Merin wandered the city streets. It felt good to be out and about, even if it was dark. His so called 'Father' never let him out of the house. he was always sleepy and lazy when darkness came. So his dad didn't think he would ever sneak out at this hour. There in lid his success. He stayed under the street lamps and moonlight as much as possible though. he was no fan of the dark, and he was a little tired even though excited.
He looked in on window displays and debated about going in to a cafe or not. For now he was content merely to stroll and stretch his legs a bit. ((I'll be a way in a bit...Going to go do some errands with my husband...As soon as he's done with his shower. :D )) |
Beatrice moved silently in the shadows, completely invisible to the naked eye. She whatched Merin closely, taking in his every move, for he was tonight's prey. Not in the usual sort though. She wasn't planning on biting him. She had something else in mind. She knew what he was, and knew that in turn, he was valuable.
((That's fine)) |
He shivered, it was if a cold breeze had caressed his arm. He felt some sense of foreboding but had no clue as to what it could be. He thought that perhaps he should go home. That feeling would just not go away. He turned around and headed back the way he had come. The feeling grew and soon it became almost unbearable. He cut through a small alleyway, while it seemed safe, it being not very long, it was still dark and narrow within.
|
Beatrice cackled to herself, he'd just made the job so much easier for her. She ran silentlyly, and grabbed Merin, one arm around his neck, one hand over his mouth "If you make one move, I will tear every drop of blood away from your body."
she hissed into his ear. Taking the hand away from his mouth, she created a large, pulsating blood-red orb, before throwing it against the ground. There was a cloud of smoke for a moment, then it withdrew to reveal a large, ugly demon. "Grab it and follow me, but this time, be quiet and don't harm it!" The demon nodded dimly, before grabbin Merin by the legs and hauling him over it's large shoulder. Beatrice began to walk back the way she had come, keeping out of the light and making sure the demon did the same. |
The hairs on his neck stood up and he gasped as the cold hand covered his. Fear left him rooted to where he stood. some woman had hissed into his ear, and something about her made him wary. She screamed dangerous yet he didn't know why. Then she through something red down and a monster appeared. the thing grabbed him and slung him over one shoulder. he yelped and flailed uselessly. The thing was strong and beating at it with his fists didn't seemd to do anything.
He whimpered and looked around, there was no one nor anything he could see to help him.. "Let go of me, What do you want!?" he started to panic his breathing becoming faster. |
Beatrice grinned "You, my dear, are from a very rare race and therefore are valuable. I could make a lot of money from you," she smiled at her good fortune "You are to be sold as a slave" she paused for a moment, thinking, before smirking "Then again, I may add you to my collection... She carried on walking, avoiding any light sources. Even though only the sun could kill her, most light was painful, and weakened her.
|
"Huh? Race what race? who are you... what are you?! Let me go right now! I'll uhm...start screaming." He warned raising his voice a little. He had no clue as to what the crazy weird woman was talking about. He had never before seen anything like her or the thing that carried him. He was in trouble, boy was he in trouble big time. Perhaps this was why his foster father...Wait did his father know? Perhaps this was what his Parent was trying to avoid. it made sense, if he were sought after, hiding was the only way... he groaned. It was too late now to listen and obey.
|
Beatrice cackled again "What race? Well, you look like a Light Ray to me... I'm sure you've heard of them..." she smirked. If he was trying to fool her, he wasn't doing very well. They were getting towards the outskirts of the town now. Ahead were a few hills. Beatrice stopped. "This will be... problematic." she turned to the large demon and began to sommon more. Two glowing orbs appeared, one in each hand. Again, she threw them against the ground. In their place where a pair of black, winged horses. She motioned for the large demon to put Merin on one of them. The demon did as he was told, before dissapearing. Beatrice lept onto one of them and gave it a sharp kick in the sides. The horse took off, the one that Merin was sat on followed quickly. They soon arrived at a large house.
|
((hills are problematic? ))
"A what? Listen Lady, I don't even know what you are, let alone what you're accusing me of...." He was getting really ticked off at the crazy lady. Panic turning from confusion to being irritable. the lady did something again and some more creatures popped out of nowhere..this time horses...with wings?!?!?!!! this was getting weirder by the second. he was roughly plopped down on one and he barely had any time to get situated when there was jolt and the horse left the ground. He gasped and reached to grab the horses mane, trying no to fall off. Soon a castle came into view... who had a castle nowadays he wondered. It was like some relic lost in time. |
((Getting your prisoner up the hill without them escaping is))
Beatrice got off the winged horse and pulled Merin off his. The horses too vanished. She walked to the front of the castle. Despite her thin figure, she was surprisingly strong and kept a firm grip around Merin's wrist. At the front stood a man wearing an old fashioned suit. He made a small bow and unlocked the door for Beatrice. She pulled Merin inside. They stood in a large entrance hall. There were four doors leading away and in the middle was a grand marble staircase. Beatrice let go of Merin. "Follow me" she said quietly, begin to walk up the stairs. Hanging from the ceiling were two large, unlit chandeliers. It was dim, but not so dark that you couldn't see. |
"Gah, owe..." he was pulled off and pulled into the mansion. his eyes stared wildly looking around. the place was huge, and obviously wealthy...He wandered how much just one of the above chandeliers cost.
"What? No I'm not following you, your crazy!" he edged away for the woman and started to back up. |
Beatrice stopped and turned to face Merin "Well, the door's locked whenever I go in or out, so you're stuck in here either way..." she shrugged "So, you can either follow me, or I'll bring you with me. Your choice"
|
Merin backed up, there just had to be a way out of this crazy situation. Maybe he was dreaming. he reached up and pinched his cheek. It hurt, so maybe it, wasn't....he was unsure of what to do, but he knew this lady meant bad business. he looked wildly around for anything to help him. He grabbed a candlestick off this his left and held it out defensively.
|
Beatrice raised an eyebrow at the boy, then let out a little chuckle. "You're almost as humourous as the last one.... That didn't end well, and this won't either if you do not come with me. If you're lucky I will keep you. There are much worse masters out there."
|
"Master? I don't want a master!" He tried to sound brave and tough but his arms and hads were shaking pretty obviously. He stayed glued to the spot, He didin't know how to get out of this and he knew he didn't want to get into this.....
|
Beatrice was starting to get a little ticked off. "If you weren't so valuable I would bite you" She snarled, her eyes flickering red for a moment.
|
He trembled, he thought wildly trying to figure out what in the world she was. He didn't know and what he didn't know could kill him.
"What are you?" he asked almost softly as he was certain he saw her eyes flash red. |
She smirked "Didn't your parents ever warn you about what lurks in the shadows at night?" She smiled to reveal a pair of fangs then said quietly "Vampire"
|
"You've got to be kidding me..." He stared at the woman and her fangs. there just was no way! How could...but then all the thing she had been able to do started going through his mind.... How in the world did he fall into this nightmare? what about what she was telling him...that he was something special.
"What was it that you called me? what are you planning on doing with me...." He continued to shake with fear....The news of what she was, did not calm his nerves of course. Why did this woman want him.... How was he different and why? |
"You are a Light Ray. And I am planning on selling you to the highest bidder. Although I may keep you for a little while first..." she pondered for a moment "Yes, I think I will. I guess you'll be needing a room then, follow me, there are plenty of spare rooms here" she turned back and continued up the stares.
|
He didn't see any other way out. Perhaps if he followed now, he might find an opportunity later. Still holding the candle stand he followed the lady, but not to closely. He kept as much distance as he could between himself and her.
|
"As you will be staying here for a while, I think it would be best if we got aquainted. My name is Beatrice Deadmoon." she didn't turn around when she spoke, but kept walking.
|
Manner drilled into him caused him to reply before he could think about it.
"Merin Hearthstone..." he replied wanting to shoot himself in the foot for giving the woman anything, even his name. |
