The Tale of the Crime, the Crown, and the Crypt

Hey Menewsha!
First art post here :3

I have some artworks with me here. Each one of them has a little (or not so little... they are about a page in length) story attached to them, sort of like a picture book.
These three that I'm showing are a set, each titled "The Crime, The Crown, and The Crypt" and basically each picture tells a story, which is interwined into another...

I took the motif for this particular set from the popular fairytale of "Rapunzel", although that's really only evident in the first pic (The Crime) It is more like my own original story, which is on-going in my head.

Only a part of the stories are given, as they are quite long. I'm not sure if it is against the rules to post too long posts...? If they are, I will immediately fix that. In any case, you will find links to all of the stories underneath the artworks ^^

But enough words, here are the artworks:

" I was the eldest daughter of the eldest daughter, and the future queen of my kingdom. For this I was adored, and polished like a valuable jewel. I was beautiful. Too beautiful; this was a crime.

Every day, they milked the golden yolk from the daisies and oiled my hair from scalp to the tips, to make it gleam like strands of pure spun gold. They rubbed emeralds into my eyes so they glittered like the dust of grasshopper wings. I was bathed in apricot milk and perfume distilled from cotton. I drank from the goblets of beetle wings and dined from plates of ruby slivers." (Read the rest here)

" I was the eldest son of the eldest son, and the future king of my people.

We were the clan of the beings with great white wings and twisted horns. We dwelled on the cliffs with their edges sharp as knives, so steep that no man without wings could climb.

On the walls of those cliffs we dug a labyrinth of caverns. There were palaces, gardens and winding alleyways; there were fountains, silk stalls and cathedrals adorned with mosaics of coloured stone. There were halls tiled in blue, the tapestries woven in mauve, and women's lips painted red. " (Read the rest here)

" I am the eldest daughter of the eldest daughter, but I am heir to no throne. Hated by my own mother, I was abandoned as an enfant. No crowns will ever grace my head.." (Read the rest here)

Phew, thanks for reading this long post! I would love some feedback.

that story was amazing and all of your art is crazy pretty. What do you use for the lines?
It all looks like watercolour but line lines look kind of like photoshop, very cool.

Thank you so much. I was heavily inspired by the stained glass windows I saw in my recent trip to New York, at the Cloisters museum. I enjoyed doing the details too.

Thank you! I use a variety of mixed media, digital work included, to create these works. They are still quite experimental, but I'm getting to learn :)

They're absolutely beautiful, the artworks! Just wondering, did you color them traditionally or digitally? :) They look like they could be either!
They're very good, I especially love the second one. The coloring and lining is amazing in all of them, as well as everything else. Very, very nice! <3

The stories are very good, as well. I love the kind of writing style you're using for them, the descriptions and word usage really paint a picture in my mind. :)

Thank you ^ o ^ I used both traditional and digital media for these works. So I guess I could say its mixed media.

I'm glad you liked the stories as well. English isn't my first language so sometimes I wonder if what I write makes sense/have enough imagery.

Wow O.O
I must admit that I didn't read it all, but this is amazing! I love when a picture has a story, it's so inspiring
And the way the artworks are done is just fitting perfectly... I like the one of "The Crypt" the most...
They remind me of tarot cards

@13th: Lol, I understand. They are pretty long and can be hard to read XD
Come to think of it, "the Crypt" does look like a tarot card. I didn't mean to format it like that, but now I see it :D

Wow I really love your art. I like the uniqueness that it has. Also the lines are amazing. It really looks like you painted it. I enjoy all the color and that there is no white background. =] Your an amazing artist. =] Thank you for showing us your art.

do you have any other characters?
they're wonderful :3
I think a jester or something would be stupendous.

Amazing art! Did you draw it out on paper or was it all on the computer?

The second one is my favorite, the wings are so well drawn and the style of your eyes are cool
