Nick stared at the male. Well how do you get someone to talk to you. when they couldn't understand. the man was unarmed. of course he was reacting hostily. "I think he wants his spear back. he feels threatend.. i'm not sure but Im getting the feeling that's his only wepon left and you just took it away.." he thought and searched his pockets.. he had put a hunting knife in one of his pockets. his pants had four sets. the normal 'pockets' and then down a bit on the upper thights those things that had flaps that you could put more stuff in. he found it in the left 'thight' pocket and pulled it out. he made a sharp whistle to catch the Vikings attetnion and held it up. "I give you this you don't attack us.." his tone was irritated. it was.. well Iron.. not ture silver or metal.. but it was hsarp and would work great on skinning.. and maybe tanning a hide.. he didn't know the 'tree lady' or the Nymph was alergic to metal.. so he saw no harm in giving hte male a much shorter wepon but one that would make him feel a bit more 'comfortable' with two 'enemys' around him. not that Nick had much juice left he was running on the very last of it to.*

Shin sighed "Please don't give the barbarian pointy things, he might use them to attack me, or you for that matter." She shook her head and tried harder to remember her lessons in this language. It had been years... "Calm. Not threat. Peace, talk? Food?" She shook her head despondently. Bloody stubborn barbarian. Traipsing through her woods and jabbing metal at her.

He looked over at the mage who held up the knife. He didn't feel the need to accept a weapon that was no longer then his thumb. Instead he looked back at the dryad who was dribbling off words in several different languages. He grumbled something under his breath and lobbed the rock he was holding at her, it was a decent sized rock, abut the size of his fist.

Nick saw the rock go flying and reached deep inside his hand launching out and..the rock slowed and came to a spinning stop just an inch from the Dryad's face. his hand shook and a small trickle of blood worked its way from one nostral. which wasn't good it ment he'd gone OVER what he was able to handle. knees buckling he ended up in a heap on the ground the rock falling with a soft thud to the earth as well as nick knelt there, not really of his own choice, the world spun and he desperately wanted off the ride he was on. 'i think im gonna lay down now..' he thought fuzzily and his body tipped tothe side as blackness swam up and Slapped him with a mean right hook. well he wouldn't be interacting until a few hours later..meaning the Drayad needed to get the barbarian to stop tryign to kill her.*

Shin nearly gaped as the rock slowed to a stop in front of her. She saw the mage collapse and her eyes went cold. She wanted nothing more then to smack the barbarian senseless while shouting at him in whatever languages she could think of, but it wouldn't accomplish anything. Instead she tossed him back his spear with disdain and moved to check on the mage, ensuring that he would be alright, occasionally casting angry looks at the barbarian over her shoulder.

Concobhar moved closer as well to get a good look at the mage. He reached over with the spear and nudged him a little to see if he was even still alive. Every time the dryad would shoot him an evil look he would shoot it right back at her, except he would add a few lines of pointless shouting in on it.

Shin would have rolled her eyes, but she was focused on the young mage. He would be alright, he was just over exerted. She swatted the spear to the side when he poked the mage with it though. If he kept that up... No, she was a guardian of the forest, she had to take the high road. Once she insured the the mage would be alright she turned to the barbarian with arms folded across her chest and glared at him. Once he wore himself down she would try talking to him once more.

He went on and on yelling before eventually becoming bored and focusing on poking at the mage again. He seemed to be trying to ignore the tree-woman now, he crouched down beside the mage and poked at his clothes, they were unfamilliar to him..and somewhat weird. He located that poocketknife he had held up earlier and looked at the blade...then to the tree woman. A smile seemed to form on his face as if he almost understood she didn't like metal.

Shin didn't like the look in his eye but tried to ignore it as she began speaking in every language she could remember, hopefully he would respon to one of them and then they could move on from there, even if it was just her telling him to get out of her forest before she sicked a pack of wolves on him.

He sat there and listened to her, tilting his head a little confused by all the words. He stood up and held the spear up as if something she said just offended him but he didn't strike her. His eyes still held anger and hate toward her, he nudged the spear at her a few times while she talked before kinda looking at her when she spoke some word.

Shin was encouraged by his attention at least, if nervous about the spear. She tried several other words from the language that had caught his attention before sighing and pointing to herself and saying "Shin." then pointing to him.

He grumbled and looked at her "Concobhar" he said kinda slowly, not bothering to lower the spear. He didn't fully trust her yet and wasn't willing to let her get the upper hand.

Nick groaned as he came to his head pounding, and he rolled as his stomach chose that moment to heave up. he threw up what little he did have in his stomach and knelt there. head pounding. he whiped at his nose and saw the blood on his hand. ignoreing the barbarian and The Dryad he crawled to his bag and opend it pulling out a pouch he pulled a pill from it and swallowed it, takeing a sip from his canteen to get it to go down. 'Ug.. Why do i do that every time.. i just gotta save the one in distress don't I.. couldn't do the smart thing and just let them fight it out amongst themselves and bolted. nooo..' he continued mentally yelling at himself in that vein as the pounding in his head slowly died away.*

Shin knelt next to the mage and laid a hand on his forehead. "Are you alright? You shouldn't overextend yourself like that, though the gesture was appriciated." She glanced back to the barbarian and nodded at him, saying "Concobhar." returning her attention to the mage she stood. "If you will rest here I will fetch you some food. And some for Concobhar as well I suppose. Then we will talk."

Nick grunted. as he leaned against the tree eye's closed. "I'm fine..".. he mumbled. rubbing at his face. "Just.. tired.." he wasn't sure how he was gonna tell them, when one of them didn't even understand the english he was useing.. at least most 'supernaturel' folk had caught up to the american world. heck you could go down the street to a tea shop and get your fortune told in your tea leaves just as soon as a cup of tea.. and now they had a.. barbarian...in the 2009th century..that was BOUND to cause trouble.

Concobhar sat down on the ground and stabbed the point of the spear into the ground beside him and watched. It was all starting to become slightly amusing to him. He babbled a little in his own language at the tree-woman, sounding a little angry as he did so.

Shin nodded and stepped into the nearest tree, stepping out again some distance away in a clump of bushes that carried edible berries. She personally didn't need to eat, she just joined with a tree and shared in it's energy. Indeed, her breif trip already had her feeling better. She traced a finger along the tree and felt it bend to her will, molding into a bowl that separated from the tree entirely and fell into her waiting hand. She thanked the tree for it's gift and turned to the bushes. She had merely to place the bowl under one of the bushes and ask politely for a rain of berries to come falling into it. It filled quickly even as she was cautious to leave enough berries for the wildlife. Once done she stepped back into the tree and out again at the clearing. She put the bowl down next to the mage and eyed the barbarian warily as she spoke "I am Shin, the guardian of this stretch of woodlands. From what I have been able to gather, this is Concobhan, though of what nation and allegiance I do not know. But who are you? And what magic was it that you performed to make new life?"

Nick closed his eyes. of course it would be that 'question' that would pop up first. or well that line of questioning that would pop up First. "My names Nick." he mutterd not looking up to meet her face. "And it wasn't magic.. it was..I messed up I knew you two where there and was trying to sense you and.. my magic sorta just.. did that. I.." he sighed and picked up the berry holding it in his hand he concentrated and tried to repeat the process.. only nothing happend no teven a 'wiggle' from his magic. he popped the berry in his mouth befor eoffering the bowel to the barbarian.*

Concobhar took the bowl and ate a few of the berries before setting it down and reaching for his spear. He jumped up and ran to the edge of the clearing and yelled as if there was something out there that was bugging him. He settled and returned to where he was sitting soon after and looked at the tree lady, he spoke some more and jabbed her with his spear almost impatiently.

Nick's eye's narrowed. "That's enough of that.." he spat reached out and magic flowed from him a bit calmer now and slamned into the others spear. the other wanted someone to get crabby with well he could deal with Nick being crabby.. that spear would suddenly sprout branches and wiggl free fo the males hold.. and in a few moments a small baby sapling stood inthe ground infront of hte barbarian.*

Shin frowned and sat down in thought. If it was not an intentional effect, then it would be hard to do again, but at least she now knew that the abaility to do it existed. Yet it existed with a mage that obviously couldn't control his powers. This was not good. Lost in thought Shin was taken by surprise by the barbarian wincing as Concobhar poked at her again and recoiled. Her jaw dropped at Nick's spell and she leaped to her feet, examining the new sapling. It WAS alive. as fresh and new as though planted, but healthy and alive. She turned back to Nick. "That's amazing. You should go to the dryad council, they need to see this, perhaps someone there more versed in languages then I can communicate with Concobhar even."

Concobhar jumped back as he watches his spear become a tree. He walked over and circled the tree a couple times, every so often pulling a branch or poking it...his spear was gone. He grumbled and looked at Nick, angry he picked up the small knife he had taken off of him while he was out and held it tightly. With a little yell he tried to attack Nick.

Nick heard the yell and responded on instinct he twisted rolling out of the area he'd been resting and to his feet. "Ohh you think so.. he don't seem to wanna go.." he mutterd and looked at the sliced hole through his shrit.. andt he thin trail of blood on the knifes blade. his eye's narrowing. okay That wa sit he'd been patient up until then. "If you don't STOP THAT I am so gonna make you regret being born." he spat. his temper was REALLY getting a hold of him. he backed away from the trees furthe rinto the clearing giving himself some room tomanuver and ignoreing his exhaustion, the cut on his arm..thanks the male infront of him.. and tried to ignore the voice that was muttering 'cut with his own knife' over and over in a disgusted voice.*

Shin's eye's flashed steel she she lashed out with a fist and struck him in the back. She started walking backwards slowly, taunting him with smug smiles and arrogant talk. Slowly she manuvered her way back into the woods. She just needed to get him close enough to a tree...

Conchobar got up and chased the tree woman back, his stubbornness was probably his foolishness. He lashed out at her with the blade this time.
