Nesseh have you ever had homemade wine? It's very different to that made from grapes, especially if you use very sweet fruit. More like a very grown up juice than anything alcoholic. You only know it's alcohol when your legs don't work any more when you try to stand up ;) |

I've had homemade mead before and it had a pretty gnarly alcohol content. Fermentation. Gotta love it!

Elrima I'm hoping to be able to make mead one day. Last year I built some hives and put them in the little orchard that's at the bottom of my garden. But I'm loath to use the honey up in the quantities that I'd need to for mead. I HAVE got some strawberry wine on the go now though, that I added honey to instead of sugar. It will be interesting to see how that turns out. If it's good I'm planning on gifting it to my female staff at the town hall when Valentine's Day comes around *nods*

Those monks had some sense all those centuries ago *laughs* mead certainly is very nice, if it's been made properly. Smooth and delicious, wonderful for adding to dessert sauces and so on too, of course.
*laughs* and there I go, talking about food again, that must mean that it's lunch time... |
