A thread killer is someone who can come into a thread and posts and then no one else posts anymore. Basically you "kill" the thread.

However, we've done extremely well so far in this thread NOT being killed off by any of us. We've worked really hard on it. It's like rehab for us !

I suppose it isn't, but i just want to crawl back into bed. It's nice and warm there ^^

Infinitys Echo 01-29-2010 02:47 AM

I know how that feels. I'm staying busy here, but when I'm not, I just want to sleep. Cold weather and rainy weather have that in common in that they make me want to sleep, or at the least stay snug and warm in bed or under a blanket curled up in front of the tv.

I have a lot of stuff that just popped up in my life and the stress is just tiring. AND if I'm asleep then the problems aren't bothering me. It's a coping mechanism, a bad one but it works. The weather usually doesn't make me tired though, unless it's a little warm, (anything above 75 is too hot XD). Warm days outside make me want to sleep. I could really go for one of those days, instead of freezing my butt off. (my room doesn't retain heat. Which sucks when it's winter in PA

Renee the Rabid Squirrel 01-30-2010 06:39 AM

Ugh, cold. I have this really bad draft from my crappy window that doesn't really close, and I had to stuff a pillowcase at the top to keep it from banging. @[email protected] It's super bad. I put a bedskirt over it to keep out some of the cold, it only partly works. I need to talk to the building people, and they'll probably say talk to my landlady, who I already talked to, who told me that she's not responsible for it because it's not in the contract, so I have to talk to building maintenance...stupid shyster condo owners. *growls*

That really sucks. I had that happen when we firt moved here, the people who lived here before us apparently didn't close the windows all the way, so they slid open. The draft was so horrible it woke me up. I think you can get her in trouble for that, but I'm not sure.

Renee the Rabid Squirrel 01-31-2010 02:10 AM

Yeah...I talked to my roommate...and her aunt works in legal stuff, and apparently legally it's not the landlady's responsibility because of the contract, so I do have to talk to maintenance. It's my own laziness. I gotta go talk to maintenance and see if they'll do something. If not, then I'll have to figure out who to complain to, but then by the time I fight for what's right - how much do I have to pay for it, if I need a lawyer, etc, and will it be warm by that time? Lol. :P

I know how that feels! ><;

Renee the Rabid Squirrel 01-31-2010 02:39 AM

Lol, I see you've followed me to one of my threads! XDDD Good work! *high-fives* I've graduated from thread-killer to thread-flourisher! I brought people IN! I'm gaining power! XDD

:high fives: thank you ^^ though I'm a little worried about you gaining a lot of power XD
I hope maintenance fixes it for you, but in the mean time you could tape a garbage bag or something over the window or the area where the draft comes in. It would a least block some of the wind

Renee the Rabid Squirrel 01-31-2010 05:01 AM

LOL, that's true, we had this conversation about what happens when I get power. xD

What I've done is I put a bedskirt around it. It's blocked some of it, but it's a threadbare sheet, so it comes through. We tried taping up that plastic stuff and doing the double sided tape with the hairdryer thing with the shrink stuff...and it ended in disaster. But yeah, I guess I never thought to do it without hair dryering it and to do it with masking tape, that might be better. When we tried to do the window sealing (it's a huge window btw, I was up on a chair to try and get it all), my roommate accidentally blew debris into her eye with the hair dryer, and had to flush it out in the shower and use eye drops, so we just stopped after that. @[email protected] Wasn't fun. I'm lazy though, so I haven't been good about talking to the building management.

The plastic stuff is difficult to do, we did it at our last house. You could also try a heavy curtain or tapestry... But I think your best bet would be maintenance, your roommate could ask for you if you don't want to =3 other than that I'm not really sure about what to do, sorry

xnozomichanx 02-04-2010 04:47 AM

ah! where did everyone go? don't abandon me

Renee the Rabid Squirrel 02-04-2010 05:39 PM

My roommate is kind of useless at asking people to do things. She doesn't even like phoning the people for pizza delivery. In fact, she's kind of useless for a lot of things. I was sick and literally throwing up in the tub and diahhrea at the same time and she was like 'is there anything I can do' and I was like 'yes there is, can you please put this towel and rug in the washing machine' because I'd made a mess on it, and she did...nothing for me. It's like, if you ask if there's anything you can do, be prepared to actually DO something. It was like she asked it and expected me to say there was nothing she could do.

AshesToRoses 02-04-2010 06:03 PM

I couldn't find any threads to kill. they were pretty dormant anyway.

Renee the Rabid Squirrel 02-04-2010 06:35 PM

Yeah, if they're already dead, all you can really do is put an extra bullet to the head to make sure they stay dead.

Yeah she does sound pretty useless. Sounds like my sister. <<# She never does anything. So lazy and spoiled.

How have you been?

Dezzy Love 02-05-2010 04:54 AM

Most of my Quest threads get killed... By me.

Infinitys Echo 02-05-2010 05:57 AM

Uh-oh! We're getting too close to dying out here. Can't let that happen. I've been staying busy here at home as well as I haven't really felt much like posting. Ugh! I guess it's time for another event to liven things up a bit.

I know that one. I wonder which is worse, killing your own thread or someone else killing it...

Valentines day is coming up soon-ish. I kinda let it go for several days, so it's not your fault. I've been lazy. How are you? By the way, awesome hair :D I might buy some for myself.

Infinitys Echo 02-07-2010 07:29 AM

I think killing your own has got to be the worst.

Yes, I'm looking forward to Valentine's Day-well, only for the event on here. I don't care for the holiday itself. I don't really care for any holidays in and of themselves and don't really celebrate them. I'll cook for Thanksgiving, and I absolutely LOVE XMas, but that's about it. I like July 4th, but only because of it's meaning. A BBQ in the summertime is always great, unless you're the one that has to do the cooking, so that takes all the fun out of it for me. It's not for religious reasons in case your wondering. I just don't see the need for most of the holidays. That includes birthdays. For my kids I'm "forced" to have a cake and of course buy them gifts-always great gifts-but that's only because I know how let down they would be if I didn't do something. I'm so relieved that I only have one left to do that for now that the other two are grown and out of the house!

And Thanks for the compliment! I really like the hair, but it could be better. I think it's a little TOO wild, if you know what I mean, and shouldn't be so much up in the air, but it's nice. If it hung down more, it could be used for a lot more different looks.

Mimiroppu 02-07-2010 10:18 AM

I usually wind up killing threads... but maybe that won't happen here! xD

Hello. :3

Darrigan 02-07-2010 02:39 PM

I have never actually killed a thread, but I did have a guild die after I joined.

xnozomichanx 02-07-2010 04:58 PM

@Echo I'm not much of a religious person myself, but I think the holidays can be fun. Day off from work or free stuff is always a plus for me ^^ Oh, I got the hair. I looked like I was about to tip over

@Mimiroppu Hello ^^ I don't think you'll kill this thread. We have some regular posters, so for now we're good =3

@Darrigan I've never really thought guilds could die. o.Q I stand corrected ^^ How are you?

KokoroAoi 02-08-2010 04:09 AM

Dead Threads become me

I'm truly a thread killer. I post something and no one ever posts after me. This is why I no longer post on Gaia. I guess its a gift. I'm hoping that being here on Menewsha will help me turn my thread killer thumb into a 'green' thumb of growth. See, saying stupid stuff like this will kill the thread! What's wrong with me!!!!! ha, ha.
