Hogarth gently slid his hand against her head, looking at the camp fire. "No problem." Hogarth said gently, not knowing the words that came from his mouth, his eyebrows sort of curled to make a what the hell kinda look, thinking about what he said. "Why would I say that?" He asked himself, looking at the flames.

kai was asleep and awake in what seemed like a matter of moments, she let out a large and tired yawn while she stood to her feet unaware of what had happened, the battle she fought to be able to sleep, she still hadnt known why the others were so worried, but, something obviously happened from the acheing in the back of her skull

Satoshi woke up and instinctively reached for his katana and almost unsheathed it until he remembered where he was and how he got there. He relaxed a bit still trying to get used to the new environment.

"would you like something to eat?" kai asked slowly rising from her current position, her smile was elegant, a timeless beauty, of course she was she was an exotic creature from japanese myths and modern-pop culture "i can catch some fish if you want" she offered feeling horrible for having snapped at the new arrival.

"Yes please and thank you."

Satoshi felt bad for having upset her the night before.

Noticing they were feeling practically the same thing she walked up to satoshi, while still smiling "look" she said her expression suddenly taking on a serious connotation "i'm really protective over my family.. Hogarth is like my brother and if anything were to happen to him.. i.. i dont know what i'd do, i'd hate to say it but.. i'd probably go after the person who took him from me and that may have been you last night, please, dont hurt anyone here okay? for your own safey.." she seemed truly appologetic while also trying to express to him that she meant business.

Kai stalked off into the forest, stripped herself down to the appropriate swimming clothes and jumped into the ice-cold mountain pond. She shivered wildly while catching fish, she tossed them onto the grass where they flopped once and entered the eternal sleep. She picked mint leaves, washed them off and gently suckled on one to releave her of morning breath.

She cleaned and cutted the fish fliletteing them as well as she could without cutting herself, she pressed a stick through the meat and set them over the fire watching their colour turn from pink/white to a light golden brown.

Satoshi inhaled the delicious aroma

"Smells good."

Shin had been keeping watch while they slept, and now that they were awake she decided it was time for her to rest. She stood and gave them a nod "I'm running low on energy, but if you need me just shout." And with that she stepped into a tre, but instead of stepping out again elsewhere she remained within it, sharing freely of it's energy.

Admiring what Shin had done.

"If only I could do that with ice."

"sleep well" kai said to Shin with a wide smile set onto her face, when the fish was done she lightly rubbed the meat with an over-sized mint leaf then handed it to satoshi "you're welcome and thank you" she did the same for hers and Hogarth's as well, she bit into the fish and enjoyed the flavours overwhelming her senses

"so.." she sighed looking over at the cute assasin boy with the type of expression that confused even herself "how old are you?"

After swallowing a bite of the fish he answered.

"I'm only seventeen."

kai blinked "you're so young" she gasped nearly chokeing on her fish "and you've traveled this far from home so early?" she knew she was no spring chicken but being eighteen wasnt old in her book, although back from his time she would have already been married off and a grandmother by now. so, she knew he was probably taken "you're just a year younger than me but" she laughed "yet you look older than i"

Satoshi smiled.

"Yeah, I get that a lot."

"i bet you do, i mean.. honestly it's very shocking seeing as how most of us are much older than that" she blushed a little feeling as if she'd called herself a grandmother then rubbed one of her ears thankful that he hadnt called her a demon and attempting to kill her "you know, many people from your time would see me as being evil merely because of my appearance" she blushed

"Well I used to work with ogre's on some of my assignments, and when someone see's an ogre they usually freak out and alert the town guard. The ogre I worked with was very nice, so after working with him I don't judge people on how they look."

this brought her joy, she nodded and let out an appropriate sigh thankful for his apparent open mind "thank you.. i doubt you would have lived if you'd attacked me" she laughed to herself blushing a light pink "knowing hogarth and his blade of doom.. i think you would have ended up in that blade had you attacked me or shin"

Satoshi looked up from his food with a puzzled look on his face.

"Whats with the sword anyway, what makes it so special?"

kai sighed blinking as the pain erupted from her eye again, she bit her lower lip fighting the urge to scream "long ago it was enchanted with strong elfen magic, unfortunately that doesnt ware off" when she spoke she finished her foot then cupped her left eye "whomever he kills is trapped within his sword for all of eternity.. so when his blade freaked out when i woke up streaming i comforted it and half of the ownership now resides in me" she mumbled looking down at her scabbed hands "unfortunately it rejected me at first, thus the bleeding" she held up her hands showing him the thin trails of blood trickling down her palms

"Why can't you just destroy the blade?"

"it'll kill both of us. Our lives are now intertwined with the blade" she scooted her way near it acting as if she were protecting the blasted weapon. her hands trembled and eyes locked on his "please.. dont kill us.." she begged

Satoshi regretting he asked that question had one idea left.

"What if you froze the blade so that no one could get to it?"

"no one will get to it" she promised looking back at hogarth but also at the blade "the blade usually doesnt accept people, usually they're killed after having touched it.. i-i guess i'm different" she blushed while smiling nervously "isnt your blade similar?" she asked having no knowledge at all about any weapon.

"No, my blade was forged by a normal blacksmith, but I can't say the same for the hilt."

Satoshi looked down a his katana.

"what's wrong with your hilt?" she asked expressing some concern for him now, she blinked a few times before sniffing at her clothes, time to change and she knew it. So, while talking to him she changed from her usual outfit to a strapless shirt and jeans.

"is it possessive or something? can it kill you?"

"Umm no, I could never carry any blade until I found this hilt. All the other hilts froze and shattered at the touch of my hand. I found this hilt in my family tomb about two years ago from where I'm from."
