Lore whirled and her hand flew to her sword "What th- The woods must be crawling with people tonight!" Cautiously she approached where Nava was and looked up "And who are you my fine feathered friend? No need for alarm, we won't hurt you if you have no intention of hurting us."

Xilent blinked and narrowed his eye at the two female figures below him. He wondered why he was just called a 'feathered friend' when he had not a feather on it, except for his hat ... he wasn't even WEARING his hat today. He heard her hand rest cautiously on her sword, the one that joined the woman that startled him. He said nothing, and made no noise. It continued to watch the two, and listening. The rain was distracting him again, listening to each drop hit every leaf and wrinkle of clothing. Ugh.

More curious than before, Nava flew disappeared behind a tree and flew up to where the guy was.
"So, what's your name?" She landed on the branch and sat down next to him. She knew that she had probably scared him, but she had made so many friends already that she didn't mind having another one. |
He watched one of the girls disappear. His ears twitched at every little sound, waiting for her to re-appear, probably somewhere far away he hoped, but in reality, probably very close to him. Xilent stood on the branch with perfect balance, the umbrella still in hand and above his head in a relaxed manner. As the girl appear he scowled to her and walked very, very close to her. His face inches from hers. His electric eye glaring at her.
" Didn't your mother ever teach you manners? " Xilent said coldly, and then back up, crouched, and launched higher into the tree. He walked from one thick branch, to a thick branch of the tree directly across from them and leaned on the bark. |
Lore chuckled "I can't speak for Nava, but personally no. All I want to know is who you are and if you mean up any harm. Why don't you come on down so we can talk like civilized folk?"

His eyes relaxed, but he did not come down.
" I don't mean harm to anyone who knows respectable boundaries for personal space. " Xilent replied, making it clear that he didn't want to be crowded; now, or ever. He wanted to paint a perfect image of the fact that he didn't like people around him at all, especially not pestering him just for his name, following him like a flea on a dog. " I don't intend to cause any harm to anyone here. Whoever anyone is. " The half bind boy stated, suggesting that he wanted to know who they were first, before giving away is own identity. He could smell them; they were different. Not human at all. Were there some? Maybe. But the two of them, he wasn't convinced. But there were also other that were probably overpowering what scents he took in. |
"Well, I'm Lore, that's Nava up by you. Ouna, Miru and Donny are over by the coffin thing. We're all travelers swept together by the rains and winds of chance. Now it seems you have been added to that number." Lore rubbed the back of her neck and twisted until she read a crack. "I can't speak for the others, but I'm willing to share what I have should you need it. Please come down though, I'm hurting my neck trying to look up at you."

"I'll share..." said Donny, "but not until you sign a contract promising repayment within several different perameters, blah-blah... anyhoo, coffin time." and he signals to his golem, and as the Golem lifts the lid...

"Why'd you have to go and remind me of my lousy parents?" Nava frowned at the new comer, deciding that she didn't want to be friends with this kind of guy.
She hmphed and then flew back by Donny, waiting anxiously for the golem to open the mysterious coffin. |
As the lid opened, an ear-shattering scream pierced the air.
"HOW DARE YOU OPEN MY COFFIN!" a figure stood, shadows clinging to it like an inky veil, obscuring it's features. The figure reached out towards the Golem, and a bright red pulse smashed into it's chest, causing it to begin to melt to runny, grainy slag. With that, the figure crouched, and leapt into the trees in a whirl of dark robes, trailing a black mist. "Well... that was... unexpected." Donny peered into the trees, his hand reaching into a pocket for something. |
Nava was surprised by the guy who seemed to pop out and yell at them before running off. She stood by with a confused frown on her face.
"Dang, I was so sure there was going to be something valuable inside," she sighed and looked at Donny, "What was that guy?" |
Lore's eyes narrowed. She was tempted to go after the thing in the coffin, to find out what it was and neutralize it as a threat if nothing else, but that would mean abandoning her other... was companions even the right word for them? Fellow STRANGERS. The rain was beginning to lift as she made her decision and returned her attention to the larger group. "Since we are all cohabitating the same area, I propose we make camp together for safety, the sun has long set, and I would think that everyone needs rest." She looked back up at the man in the tree and beckoned him down. "Come, share our fire and company for the night and in the morning we can all go our separate ways."

"Fine with me," Nava replied to Lore with a smile, "After all, I wouldn't want to spend my first night of freedom alone!"

Miru nodded "do we have to our seperat ways?"she didn't want to go home to what was waiting for her

Lore sat down in the mud and rested up against a tree, hood pulled low as she appeared to relax "Well what you do is up to you, but I have a job to do and I have tarried here to long already. Come sun up I will be moving on, what you, or anyone does, is no ones business but your own." With a sigh she rubbed at her forehead "We probably should take watch though, any volunteers?"

"There's no need for keeping watch," a glowing blue circle expanded from Nava's body to include everyone there in it and then disappeared, "My barrier will protect us from anything we need be frightened of out here. It will appear invisible to the eye but nothing will be able to enter without my permission."

"I, for one, vote for a watch to be kept, regardless. I trust open eyes more than warding spells, and with good reason. I of all people know that they can be gotten past, with the right spells or alchemical powders." Donny glanced over at the oozing remains of his golem. "I'll take first watch." He drew a set of deeply tinted glasses out of one of his belt pouches, and placed them on his nose. That's better. Nothing like darkvision to make the night a more pleasant environment.

"Well, if you insist," Nava sighed and laid out by a tree, "Wake me up whenever it's my turn for watch."
She easily fell into a deep sleep, escaping from their home did make one tired. |

Amorette was walking merrily down a path within the forest, a nice full large pouch dangled on her belt. Early, she had robbed a woman in a little house; using her skills, she tricked woman that she was lost and once inside, she did her deed. But something perturbed her; the woman gave an awful shriek just before Amorette knocked her out. What happens if someone heard the shriek? She looked around at this dense forest she was in. "Oh what am I worrying about? Who would be in such a forest like this? Maybe some stragglers.." She continued to walk on; dreaming of what fine items she could buy with her reward. |
Nava woke suddenly, as the smell of another demon such as herself suddenly blew to her with the wind.
"Shit," she stood up, suddenly alert and on guard. What if it was a demon warrior from her kingdom, come to take her back to her awful parents and disgusting fiance. "I'll be right back," she told the others before flying up to a tree and jumping around it until she could see the path. Sure enough, there was a girl in a cloak walking down the road and the horns made it clear that she was a demon as well. Having met only a handful of Demon Warriors in her lifetime, Nava couldn't be certain if this girl was one or not. On the other hand, she had been educated about wild demons which were born and raised around humans. Maybe this girl was one of them. The hope that maybe she could help her out, Nava decided to approach her. "Who are you?" she questioned as her barrier surged strongly around her, just in case this girl did turn out to be a Demon Warrior from her kingdom. |
Startled by the figure who approached her strongly; she was slightly dumbstrucked how fast someone had found her. The worst thing was, she couldn't lie her way from this other demon.
"I-I am just a wandering adventurer", she managed to stammer out with a half smile. Well part of it was true; so she didn't exactly lie. She hoped she could pull this one off. |
Nava was still suspicious, but the fact that the girl was not attacking her was proof enough that she wasn't there to drag her back to the demon kingdom.
"My name is Nava," she introduced herself as she walked closer to the girl, "What is yours?" She would not give out her last name, in case the girl was a free lancer for the demon kingdom. That way she would not be recognized. |
"Amorette", she gave a small bow of her head. She didn't know where this was all going.
Was this just a greet and farewell? How pointless. But wait, perhaps, she has company? Friends were bound to have something valuable on them. Ooh, she liked the thought of that, her tail curled underneath her cloak in delight. "What brings you to these parts of the woods? Shouldn't you be dining upon a luxurious feast in some ravishing castle?" Nava seemed high class to Amorette, and she certainently didn't want to offend her at all costs. |
Nava made a note to buy some common clothes in the next town.
"Nice to meet you, Amorette," she smiled at the girl, "I was just walking towards the next town and decided to rest for the night under the trees." It wasn't a lie, but it also wasn't the complete truth. "Now that you mention it, I am a bit hungry." Nava's stomach growled as if on command and she blushed a little. She had forgotten to take some food with her since she had been more focused on her escape then what she would do after she did escape. She didn't even know how to hide her wings from the humans! |
Despite the fact she barely knew Nava, she felt more at ease being with another demon. She reached into her cloak to retrieve something; a jingling sound came from within. She pulled out her hand and revealed some golden coins.
"Well, I'll offer to buy some food if you know where the next closest village is," Amorette smiled sweetly at her. Perhaps she could have an alliance with this girl; she seemed trustworthy enough. |
