Unknown Mangas -- What do YOU like?

Lately I have found myself more into unknown mangas, like Zippy Ziggy, than popular ones, like Death Note, Akira, Clamp, xxxHolic and so on, so on.

I usually read them on www.onemanga.com.

Zippy Ziggy (first time I have heard of it was when I was browsing new mangas on onemanga.com) is about boy, who pretends to be super good, but in fact is total scum (loves cheating and has nasty mind). His fame began by accident -- a robber had tripped over and fell down (self K.O. xD), letting out the stolen wallet, which was picked by the main character. One day he meets a champion in martial arts -- girl in his age. He's surprised to see her joining his school! But he doesn't know that she is pretending too -- she acts like a cute girl who would rather play with a kitty than fight with others.

The story is really funny! I wish more volumes were scanned.

Do you know any good, not known mangas? Or do you rather stick with well known ones?

I actually been interested in Evyione: Ocean Fantasy, however the publication of the second one is very hard to find.

Basically it's the Little Mermaid with the roles reversed. I think the art is simply fantastic and the story is getting somewhere. C:

My favorite one so far has been Metro Survive.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to find it ANYWHERE.

I find Liar Game to be a really enjoyable read. It's just as intelligent as Death Note and just as exciting as several other popular manga I've read. I check back all the time for updates. Every chapter is a darn cliffhanger.

D. Gray-Man!!! its so good, it has many twists! it first starts of religous but it looks like they are now turning towards magic instead. there are characters in the series called noah, and supposedly, to their word, they are children of god even though they kill people.:| but at the chapter i just finished they are now actually sorcerers...funny how that works right?

[email protected]!! is totally awesome. Its about a five-year old girl who lives with her dad, and she moves and meets these older girls who are her neighbors, she's afraid of air-conditioners, and she has GREEN HAIR!!! what else could you ask for?!

xD Yessss I love yotsuba

I'm obsessed with From Eroica with Love. Its a bit crazy and mostly funny which is why I love it. And while the art is outdated I think its pretty, the characters do have super long legs and the males are a bit femmy looking. Anyone else follow this series?

I love Umineko and Higurashi. =3

I read Hana to Akuma on Mangafox. I don't really know if that counts as unknown or not, but I don't see a lot of people who read it.

Heana 10-07-2009 05:08 AM

Dragin Knights, Vampire Game, Legal Drug, a few others

Rumpus Ruu 10-07-2009 06:47 PM

I love onemanga it really does show a bunch of unknown mangas. Some of the ones I've gotten into recently are: Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro, Kobato, Meine Liebe, Aishiteruze Baby, and Cirque du Freak/Darren Shan. (YES! Their is a manga for Cirque du Freak~)

Oh the unknown things you can find~

Sunlit.rains 10-07-2009 07:04 PM

@Hana0-0Usagi: I love D.Gray Man too. Especailly Cross and Ravi/Lavi or whatever the official name is.

@Heana: omg! There are so few fellow Dragon Knights lovers out there I feel like. I picked it up years ago and am still in love with it. I loved the (drastic) evolution of the art and the random things like sudden tea parties in the middle of crisis.

Rumpus Ruu 10-07-2009 07:15 PM

Oh wow I just read Dragon Knights on the thread. I forgot about that manga. I loooove Dragon Knights. It was one of my first mangas.

Same here. It's a pity I can't seem to find it in stores anymore. I'd love to buy the rest of the series as I only have some of the volumes. I think between me and a friend we have them all though. I also was reading a series call Kamui at one point and I was really loving it. But I can't seem to find it now, though I'm sure if I looked harder I could find it.

I usually pick what catches my eye and most times it ends up being populare of more well known. But there's at least one less commonly known book I've read. That would be an amican written manga called Polly and the Pirates. It's really cute and fun in it's adventurous sort of way. And the art work eyes such a unique and fun style to it.

madamelsie 10-08-2009 08:38 PM

I'm currently reading a manga called "The Midnight Opera". It's written by Hans Steinbach, who is by no means Japanese. It's really a great manga. great artwork and a pretty good story w/ great history worked in. It's a vampire manga. would definitely recommend it.

kannachan27 10-08-2009 10:52 PM

Higurashi no Naka Koro ni is love<333 Though I prefer the anime...
Then again, I haven't really read the manga through because I could never quite find it online. Or I'd pick up somewhere else, or it wouldn't be finished.... I dunno. The anime was lovely though<3

I loveloveLOVE Kimi ni Todoke. And Charming Junkie. And Perfect Girl Evolution. ....and Katekyo Hitman REBORN!

xAcidxRainx 10-08-2009 10:59 PM

For unknown manga I really love: MAR, Flame of Recca, Mugen Spiral, Crescent Moon, From Up Above, Kuroshitsuji, and Lip Gloss.
There are some others but I can't think right now. ><

kannachan27 10-08-2009 11:12 PM

I was reading Crescent Moon a few years ago. I never really finished it lol. And I gave up on Flame of Recca shortly after I started watching it - I saw the first episode, thought it was kinda interesting, bought and read the first volume of the manga and didn't want to continue with it anymore. Kind of like Rave Master, I guess--the manga wasn't really suiting my taste.

clhsninja 10-11-2009 05:39 PM

kamiyadori. its not on any sites i have seen its about and infection that takes over and kills people, but the right handers kill them, they are an ellite group like S.T.A.R.S (resident evil refference)

YamiSora 10-11-2009 07:53 PM

1. Ai wo Utau Yori Ore ni Oborero! - very funny if you love gender confused mangas!

2. My balls - if you are old enough to read, it doesn't show to much, just boobs really, but the plot is simply hilarious!

3. Honey hunt - pretty good, just wish the heroine was a little braver.\

4. Hana to Akuma - a really good demon love story!

5. Hana Yori Dango - probably my favorite shoujo manga

6. Mars - good plot, but kinda got boring at the end, the beginning is simply great though! XDD

xAcidxRainx 10-12-2009 06:03 AM

@kannachan27- Aww, well its not for everyone I guess. And thank you! Rave Master was one of the other manga I was trying to think about. :P

Just today I discovered a (very) new manga. Its called Heart no Kuni no Alice. A.K.A Wonderful Wonderland.
Everyone adores Alice! And with all the pretty boys its a good read for fangirls. Oh but dont get me wrong, it isnt just fanservis. It has a plot and is a good read. (In my opinon though.)
