Stormbound Destinies [RP]
 

When the people of Alresh came to the lands of Erion, they found them to be filled with exotic beings, and riddled with gateways to the even more exotic world of the Sidhe. The wars against the Sidhe, and the other harsh truths of the world they'd arrived in seemed destined to break the settlers when finally they niched out a kingdom of their own. In time, this kingdom grew to be one of the most potent in the lands, and in turn, split into other kingdoms. It was then, in this age of enlightenment and magic, that Krythek opened the gateways to the world of the Murn. These hellish beings held an endless appetite for destruction, chaos, and death. It was only through the defeat of Krythek and the closing of the gates that the people of Erion survived. For hundreds of years following, the land was torn by the remaining Murn. The humans of Erion grew into warrior clans, hardy and determined. The dwarves, once slaves to the Sidhe, broke free and formed vast underground realms. The gnomes and the halflings, once of the realm of the Sidhe, were tainted, and became tied to the mortal realm. The Orken, once a proud culture, became the feral and brutish race known as the Orcs. The Fomorians, mystical giants from the mountains, were all but eradicated.

It has only been a generation now since the Murn have faded into obscurity. Warlords and Kings have arisen, and the outside lands have begun to consider Erion for expansion. Large militia and mercenary bands abound within Erion, fighting not only the beasts of the land, but each other as well.

Stormbound Destinies has a Celtic taste, with a Medieval-mythology basis: Think Grimm's fairy tales, and you'll have an idea of what to expect.

As your initial RP(s) introduce your character's backgrounds and indicate how they could have joined the mercenary band that you will be part of. Keep in mind that in medieval times being a mercenary was an honorable profession. Feel free to PM me with any questions or for elaborations on the setting.
