"The point what I'm trying to get to though is you can make one person leave, but no matter what people will keep coming, they wont stop trying to kill the forest." Hogarth said, sliding his hand out from her's. "How are you going to stop all those people from coming to kill the forest?" He asked, looking at all the element users. "Humans are stubborn, and no matter what you'll do as long as there is human there will be something they are trying to get, with no care of what they are hurting or doing." Hogarth said, leaning his head against the tree. "So your plan must consist of how to get humans away from the forest, without harming them, but at the same time keeping them away." His eyes closed, the heat from the sun was bearing down on him, and he couldn't stand it in the opening of the forest leaves. Standing up he walked to a shady tree, whipping the sweat from his brows with his sleeve, and closing his eyes once again, feeling the gentle breeze cool down his body while he sat comfortably in the shade.

Kai sighed then looked around "if we cloak the forest and make it appear as an already constructed neighborhood i think we'll be fine" when she spoke her voice held an element she herself didnt recognize--confidence.

Nick glanced up from where he was sitting. "You could try forming a shield you know. one that could encircle the edges of your lands and make it appear like a large mountain or desert.. something people wouldn't come to live in.."

"good idea big brother!" she giggled and pounced on nick again in midair she shifted into a cat and purred loudly while rubbing against him

Nick chuckled and caught her. "You missy are gonna give a fella a heart attack you keep doing that..what if i don't catch you in time.."

Shin threw up her hands, "Personally, I agree. The way it works now is that aside from our duties of tending to the forests, we examine all visitors from a distance, approach if nessacary, and determine their intent towards the forest and if they're a danger. If they are, they're escorted out or dealt with. If not they are free to go on their way. There is a tenuous balance. The problem is that there are only these pockets of forest left, cut off from water, animals and other trees. There is a cycle to the forest, and it has been interrupted. No new plants can come, the water is less or worse, the animals are trapped or dead. We cannot win, we can only survive."

Kai looked at nick with an innocent smile pressing against him again with ears perked and tail twitching "sorry, i cant help it you're my only family and well... i love it!" giggling she looked over at shin in response to her talking, when she was finished she looked at nick "we can try and connect it again right? Are you up to it?" when she asked the intended to help unaware of how she could though "shin" she said while looking up at her "we'll do everything we can, how are the forests connected?"

"Well to a certain extent, spiritually, through my people. We have the ability to... well you've seen how I can travel through trees, our strongest can travel far enough to reach other forests. But the physical ties have been severed. The Highways slaughter the migrating herds, those that aren't shot, and my people are left to try and compensate for everything that has gone missing while somehow maintaining the balance. Pruning certain trees, nurturing others, but we are over worked, and there are too few of us. Unless we can somehow obtain enough magic to make a series of permenant portals so things can travel without human interference once again, I don't know what we can do."

kai nodded and stood up going back to her human appearence, she yawned before pressing her hands to the ground "if we plant trees and speed up their growth we may be able to.. the high ways, the herds.. i've got it!" Kai shrieked pressing her hands to her temples something was happening, something no one could see right away. That's when it happened, a herd of animals came stumbling through "if we change their direction shey will be able to reach all forests, all we need to do is strategically plant trees between where the ties were severed and shouldnt things start coming back for your people?"

Shin blinked "I... I don't know. Perhaps if there was no interference from the humans, yes, it would. But this plan would send herds across highways, or plant trees in cities, burst dams and reverse the landscape a thousand years. Our balance would be broken and the humans would attack. Dryads as a race are not very warlike, but there are denizens of the forest that would fight."

kai blinked "we could tunnel underground to continue contact with your people" she suggested remembering the many caverns she and Makawee created just hours earlier "if we disguise your forests the humans wont attack, if we reroute the herds to courses avoiding highways and housing developments then that should be fine, right" she expressed concern with a great passion unable to understand why.

Shin scratched her head "It's possible, but I do not think that there is any way to reroute the herds. Human paths crisscross this planet like interlacing branches of trees. The herds might have to go through the tunnels as well. It is not an easy plan, but it may be possible."

"if we can get into the minds of each animal and re-route them that way we should be fine, they understand if you speak their language, it's like us, you dont understand a language you've never spoken" while her and shin calculated all of the possibilities, kai became more and more excited.

History: Part faerie, and part human, and was raised in France.

-Current History- Born in southern France to a human mother, with a fae father. At age fourteen was taken from her mother and brought to live with her father's people. Has since seperated from the fae clan, time is different amongst the faes and currently is a nomad. Has the body type of a fae, height of a human, with pointed ears and long light blonde hair. Very clever and known to pick-pocket when needed.

-Present- Prances along a pile of leafs and tosses a few in the air. She breathes in the soft smell of the forest and leans against a tree to pick-up a small ladybug. She places the ladybug on her chest and races along the trees, sliding in the dirt as the places the ladybug on a flower. "Here you go, dear." She smiles at it and begins to walk away.

She starts to hum a fae folk song to entertain herself and brushes a twig out of her long mane of hair. The sun shines down on her and she adjusts her off the shoulder shirt and picks a leaf off her shorts. She bends down to tie her shoes and notices a small tigerlily dangling from it's stem. She reaches over and takes a bit out of the flower. "Hm tastes the same as it use to," she mumbles to herself and takes another bite till all that is left is the stem.

Remie turns around and starts to deeper into the forest, listening for any signs of life and entertainment.

"You'll are not thinking about the humans once again, your just thinking of you'll self." Hogarth interrupted, at this point becoming agitated with them. "If you'll start taking trees away from humans, Humans will start to die, think about it with no trees humans that adapted to their air conditioning, and all their comforts of living inside will disappear and humans will start to turn into their primal stage." Hogarth said, looking at the whole group. "For every action there is a reaction. For every reaction there are consequences, all the choices you'll make will either commit war with humans or kill them off. all they want to do is conquer and destroy." Hogarth said, being a human himself he didn't care about anyone else, He only cared for himself, his selfishness made him what he was today a surviver and a good fighter. Or so he thought. "Either kill off the humans by taking their resources, or have them commit war and kill us one by one." Hogarth said, not caring about the choice at this point. "Animals, all animals can do is gallop get hit with cars while in the middle of the highway, they are prey not hunters." Hogarth said closing his eyes once again, his head against the bark of the tree.

Nick chuckled. "Technically your both right and wrong. Man, or Human's in this case, CAN adapt to quit ea bit. but at the same time are a rather..barbaric group of people. while the gallop ahead to their future they destroy their own world. why not just teach them how to co exist.. start with a small band and slowly increase the number so that they rather then destroy the trees know not to harm living ones. I mean enough dead fall falls that it's quite easy to have fire without cutting down an old tree.. there are some areas that yes it would be difficult to help them adapt but if they knew magic existed they wouldn't need a lot of the things they do now."

kai curled into a ball, she was getting so many negative views into hogarth that tears streamed down her face, all she wanted to do was help and obviously that wasnt going to happen, she bit her lower lip trying to stifle herself as much as possible, which, obviously wasnt going to happen when she gasped for air with a shakey voice she looked up at shin "i dont know what to do.. no matter what i think of it's wrong in Hogarth's eyes..." kai got behind nick pressing her fact into his back like a scared child. She knew who to turn to when she felt defeated, thankfully it was him and not the blade.

Nick glared at the other male wanting to slap him upside the head. "And your thinking in terms of yourself. if you WANT to help your stupid race then why not try and think of NON violent ways to save it." his eye's flashed gold and energy that was NOT earth energy crackled along his skin. ohh yeah he might look human but he wasn't entirely and he did not think like a human.. maybe an overly emotional girl after his life but still.

kai's tears slowly stopped themselves and she attempted to calm down, she 'hiffed' a few times, gasped as well then crawled out from behind nick still leaning against him, when she did she pressed into the energy which gave her a small shock like when you run you are shocked by a static charge. She looked at Hogarth with eyes of sadness, she knew these may very well be the eyes he'd seen in his sister so long ago.

Hogarth smiled, his eyes closed. "Because humans are what turned me into what I am." Hogarth said, opening his eyes to look at Nick. "Humans are nothing but killers and murders." he continued, his head straightening. "I am a fine example of a human, the kinda human you will find out there that wont give a dang about anything, and what does that kinda human do?" Hogarth said, standing to his feet, and slicing a branch of a tree off with his blade. "That kinda human does things with no regret, no mercy, Nothing to hold him back." Hogarth said, stepping closer to see Kai, her tears rolling down her face, he remembered the tears rolling down his sister's face as though he had just murdered her, he shifted his stare from Kai, sliding his sword back into its case, and taking a seat in the shade to calm down. "Humans will do what they want they proved it millions of times over." Hogarth said, calming down just a little, cleaning the sweat from his brow with his sleeve.

Nick flinched. reminded of his uncle. "No I believe in the good in every creature just because I don't trust right away I do know there's good in humans. look at Kai, she's good. Shin well she's an elemental but she's human smart, she's good. I won't believe the worst in a species that is just..behind in the times.." he muttered. forcing himself to calm down.

"Nick your plan is a good plan, but when humans have us helping them with the knowing of magic, imagine the things they will do to you'll. Government wanting to do test to see if they can use you'll powers for war, People coming from all over the world to stop in the forest and use you'll as intertainment so they can see you'll power, never able to walk out next to man without having one of them judge you." Hogarth said. "Revealing yourself probably isn't the best choice, some humans will come to help you'll but other humans are only impacted on the things that are good for them, people will lose lumber jobs and become out raged when they aren't allowed to cut down trees." He continued, looking at Nick.

Nick glared back eye's narrowing. tested? for what.. magic was there for anyone with the sense to feel it and use it correctly. war? he'd rather cut off his own hand then use his gift to kill innocent people just because they disagreed. he rubbed at his face. "I wish we could start the world over. repair it take it back to when it was younger and teach humans from there. I mean there were less of them.."
