It truly is sad. I've been subscribed for three years and I found a lot of good manga through it. As for finishing off my subscription with Shonen Jump, I'm not too happy about that. The reason I didn't buy Shonen Jump is because of all the Naruto in it. I don't mind Bleach, but they also have Yu Gi Oh GX in it, which I also dislike. I liked the DIY articles and How To Draw that SB had. It was a great run and hopefully it will somehow be revived.
...As long as it doesn't include more Naruto in it. XP |
That is just stupid. Why the hell would they do that when it sells higher more manga than anything else? God, Find something else? Find it from where?! -sigh-

I know their big magazine thing is discontinuing for now because of the economy, but according to their website they're still producing manga. I don't think it's good bye. I think it's more like "See you later."

...I absolutely loved Shoujo Beat D':
this is gonna suck a bit... if I had the choice, I always picked Shoujo Beat over Shounen Jump. And I only found out about SB like.....3 years ago, maybe. So I don't have very many issues, but the ones I do have, I reread far more often than Shounen Jump! Plus, the series I find in Shoujo Beat usually hook me into reading the entire series and then get me on another kick, or something. Like NANA. Now it's one of my all time favorite Shoujo manga... all because I read a chapter in Shoujo Beat and decided I wanted more. Now other people won't really have that same experience... or the pink-and-blue pages xD Sigh. This is gonna be kinda sad. |
I agree that it sucks that its discontinued, I'm thankful that I managed to get all of the issues. :D
I even remember Animerica, I think I still have a few copies lying around somewhere. Hmmmmm.... |

that's kinda ridiculous. Shojo Beat has a lot of good manga. now who's going to release shojo manga in America?

Yea, I really loved it, but ever since I found Manga Fox, I haven't been as exceited to find Shojo Beat or even Shounen Jump in my mail box, so I stopped getting manga from both......it was nice knowing some events and whatnot though! XDD
