Music from foreign countries
I've noticed that I listen to a lot of music from countries that are foreign for me. What about you? Do you listen to music only from your country or do you find yourself addicted to music from foreign countries? My Favorite Music: Japan: -Versailles -Pierrot -Angelo -Miyavi -Gackt -Buono! -Alice Nine. -Chara -Abingdom Boys School -An Cafe -Chieko Kawabe -Aya Kamiki -Ayabie -BACK ON -Ali Project -D'espairs Ray -Dir en Grey -the GazettE -Kanon Wakeshima -Kirito -Leah Dizon -little by little -Malice Mizer -Misono -NOAKI -Nightmare -Kitade Nana -LM.C -Zoro -NEU Russia: -t.A.T.u -Alien DJ France: -Yelle -Fatal Bazooka Korea: -Koyote -DBSK Germany: -Tokio Hotel (I prefer the music that's actually in German) -Rammstein -Basshunter ...Yeah, mostly from Japan. |
Dir en Grey
t.A.T.u Rammstein |
Rammstein's cool, and I like some Japanese bands too. Tho it's really main stream nowadays..... and Korean music too.
But finnish music is really cool, like Disco Ensemble and HIM and such. And Hanoi Rocks of course! American music is foreign to me since I'm Finnish : D yeah and I like also English, Ukranian and Norwegian music. |
I went and looked up both Rammstein and Disco Ensemble since I'd never heard of them, and I'm impressed. :] They're both really good. I tried to look up Hanoi, but I didn't get any music results. |
Well almost all the music I listen to is foreign to me. I live in Finland and the only finish bands I really listen to is Hanoi Rocks and Apocalyptica. Otherwise most of the bands I listen to are from either the UK or the US.
|
I'm a big fan of bands from Finland like HIM, Apocalyptica and the Rasmus =3 Other then that, all the music I listen to is from the US.
|
Only 3 countries that i like to listened to often
Japan: Yui Fiction Junction Kalafina Access Yuki Kanon Wakeshima Tia Maaya Sakamoto Ali Project Marble berry Ohmori Reiko On/off Can/Goo UVERworld Rie Fu Access Sowelu Nana Kitade Flow Inoue Joe Kanon Halcali -many more forgot the names korea TVXQ SHINee U-Kiss Super Junior Wonder Girls America (U.S.A) Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana) My Chemical Romance Hilary Duff Kelly Clarkson Simple Plan Green Day Paramore Taylor Swift Tokio Hotel thats all  |
I love japanese music and some german music. Plus I love choir music and choir music in other languages like Hebrew or German or Japanese or Latin is always fun. Plus african music is so good.
|
I don't really pay attention to artists or song names, but I do like foreign songs. When I just want good music screaming in my ears I turn to J-Rock. It comes in handy when I don't care for anything to make sense.
From the artists you've all listed, though, these stood out the most: t.A.T.u Yui Maaya Sakamoto (I could be wrong on this one...) On/Off Flow SHINee Dir en Grey Alice Nine DBSK Malice Mizer the GazettE Gackt Chieko Kawabe D'espairs Ray |
About half my playlist or more is composed of foreign music. :P
I find it a lot more tolerable than American music 'cause I think the voices fit more with the moods I have. (...I do not believe I will ever have a gangsta mood.) It doesn't really matter what they're saying, but if the actual instrumental~y stuff is good, it's a god song in my opinion. The singer just needs to have a voice that flows with the music too. I listen to Korean, Japanese, Filipino, and I'm trying to find more German singers. D: I listen to two German bands, Tokio Hotel and Cinema Bizarre. Cinema Bizarre...I've never heard them sing in German (They speak it though, of course.) :[ And Tokio Hotel. I love Bill and all, but I need more apart from him. xD |
It's hard for me to think of many, just because so much of what I listen to is so local. Beirut sticks out the most, along with Sigur Ros. And I've never been a real big fan of Japanese or Korean music, just because I'm never too fond of the vocals.

Japanese:
Aural Vampire German: And One Basshunter (I think they're German? I'm pretty sure...) Rammstein Yeah. xD |
Largely just the USA and England. A random band here and there from other English-speaking countries.
I'm not particularly interested in bands that I can't understand, and unfortunately, I only speak English for right now. I won't completely shun a band that doesn't sing in English, but I much prefer to be able to understand them. I like being able to relive the story that the song tells every time I listen to the song. I'm a very lyric-oriented person. The only band I currently listen to that regularly sings in other languages is Gogol Bordello. I'm not very good with identifying languages, but as the singer's from Ukraine and the language sounds Slavic, I'd say they sing in Ukrainian a lot. But most of each song is in English. Sometimes all of them. But he'll throw in random sentences, or even verses in Ukrainian. |

I didn't know Basshunter was German.. :] I like them, too. |
Well, I'm Polish so it shouldn't be a surprise that quite a lot of bands I listen to are from Poland ;)
But I listen to A LOT of English music, both from England and USA. Then there are a few bands I listen from many other countries, like for example: - Germany (Deine Lakaien, E Nomine) - France (Elend) - Sweden (Pain of Salvation) - Finland (Hevein, Apocalyptica) - Portugal (Joy of Nature) - Japan (Yuki Kajiura) - Kazakhstan (Ulytau) - Arabic countries (Azam Ali, Vas, Niyaz - though the last two include Azam Ali ;)) - Italy (Lacuna Coil) - Norway (The 3rd and the Mortal, Tactile Gemma) But still most of these bands sing in English, having only a few songs in their own language... If even. And yup, mentioned before Gogol Bordello, which has some lyrics in Ukrainian. |
I love alot of japanese artist, one chinese, a korean boy group, some canadian, a few american, and english band, a irish band, oh and t.A.t.U. from Russia (they are really awesome).

Most of music I listen to is in English, although from various countries also others than English speaking [like Germany or Scandinavian countries.]
I love also some Spanish singing bands/singers, namely Héroes del Silencio, Enrique Bunbury, Tierra Santa. And I almost never listen to music from my own country [Czech]; I just like the others much better. |
