could look at it, bones were slowly sliding out at his shoulder blades and tailbone. They slowly eased themselves out, as they were being made as quickly as his body could produce them.

Even amongst all the pain it seemed to pause and at least the pain stopped growing.

His feet were becoming harder and longer, a few toes joined toegether and his nails became like claws.

The bones growing from his back had muscle attached to them and skin was growing. On the tail bone, it was becoming just that....A lizard tail. The upper back was more complex as they pushed from out from under his lying back. A web of skin and tisue formed to become wings, small at first but growing bigger.

The least noticeable of all was his hair, it grew a little longer and its color also changed to a pinkish magenta.

It seemed to be a change going all the way to full dragon...But then it started to slow done...The skin drying, the bleeding from his back slowed and the skin came together.

Dae started to breath a little easier and fell into unconsciousness once again.

((hows that for a transformation? Also Dae did use up a lot of energy, calcium, blood, etc, so the Doc might want to help out in restoring some of those levels.))

JessiFlakes 07-20-2009 04:21 PM

Dr. Robbins watched Dae transform with teeth and fists clenched. This was both the most exciting and the greatest horror of his life. His dream wascoming true before his eyes, but he had grow attached to Dae, and watching his pain hurt the doctor on the inside.

The change was incredible: How well Dae's body accepted and his DNA adhered to the DNA of Sky. It was such a thorough transformation, the doctor could not believe it was real. He half expected to wake up. He looked at the monitor for Dae's statistics, and it showed Dae was doing perfectly well- his body was obviously drained of energy, and his body had taken a hit, so to speak, but his organs were functioning at great levels, especially his heart, moreso than should be expected for having such a great stressor on the body.

Syklel and Robbins moved now; Syklel fetched the dragon and human blood that Dae would more than likely need with the expanded body and stronger heart. With the growth of his bones, Dae's calcium intake from before for a human, even if it was at its best, would be no where near enough, so Robbins grabbed a syringe that he could inject into Dae that would make its way straight into his bones, assuming the syringe didn't break trying to get through his skin. In preperation for this moment, one of the doctors had thought ahead enough to find a stronger metal for the needle, Dr. Robbins observed with a swell of pride in his team.

Whatever else Dae needed would need to be observed when he was awake. Until then, they had no idea what had happened to Dae's body, or his mind even, and only when he was awake could he answer those questions...

((I thought of everything but the calcium. Thanks for mentioning it! xP I couldn't think of what else he'd need, so I figured I'd save it for Dae to answer when he was awake and observable.))

Silverbeam 07-20-2009 09:22 PM

Dae felt drained. So tired, and everything was achy, and yet tingly, he wasn't sure if he wanted to scratch everywhere or start twitching. He was till too tired to open his eyes, yet he didn't feel totally unconscious. He murmured and groaned softly. Was the procedure still going on, he was very confused. At least most of the pain had stopped.

Sky shook his head. The medicine on him was wearing off and he smelled the bood and sweat from Dae. He whined and tried to get over to DAe. He sniffed and whined at the boy. Blodd soaking the matt and sheets under him. The dragon was confused. It smelt like Dae, and yet like himself....

JessiFlakes 07-20-2009 10:17 PM

Dr. Robbins looked over at Sky, who was seemingly becoming restless. "Hey there, boy." he said, unhooking the dragon and picking him up to bring him to Dae, "I can't put you down, just in case you touch somewhere he's hurting." he leaned the dragon in next to Dae's head, explaining to the baby, because he seemed to be smart enough to understand human language and interact accordingly.
"It's him, he's just more like you; more like your brother now." he clarified, in case the dragon's obvious confusion was over that. "And he needs a bath." Dr. Robbins joked, hoping to make at least someone feel better. He was sure if Dae were awake, he would appreciate the doctor's attepmt at a sense of humour. He held the dragon back to his chest, sitting in the chair next to Dae with him, so Sky could be closer. "When he wakes up, he's going to be different, I imagine." he explained in a whisper to the dragon, "He's going to be stronger, like you, of course... but I imagine it will have some affect on his mind and personality as well... I hope not too much." he said, watching Dae.

Silverbeam 07-21-2009 02:53 AM

((it ok if we jump a little forward in time? I would think his body would need time to heal and adjust before he would really come to.))

Consciousness was a long time coming. It took a while for his body to recover from the shock of such a change, and still longer to heal.... For everything to truly settle it would probably still take time.

Dae cracked an eyelid open. At first all he saw was white, then things seem to focus. He could see infinite detail...the tiny cracks in the ceiling. Stains that hadn't been totally scrubbed away. That wasn't the end of it....All his senses seemed to be on overload. He heard his own breathing, his heartbeat, water running through pipes somewhere. Others within the facility. In fact he seemed to smell better than he saw and heard. Although at the moment nothing was to identifiable but the water and very small traces of blood, perhaps old traces.

He opened both eyes and turned his head back and forth, looking about the room.

"Am I still alive?" he wondered to out loud.

JessiFlakes 07-21-2009 05:31 AM

The Doctor wasn't far away with Sky, giving him his own bath, which he seemed to be enjoying. Just a little one, in a tub of water just big enough for the dragon to fit in and be able splash his tail about, which is probably the part he most enjoyed- like any baby, he was enjoying making the mess. He took the dragon out and placed him on a towel. This wasn't Sky's first bath, so both knew what was coming next. The doctor ducked down below the counter and said, "Okay, shake!" and the dragon shook most the water that was left off- not that that was much, considering how waterproof his scales were, but the dragon liked it just the same. He stood back up again and was wiping down the dragon's face when he heard, Dae.

Sky's ears perked up immediately. The doctor grabbed him and turned around just as quickly, carrying Sky over to Dae, "Yes, Dae, you're alive." he said, in a quieter voice than normal. He wasn't sure how sensitive Dae's hearing would be and didn't want to startle him, "How are you feeling?"

((Yeah, sounds like a good idea. Wish I thought of it. xP How do you want to do the jump though?))

Silverbeam 07-21-2009 05:47 AM

((I assumed I just did....Otherwise he wouldn't be awake.....In your next post you could tell me Ive been out for X amount of days...))

"I'm not sure...Weird I think, but not bad?" He attempted to sit up, he felt a waight on his back he wasn't used to and he almost fell sideways because of it.

"Wahhh... Hey what?....Is on my back?" He tried to reach back there and his hand encountered the membrane of one of his new wings.

"What is? Wait huh?" He became more and more confused as he started looking and feeling himself over. He was...Well blue for starters, and his skin felt weird and stiff and there was something attached to his back and who knew what was under the covers....

He started to panic and jumped out of the bed....He was of course still weak, and his new feet and had a totally different balance then before so he ended up as a sprawled heap on the floor. He lay gasping and flailing a little there his eyes wide in shock.

JessiFlakes 07-21-2009 04:45 PM

((I figured the proceedure would knock him out a few days too, but then there'd be months of healing still needing to be done, unless you wanna say the splicing gave him oober healing abilities? ))

Dr. Robbins put Sky down on the chair that had been next to Dae's gurney-bed. "You've been unconscious for awhile, Dae. Your body is weak from not walking for awhile, and the procedure. You also seem to be a bit unbalanced from the new appendages..." he said, looking Dae over as he slowly pulled him up to his feet, "Hold onto me and try to stand still a few moments, see if you can regain your footing and find a balance."

The doctor stood there, waiting for Dae to make a move or something, waiting to see what he did, and hoping he would take his advice, for whatever it was good for. "When you can walk again, do you want to look in the mirror? You have changed quite a bit, so try not to be too alarmed. It's a bit shocking, yes, but strangely, it seems to suite you." he said, being reassuring, but honest. Dae seemed like he was perfect to be spliced with Sky- the outcome was admirable.
Not only how he looked, but it could be assumed as well as the increase in strength in his heart, other physical strengths would follow.

Dr. Robbins wasn't thinking of all that, however. At that moment, he was glad Dae had lived; just lived.

Silverbeam 07-21-2009 05:39 PM

Dae clung to Dr. Robbins, just as for the emotional support as the physical. He had great difficulty in balancing. It seemed he would have to learn to walk again, just like an infant. He looked at his feet. They now appeared to be more like claws, he had scratched the floor quite thoroughly in his antics.

he took in a big breath of air, and then another trying to calm himself down.

"I don't look to weird?...It's just very strange....I don't know my body anymore...I'm all unbalanced n stuff..."

Sky chirped/ screeched happily at him and jumped of the chair and scampered toward him. Excitedly he tried to jump up at him, kinda like a dog who wanted to be held. This was like the last brick on a seesaw and while still clinging to the doctor he fell forwards.

"Wahhhh!" he crashed toward the floor once again.

((I'm planning of one of them falling on top of the other, but of course you get a say in the matter.))

JessiFlakes 07-21-2009 07:06 PM

((Works for me. :3 ))

As Dae fell forward, Dr. Robbins was pushed back. Apparently, Dae's strength had been altered a great deal. The doctor fell too the floor, his back making a loud noise against the floor, and the air being forced out of him as Dae fell on top, having followed in the gravitational pull of things. "Hello, Dae. It seems you are more unbalanced then we thought." he wheezed out, Dae's sudden weight being a little more than he expected. After a minute, he regained control over his breath, but still couldn't move much under Dae's weight.

Sky didn't miss the oppertunity for a pigpile, of course and began jumping on the two of them.

Silverbeam 07-21-2009 07:39 PM

"Oh, uhm...sorry.." he said blushing. He was just so uncoordinated, and Sky wasn't helping.

"Sky cut that out, that tickles you know...Actually I think right now everything's a bit sensitive...gah or itchy...Must be the healing process i guess. Did I hurt you Doc Robbins?"

he tried to get sky off of them his arms trying to catch the playful tyke, he only managed to wrap his tail over both of them using his neck and wings to help pinning them all together. He whistled, obviously in triumph. He had pinned down his prey, an instinct bread into him in his hunting skills.

Dae rolled his eyes and squirmed.

"You are definitely not making this easier Sky!" He said scolding. The little guy just kept on trilling happily.

JessiFlakes 07-21-2009 11:59 PM

Dr. Robbins wasn't sure how he felt having Dae on top of him like that. He wasn't used to so much human contact all at once, especially if it wasn't initiated by him. "Err, no I'm not hurt; I'm okay. Thank you, Dae. One thing is for sure, you need a bath..." he replied, sort of happy that he got to use that on Dae, but at the same time, completely serious, "you smell worse than you did when you first got here." he laughed, "Do you want help learning to balance and walk first, so you don't drown yourself in the tub?"

Silverbeam 07-22-2009 03:30 AM

((I'm thinking he's gonna have to kinda go through rehab...relearn to walk etc. He may need a sponge bath.....LOL!))

"Oh sorry.." He mumbled and kinda rolled off him. The best he could manage was to sit up. sky crawled into his lap and began licking his face.

"hey, that tickles, and I'm uhm dirty....Really Doc everything smells strongly I'm not sure if its me or if I'm just more sensitive now." he looked at his hands. They weren't too different, just a bit elongated, his nails thicker and pointed like claws and the webbing between his fingers just a bit bigger. Oh and of course blue. His skin was just crazy. It was kinda shiny in a way, much harder and smooth....

"Some super hero...I can't even stand up... I guess this will take some getting used to."

JessiFlakes 07-22-2009 05:20 PM

((Yes, I mentioned that. lol. THat's what I thought we were going to fast forward through... owo;; ))

"We'll make you a superhero yet." he smiled, "It's just going to take some practice. And... maybe we should get you that bath first." He walkd over to the corner and pulled out a wheelchair with a low back, which would allow for Dae's wings to not be crushed. He locked the wheel and walked over to Dae, then lifted Sky up out of his lap and put him on the chair, "Just sit there a minute, Sky, so I can help Dae." he turned back to Dae and crouched down, putting his arms around Dae, "You're going to need to help me here; push off the floor with your feet. Ready? One, two, threee...!"
