"Oh, that's ok," Nava smiled, "I have money of my own and wouldn't feel right if I took yours. The problem I have is that I don't know my way around this place and therefore have no idea where the next town is."
"I met some other people out here as well," she had decided that Amorette was trustworthy enough to tell, "We are all sleeping in the trees over there while we take turns keeping watch. You're welcome to join us." "Anyway, I have gone much longer without food before. It will be easy to wait until the morning." Even though she was a princess of the Demon Kingdom, Nava was punished for wrong doings like any other child there. Any time she did something bad, she would be locked in her room for week without food. She shook her head, effectively wiping those bad memories away like an etch-a-sketch. |
She became a little disappointed from Nava's answer; for she wanted to do something active; the idea of resting seemed rather unpleasant.
"You sure?" Amorette attempted one more time. "I really don't mind at all, and we could do some good by bringing food to your companions. Because there must be a village somewhere near by." "I kinda want to give them a good impression if I joined you, since they all trust you but as for me.." She paused wearing a troubled expression. "I could seem like a "bad" demon." And I don't want to deal with more suspicion either. She thought about the items she carried too. She had a cloak and everything but if they got a peep inside they would see many different vials attatched to her belt along with a dagger and knuckles. I'm pretty sure if they got a look at that; they wouldn't feel quite cozy. |
Full Name; Morgana Lee (AKA: Morgan)
Played by; Nanenna Gender; Female Age; 22 Race; Human Appearance; Of mixed descent with some Asian apparent in her features. She's about 5'2'' with straight, black hair and warm green eyes. Faint marks similar to tiger stripes cover her from head to toe and she usually dresses in long sleeves and pants to cover them up. Personality; Usually gentle, serene, and happy but never off her guard. She can be vicious when she feels threatened, and can come off very strong when first met as she is always suspicious of people she's not familiar with. Due to her martial arts training she enjoys sparing with anyone who proves to be a competent fighter. Abilities/Methods of Combat; Fights with an enchanted Chinese sword that she has trained with since she was a small child, she's also skilled in unarmed martial arts but prefers her sword when faced with real danger. Morgan also learned the magic for shape shifting into various felines with forms from as small as an orange tabby house cat up to her newly acquired form of a tiger the size of the average human male. Quirky Facts; Morgan Holmes has rather active sense of humor and will quickly warm up to people who can make her laugh. A runt of a tabby cat sat high up in a tree with a travel pack hanging from the branch above her. She yawned languidly and flicked some excess liquid from her ear, lowering her head to her paws she closed her eyes and prepared to sleep for the night. She had heard some commotion nearby but was too tired from travel and fighting the rain to worry about it. Perhaps she'd investigate in the morning if whatever had caused the commotion was still there. ((This looks like an interesting RP and I'd like to join but I'm really posting this as a bookmark as introducing yet another character in the middle of the night seems... a bit much. Feel free to bump into me if you're up to it.)) |
"Well, that does sound like a very good idea," Nava looked down the road, not seeing any lights that might point out that there was a town nearby, "If you're sure it is close, then I will accompany you there. Let me go see if any of the others would like to join us or not first. I'll be right back."
With that said, Nava ran back into the forest and found the place where all the others were staying. "Hey everyone," she called out to get their attention, "I just met another demon on the road. She seems very nice and we are both hungry. Therefore, we will be walking to the next town since she thinks it is close by." She looked to each person, one at a time, "Would anyone like to join us?" (( I hope everyone is still RPing here, because I thought that it'd be rude to just leave without inviting them along... )) |
Lore started from her uneasy slumber. "Another demon? I know the location of the next town, but I prefer to not travel at night, and in the company of an unknown demon no less. I have food to share with you if you should wish. Donny? What say you? Ouna? Everyone?" Lore shifted her pose slightly to allow for easier access to her sword should she require it. Unlike Donny she was not loaded in magical items, but she had a few things that aided her, not the least a nice charm that made fighting with a sword a viable option.

As she waited for Nava to come back, her worries grew stronger. In order for her to join a group, she would have to gain trust, and if that trust was broken, she knew there would be dire consequences. She had traveled alone for some time that traveling with others wasn't something she was quite acquainted too.
Amorette became more fearful of the situation. She was scared, frightened of them now. She stood there trembling as she thought about what could happen to her. If they found out about her past crimes; would they accept her still? Or would they turn her in. Her heart plummented to her stomach just thinking about it. They wouldn't, why would they? They don't need to know about my past. All I do is play along with them, I'll become friends and I'll make an excuse to go somewhere and there! She grinned to herself. That's what will happen. She faced the direction Nava ran and waited with a new feeling confidence. |
"Well, it seems like the one I trust the most is going to stay here," Nava walked out of the forest and stopped in front of Amorette, "I, myself, love being active at night. So, let's get going to the next town, shall we?"
Nava couldn't afford to lose the one person that could help her. She realized that she had begun to trust Amorette more than the others, which may have been because she was of the same species. |
"Great!" Her tailed curled in delight for Nava changing her mind. "But..what about your wings? Did you want to borrow my cloak?" I'm just worried about how others may react, sometimes people can behave aggressively."
She lifted up her cloak from the back and showed her tail. "This is the only reason I'm wearing this. As for my horns, I can just fool people I'm some sort of sheep demon, so it's not as scary." "Besides.." She cut off Nava before she could give her answer. "Your wings are more noticeable and you'll need this more than me." Amorette spoke warmly toward her new companion. She curled her tail so it'd look like rope and then handed her cloak to Nava. ((No one else is alive in this RP, should we wait for them to come alive? o_o)) |
"Oh, thank you," Nava smiled as she took the cloak and draped it around her, "I was wondering about things such as these."
"I was raised in the Demon Kingdom, so I don't know much about the human lands." This was more than she had wanted to give away, but to learn anything about this new land, she would have to let Amorette know where she was coming from. (( We should just keep going and when they "wake up" they can just have their characters following ours if they wanted to come ;) )) |
Amorette just smiled from Nava's answer. "It's not that hard actually, being around humans I mean. They're so easy to fool, you basically can get away with anything," she said with a smirk.
"But I'll help you out since these are new to you, but you'll get the hang of it." She looked around and listened for any noise within the woods. "Hmm, there's a slight dilemma." She was looking to see which way to take. "Do you think you can hop into a tree and see if there's any village nearby? And then we can start from there and head towards it." |
"Of course," she grinned at her new friend as she took the cloak off and used her wings to fly into the air. She was a little embarrassed to find that she hadn't thought of this in the first place, but she didn't care much about it when she saw the lights of a village about a mile away from where they were.
"It's actually really close," Nava had flown back down and was now cloaked and standing by Amorette again, "It's just about a mile more down this road." |
Morgan grumbled as she fidgeted on her branch. 'I don't get it, I spent all day trudging along that stupid road in the rain, I'm so tired I can't even think but I can't sleep. Just because I'm a cat right now shouldn't mean I have to be awake at night.' With a huff she stood up on the branch and stretched, shifting into a larger form, about the size of a lynx, and grabbing her traveling pack before climbing down from the tree. She skirted the road, twining in and out of the trees next to it to avoid the muddy road.
((I know I said I was going to wait until morning RP time but I got impatient and since most of the people vanished I thought I may as well join you now. And hint: Morgan does have a bit of a magical aura that a character sensitive to magic *coughdemonscough* would sense when close to her.)) |
[Terribly sorry, but, to me, even that is not enough. My internet was disconnected for a while and only recently was I able to connect again.]
The casket, now empty and looking quite shoddy, was turned on its side, the tarp still hanging off of it. It now smelt of mildew and rain after its long experience in heavy rain, damp mud, and sunlight. No longer was the silver vining there, and the beautiful, silver-craft rose on the lid of the casket was now tarnished and black. The entire casket seemed to have endured ages of elements in merely days. Was it the creature that had slumbered inside keeping it so beautiful...? - - - - - - - - - - - - Some distance away from the casket. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "Bloody hell..." a voice hissed. Sunlight shot through some trees, blinding the fair looking man for a moment. He raised a hand as his pupils contracted as much as they could before he lowered it again to dive under the surface of the freshwater stream. His eyes glittered like diamonds, but they had a dark gleam, they had the look of a predator. He lowered his head and glanced behind him. He had left the casket. How long had he been slumbering, he wondered. But what he was most curious about, is why his casket was in the middle of some blasted road. Clenching his teeth, his jaw could be seen tightening. Diamond eyes held a look of annoyance at the question. The young man remained silent for sometime before letting out an upset groan. Angry was not an emotion he was able to keep. Disappointment, yes, but anger, no. He was far too positive for that. He stood, wringing out the red button-up he was washing and looked around him. "Well Zane... Now what?" he asked himself. The vampyre ancient was clueless on where his life would lead him now. He was supposed to be woken by his old clanmembers, but then again, things don't always go according to plan. |
Nava had walked to the town with Amorette and after eating dinner, she had used the gold she brought with her to rent a room at the inn. She had woken up really early, sometime in the afternoon, and found she couldn't go back to sleep. Demon's were a nocturnal race; they usually slept during the day and came out at night. It wasn't that the daylight hurt them, it was more of the fact that their powers weakened during the day and they would become sleepy.
Since it had been awhile since Nava walked in the sunlight, she decided to go for a stroll in the woods, where she could enjoy the sunlight without it being directed at her. After a half hour, she began to get thirsty and was overjoyed when she heard the sound of a stream. "Water!" Nava exclaimed while running towards the sound. She ran out to find a clearing with a small stream. She bent down to take a drink before she noticed the man on the other side. "Oh, hello there," she beamed at the young man. Nava was so happy this day, since it was her first day of freedom, that she didn't think of the man being suspicious in any way. Even thought her powers were weakened during the day and she couldn't smell if he was a human or not, Nava was still overjoyed to meet more people on the outside of her kingdom. (( Just to let ya know since you haven't been here for awhile: Nava is a princess of the Demon Kingdom who ran away so she could be free of an arranged marriage. She has small black bat wings. )) |
((I hope it isn't too late to join the rp. Oh, almost forgot, Holmes))
Breathing heavily, Yin Li Xue ran as fast as her human legs would carry her. The young tiger demon was only five feet tall with an athletic build, pale skin, slant deep blue eyes, and sleek jet black hair falling just past her shoulders. She wore leather armor that covered her torso, forearms, a leather war skirt, and leather boots, all black over a black leggings and a creme colored tunic. At her hip was a slim, single hand, double edged sword. Everything she wore was plain and simple, though she looked strange enough to begin with she felt it unnecessary to have elaborately designed garments to draw futher attention to herself. She could already feel the warmth of the morning sun as she navigated through the forest. At twenty-one years of age, she was still considered a cub by the standards of tiger demons but she was more mature and responsible than the others in her age range, besides that. Li was one of the only people the chief's son trusted. With the chief on his deathbed it was all the more important the letter she carried reach the son. Li knew this fact, it was why she had not stopped traveling since leaving the village. Her body was growing weak and traveling last night during the storm had done nothing for her health either but Li was too stubborn to stop. |
Having finally gotten some sleep during the darkest hours of the night Morgan stretched and yawned before transforming back to her natural, human, form and shouldering her pack. She was pleased to find that most of the area had dried after the raging storm and happily dug through her pack for some jerky and her cask of water. Unfortunately during breakfast she had used up the last of her water and decided to search through the woods and find a suitable source of water to freshen up in and fill her cask.
After some time walking she finally came across a lovely stream and happily splashed her and generally enjoyed the frigid water as she quickly stripped down to her underclothes and dove in. Though the water was quite cold so she quickly got out and dried off as best she could, changing into some fresh travel clothes and promising herself a proper bath and freshly laundered clothes in the next town. After packing up her worn clothes with the rest of her things the young woman decided to try and follow the stream to the source to fill her water cask with. After heading up stream quite a few yards she found a pair of strange folk sitting on opposite sides of the stream staring oddly at each other. "Oh, good morning. I didn't expect to see anyone else out here right now." |
"Good morning!" Nava beamed at the new girl with excitement. The outside world was full of so many surprises, it was amazing that the demon kingdom thought it was so dull!
"Nor did I," she stood up and smiled at the girl, "My name is Nava. I was just taking a stroll through the forest when I heard this stream and came for a drink." Nava glanced at the beautiful, but very pale guy on the other side of the stream. Would he introduce himself as well? He seemed to be kind of a quiet guy though and he emitted a strong powerful aura that seemed a little familiar to Nava. |
Zane eyed the two women will a cool gaze. He was a little surprised to be confronted, but he hadn't seen another moving thing for ages. Just the back of his eyelids. His diamond eyes switched between each of the ladies, studying them both. Finally, he spoke up, deciding he'd better since it was best not to be rude.
"Hello," he said smoothly, still working on wringing out his red button-up. He didn't really like damp clothes. He had been in a sour mood when he had crawled out of the casket only to be welcomed by fat drops of rain. Unconsciously, he clenched his jaw at the memory. When his shirt was more dry than wet, Zane set to work on slipping it over his shoulders and buttoning it, though oddly enough, his eyes never rested anywhere else but on the young ladies. They smelt different. A little familiar, but the scent still wasn't spot on in his memory. Once his shirt was buttoned, he gave a slight bow, ready to introduce himself entirely. "My name is Zane Abel Ferris," he left out the fact that his status was equal to that of a prince. Vampyre ancients his age weren't common any longer, especially ones as powerful as himself. |
Morgan bowed back to Zane politely, then bowed to Nava as well. "My name is Morgan Lee, it's a pleasure to meet both of you." She was trying to guage how relaxed to be around either one, the girl had a pair of bat wings and was probably a demon of some kind. The man... she had no idea what to make of him, he had a strange aura that she couldn't quite identify. Perhaps if she turned into a cat her heightened senses... she shook her head. No giving away her trump card quite yet.
She quickly stepped past both people to fill her cask from the stream. "Isn't weather after a storm always so fresh and clean smelling?" She smiled happily at both of them as she replaced the cap on her cask and stowed it away in her travel pack and slung it back on her shoulders. "By chance would either of you know if there are any towns nearby?" |
Zane watched one of the females as she approached the water. He could sense their confusion at his atmosphere. True, vampyre ancients were not as easy to identify, not like the fledglings of his kind. But their confusion and pondering amused him.
"No. I'm new to this region," he said calmly. He was clueless of this area. He was quite aways from where his casket was held, and the landscape had changed quite a bit since he first slept still. "Sorry." he said and tilted his head, running his fingers through his hair. |
"Nice to meet you Morgan and Zane," Nava gave a slight bow as well. She had never given a bow, even a slight one, to someone of lower status then herself in the demon kingdom, but it appeared that it was some form of greeting here, not a reminder of rank.
"I actually just came from a town," Nava replied to Morgan's question with a smile, "I could take you there, if you want." Whiling waiting for Morgan to reply, Nava eyed Zane. There was something very familiar about his scent and presence. Suddenly, her mind went back to the night before, about 30 minutes after she had escaped from the Demon Kingdom. "Wait," Nava curiously looked at Zane's clothes, "This might be a weird question, but do you own a coffin?" She couldn't be sure, but Zane gave off the same scent and presence as the coffin that got thrown out of a carriage and hit her last night. 'hmmm...coffin + beautiful guy = ...' The lightbulb turned on in Nava's head, so to speak, and if this was the same guy from last night, she was sure that he must be a vampire! Then she saw the sunlight coming through the branches of the trees around them, and wavered in her accusation. |
"Oh excellent, I'm very glad there's a town near by as my supplies are running low, I only have one loaf of hard bread left and some jerky. Er... are either of you hungry? I'd be happy to share." Morgan offered happily. She had enough saved up from her last job to buy some new supplies but she'd have to find employment if she wanted to have more than one night's lodging.
At the strange girl's question she looked at the man questioningly. A coffin? That's a very strange question to ask out of the middle of no where. Why would she think this man owned a coffin? Who would... oh man! I think she's a demon and she thinks he's a vampire?! Isn't it only the ones who are very powerful that can be out during the day? Morgan was trying to push down her panic, they both seemed nice enough but they could both be very dangerous creatures and she wasn't sure her sword skills would be enough if one or both became aggressive and she didn't know any kind of spells. What do I do? What do I do? |
"No thank you, miss," he replied to the food offer. He wasn't hungry at the moment. Besides, the food would have to have to have a little blood for him to stomache it. But he didn't plan on blurting that out.
Then the question popped up. His coffin. Well...it used to be. If he wanted to hide his panic, Zane was doing a pretty good job of doing so. The calm smile and cool gaze remained on his pale face. He cound sense their curiousity. Though he hoped fear wouldn't bubble up as well. With a smirk, he prepared his answer. "No, I do not, miss," Technically, this was the truth. He had owned a coffin, but that beautiful piece was now a rotting pile of wood and tarnished silver. He knew it would lose its luster and beauty once he left its insides, but it hurt seeing such a beautiful piece waste away before his eyes. |
Amorette had successfully stolen a nice pouch of gold coins. The human never suspected of it and she was greatly excited to show Nava, perhaps they could get new clothes. The idea was exciting, so she rushed to meet Nava.
"NAVA LOOK WHAT I GO-" Amorette came to a screeching halt and stared dumbfounded at the two newcomers. "Err, Haah, Hey there.." She quickly shoved a heavy leather pouch away behind her and gave out a smile. Dammit, where are these buffoons coming from? She didn't like the idea of more travelers nor befriending them. Hopefully they won't stay long. ((Sorry for not being alive, SCHOOL EATS LIFE)) |
(( haha its ok...same is happening to me XD ))
"Oh," Nava replied dumbly. She felt awkward and blushed, but her senses were still telling her that something was off about Zane. She could have swore that the coffin that hit her out on the road last night had the same presence as him. Suddenly, Amorette came out of no where. She must've known to look in the woods for her. "Hey," she smiled at Amorette and pointed accordingly, "I just met these two here. This is Zane and Morgan." |
