I'll be 20 in December. Last year of the true "teenage years" but I feel like it's been ages since I was even associated with teens. My whole life I've been close friends with 20, 30 and 40 year olds.
And definitely, I as a woman would change when I had a child, IF I had one. I would become a corpse. Because I would kill myself. . . . Most likely. Not that having children is a bad thing. I just hate the inquisitive, noisy, and needy nature of kids. |
Hee hee, right on Wendy, as a fellow child free-r
|
Children aren't all bad. I've had some great times with the step kids, it's just I also treasure my time off as well!
*drools over Wendy's Welcome shirt and balloon* |
Have a good weekend guys! I'm off to see Depeche Mode in Boston tonight. 5 hours away *groan* But so looking forward to it!
|
I know they aren't all that bad. I find myself having more fun with more developed kids like around 5 years of age and above. Boys just adore me for some reason . . . they always ask their mothers when I'm coming over next or what not. I'm like. Oh my, crushes early, perhaps? XD
And you wanna hold the balloon? :O It's kinda hard for my avatar to hold both a pop and a balloon in the same hand. >< Surprised I can do it. |
Wendy - I'm hoping to one day own my own balloon and shirt. That'd be one of my ultimate goals.
OK guys - this is the report for today. I'll post it here and anyone who is curious I will refer them to here as I've been really busy and I've actually managed to pick up 3 hours today. (On top of running errands, washing and folding laundry, and trying to work out the whole land contract deal...) Anyways, I'm trying to type this up as I work, so bear with me if it's grammatically wrong or misspelled... Well basically we've been preapproved for the mobile home park, which is very nice and well kept. It looks like the neighborhood is full of either elderly people or people with families and kids around our stepkid's age. The manager was really pleasant and said that the area is very quiet. (Something I was very relieved to hear!) He said that the lot rent is $285 per month. The real estate lady is really sweet too and says she personally knows the lady trying to sell the trailor and is willing to work with us as much as possible. So I'm hopeful, but I'm trying to be realistic. The Manager wants us to sign the paperwork tomorrow night, and the realitor is going to get back to me sometime tomorrow. I told her I need to know by 6pm how this is going to flesh out, and she's going to do her best. As for the work situation - I've filed for partial unemployment (to make up for the hours I'm lacking) and I've also put my resume up on the database too. I've got an appointment booked to go for an info session for the "No Worker Left Behind" scheme which can potentially pay for 2 years of college. So thumbs up there!! I'm feeling really upbeat and like I can climb the highest mountain...yadda yadda. Anyways time for dinner! If I get a chance I'll stop by later tonight, if not tomorrow morning and show Mene some love. |
Oh my gosh, that's GREAT news all around. I'm so excited for you! I knew everything would work out just fine, and all you really need now is a full out job, so maybe the resume being up for all to see will get some views out of it, and you'll be able to get back on the employment status really soon. Hopefully it'll be a line of work you'll be excited about, too.
Yay for a great Friday! It's okay that you're busy, I totally understand. :3 I've been out running about today. My sister went back to high school today, and she started today because she's in a private academy. Then we went to go get our hair cut, and I got some bangs cut in. Hoorah. :D Then we came home and just chilled. My mother got me a nice pinstriped and SOFT body pillow for when I go back up to university since I have a full size bed now. Also, I got a full size memory foam pad. I had a twin size last year when I was in the dorms, so all around, great day for me too. :D Yay for big beds~ Woo, party tonight! :D Hopefully you'll be around some to chat. If not, I should see you sometime tomorrow I should hope. The EVENT is starting tomorrow, I think. :D YAY, Celes Paradi~ |
Ohh that's even better news!! I've got another 2 hours to work here in 5 minutes. If it isn't too busy I'll be around to chat...if not I'm off tomorrow with not a whole lot to do. (Well if there isn't any posted hours, that is!) I'm going to be also really anxious tomorrow until we get the specifics finalized, so I'm probably going to need some help to pass the time!
Edit: Husband is really stressed right now. For some reason he told the real estate lady we had 3 grand to work from, when his 401k will only allow us to take out 2k in total. I asked him where we're going to get the extra money and he's like I dunno we'll have to sell stuff off or borrow it somewhere. I really hope that we can work something out without having to do a balloon payment so we can use the extra we pull out to help us put the $585 we need to cover all the fees with moving in on the lot. I guess we'll just have to be honest with her and said we counted all our pennies and we got exactly 2k to play with to make this work. I'm sure near 1.5k will be a few months payment on it and I hope she'll be OK with it. *crosses fingers* |
From the way you've described the people, they seem pretty understanding, I'm sure they'll go for it. :]
As for needing help to pass the time, I'll be around all day tomorrow. I'm around Mene OBSESSIVELY so during an event . . . I put everything else on hold pretty much for the first few days, it's kinda scary! |
Have they officially announced it starts tomorrow? Oh jeez I hope I'm not having to pack too soon or else I might be too busy to win all the event items. >_<
Hubby says if it does go through we're looking at the possibility of moving in the next two weeks and what he'll do is get a bunch of boxes and I'll work on packing all the extra crap around the house first. We'll be living with boxes up to our eyeballs. O_o I'm so excited though...I really hope this goes through! |
Well, last week, I was told by someone that they saw a staff member's post stating it'd be next weekend because I thought it was LAST weekend myself. They mostly start on Saturday and then end the Sunday a week later. At least, that's how the site-run events work. And last year, Celes Paradi was on the first full week of August, so I think it definitely starts tomorrow with all that proof around.
Boxes is good though! The shitty thing is that you pack everything up just to UNPACK it again once you get everything moved in. x_x I'm excited for you, too, though. :D Moving's always exciting. I'll be moving into my new apartment in two weeks myself. :D We'll be packing around the same time, yay. |
Yah I know...I hate packing and unpacking....
BUUT I'm unemployed now and have plenty of time to do it, so I guess it kinda worked out rather well! I'll finally go through and get rid of some of the junk my husband and I have been hoarding. It will also give me the time to go through the kids' stuff and do the same...although they've already had most of their junk toys thrown out. It'll be mainly their clothing. I think I've just pulled out all the really raggedy stuff not long ago. I keep on having to do that as they will wear things until they're so disgusting looking. Ugh. (Hence why I buy nearly all their clothes second hand too - since they go through them and either wreck them or outgrow them! Not to mention I'm poor :P) |
Yeah, the spare time will definitely give you the time to do it, and I actually enjoy cleaning, so I would find fun in it. Organizing boxes and what not. I'm such a nerd!
Good luck throwing the kids' stuff out. My sister and I used to pitch fits every time Mom decided it was time to give away some extra older stuff to Goodwill, even things that we wore to the disgusting state your kids do. XD And buying second hand is no crime, honey. I buy some of MY clothes second hand. Most of my clothes are actually ones that have been given to me by people that don't wear them anymore, or they're from girlfriends who used to be my size and somewhere down the line gained weight. Unfortunate for them, but I get some new threads out of it! |
Haha, an old farts thread!
Hmm ... I think I qualify for this. Yep. The irken is indeed 20 years old. |
And I'm nearly 20, but feel much older. Welcome, Irken. :3
And YAY for King's Crowns and Yumeh look-a-likes. *dances* |
Cool Irken, I'm 20 too... Fun times. Still can't legally drink booze. How sad. ><
|
Hey Thothy are you still playing Magician's Quest? I just got it using my 25 dollar credit from trading in some games and I'm loving it. Perhaps we could visit eachother, etc. :)
Edit: Drinking is over-rated. :XD |
Izumi: I AGREE. Drinking IS over-rated. I never plan on it. Had a few bad run-ins with OTHERS drinking and I never care to do so in my life. Plus, alcohol smells and tastes HORRIBLE.
I don't need to drink to have a good time. :] |
Oh no...I enjoy a good stiff drink now and again, but I absolutely hate getting sloshed and hate feeling sick and being sick. I've thrown up once from OD and I'm not going to do it again.
Smoking...I wouldn't touch that with a 40 foot pole. Ew. |
Yeah, I can't see how people smoke. I don't have a problem with others drinking if it's in moderation. I know my dad likes to have a beer about once a week, and that's all good and fine. I don't tolerate shit like what my roommate did this past year . . . blew a .33 on a breathalizer we had after she consumed an entire 1.5 liter bottle of pineapple rum. And then I think she had some cherry flavored vodka as well . . . I had to clean up her vomit out of the sink AND pick out broken pieces of glass that she broke all over our floor right out of her bleeding foot. Then I had to bandage it. And she didn't even remember a damn thing or say thanks for doing it afterwards.
Course, IMO, she's just an all around inconsiderate bitch who can't hold her alcohol anyway. But that kind of drinking for ANYONE is absolutely ABSURD. |
Ewww yah. You know you can die of alcohol poisoning. You've got to drink a fair amount (determined by your body size so I'd probably have to drink a crap load...) but still that's kinda like ew. I've only been physically ill once and I remember all of it, including worrying about falling asleep on my back in case I vomited in my sleep. I never want to do that again. It's horrid.
|
She's lucky she didn't start going into the first stages of alcohol poisoning. I just remember taking her down to her boyfriend's room and saying that she was his responsibility since he GAVE her the alcohol anyway. The only reason she was drinking is cause he went out with his friends and she felt uber lonely and tried to drink all that away. Poor way of doing it.
And ugh, that sounds dreadful . . . I've vomited in my sleep before, but never on account of alcohol. I'm sure the smell of the alcohol coupled with the vomit makes it even worse . . . |
It's more the fact that you loose your sense of balance and the whole world seems to be spinning that makes it worse. I think after you vomit you feel just a little bit better, but you still really feel nauseous when you try to lie down.
|
Yeah, that's how generally any nausea / vomiting thing goes, though. God, I felt just like that last Thursday when I was still on the anesthesia after getting my wisdom teeth cut out.
And they say you'll sleep until the next day. Pff, yeah, sure. I'd like to see anyone sleep through nausea like that. |
Right now I'm not playing that Izumi... I have to get on a bus in an hr... And go across state to my friend's house. Cute avie, I love the fox ears and tail! xD That must be the new CI, huh? cool. Yeah, fuck drinking... Lol. *gets out rum flask* >>;;
That sucks, I've never thrown up from alcohol before... I have a high tolerance for booze & weed. Yea, smoking tobacco is disgusting! >< When you drink its not just losing your balance... You lose the ability to use your frontal lobes of your brain, which means your logic and common reasoning have just gone out the window and you're left only the parts of the brain that tell you to do stupid stuff, cuz you're drunk and its fun. *rolls eyes* Which is why ppl always do stupid stuff when drunk. You're right, wendy... It does smell pretty damn bad, but some alcohol actually tastes really sweet... Like tequila... If you mix tequila with fruit juice its suddenly very sweet and you can't taste the liquor at all. Mm, love pineapple rum. <3 Wow, your friend must have been totally sloshed... |
