@ mags: Yeah, I've seen mothers and fathers on here before. :3 Plus, you get the young ones as well - it really is a place for everybody. ^__^

Our Marching Band wasn't very large (only about 100 members at its peak), but it was fun. :3 *wishes she had some video* Sadly, there's nothing from when I was in Marching Band on Youtube (I graduated when Youtube started getting popular). D:

@ Wendy: Uhg. DX I hate it when people do that. Kinda reminds me of my Disney Internship experience... ^^; Don't get me wrong - Disney's a great place to work! ^__^ But the way the apartments are run SUCKS. And they only let you find 1 potential roommate before you get down there, and if you have issues with 1 or more of your roommates, they've made it really hard to move. DX

/ranting ^^;

ghostPastry 08-10-2009 06:22 PM

@Nickle4aPickle You are old! >:I (^_^)

Hi, Wendy! *snugs*

Nickle4aPickle 08-10-2009 06:25 PM

Oh, gee, thanks. XD *is only 21*

Wendy Darling 08-10-2009 06:27 PM

@Mags: It's definitely more FREEDOM than high school -- you have more spare time, but you need to devote more spare time to studying than you would back in grade school. *Nodnod* But I had a 4.0 both semesters of my first year, soooo . . . XD 20+ hours gets you a 4.0. You can ease up if you're not trying to be the ultimate straight A college student like I was. XD

@Nickle: @[email protected] Disney internship. So jealous. They came to our uni trying to recruit interns, but it was like. . . nothing I'd be interested in for my major. I wanted to go there to work with the animation department as I'm a graphic design major, but they didn't offer that to interns. Just jobs working the restaurants, food stands and booths, cashiers for other things, etc. And the apartments didn't look good at ALL. D< Sounds like a really crappy experience down there. Glad I didn't decide on going. x_x

@Brianna: Hey there! :D *Hugs* How've you been doing? :O

Nickle4aPickle 08-10-2009 06:33 PM

@ Wendy: My major was Business Information Management (basically Website Design and Development), but I still went down. XD I LOVED working there! (I'm actually a Seasonal Employee) I worked in gifts shops. XD

It was just the living experience I had issues with (and I seemed to have more issues than the average College Programmer). The apartments they showed in the video were most likely from Vista Way (one of the 3 different apartment complexes - the oldest one at that). Sadly, I didn't know when I went down that there were other places to live, and chose Vista Way. D: It's party central there - I couldn't sleep well. DX

There's also Chatham Square and Patterson Court which are MUCH nicer (Patterson opened when I went down at this time last year for my Program). They're also quiet. (Well, at least Chatham is. I never visited Patterson, so I'm not sure on that one.)

Basically, my advice: If you do the Disney Internship, don't stay at Vista Way unless you're a party person who can survive on no sleep!

And also - working at Disney is not a vacation - you've got to be prepared to work a lot. I enjoyed working, so it wasn't an issue for me. I love making people smile. ^___^

I can't wait till I go back down in October! 8D

mags42 08-10-2009 06:38 PM

Haha, yeah, I've never really been an overachiever! =) 3.8 is fine with me, or anything close to that! xD I know I need above a 3.5 to stay in the Honors program, and above a 3.6 to get into the TownHouses sophomore year!! ^^ So, I know I'll have to study somewhat a lot! :) THanks for the tips! :D

And omgosh, DISNEY @[email protected] Ahhhhh *jelly!* I've only been there like 5 times, I would love to intern there!! =(

Nickle4aPickle 08-10-2009 06:41 PM

I never worked that hard. XD; I wish I had, but I love my free time too much. <3 Though I did get a 3.5 my last semester! I was proud of that. :D

I've been to Disney (before the internship) more times than I can remember! XD And even after working there, I still love it. <3 I'll NEVER get tired of it! 8D

ghostPastry 08-10-2009 06:44 PM

@Wendy- I've been doing pretty well, although I've been super busy. >.>; And yourself?

@N4aP- Pfft. Ollllld. You could be my grandma! ^w^ *is 16*

Wendy Darling 08-10-2009 06:48 PM

I hate partying and I need like 8 - 9 hours of sleep a night, soooo. . . I wouldn't fare well there. Thanks for the heads up though. xD I don't know if I'll do the internship until my senior year, however, because they don't offer any art classes down there, and I need as many on hands studio classes and art histories as I can get so I can just go ahead and get my degree. @[email protected]

I do love Disney, but my love for it lies in the old handdrawn animations. I'm. . . TOTALLY driven to get my degree in graphics (cause my university doesn't offer illustration, unfortunately), but I'm gonna march down there, demand them to give me a job in their animation department so I can bring back a wave of the original visions that Walt Disney had for his movies. HANDDRAWN. I'm sick of seeing this computer animated crap. Pixar's great, that's an entirely different thing though. All these side Disney movies with talking animals and crap . . . all 3D and computer animated. Makes me SICK. Then there's the Disney Channel which needs to just rename itself because it's nothing like Walt's original vision. I remember back in the day when actual Disney things were shown, but now it's Hannah Montana and Jonas Brothers bullshit. (Apologies if yall like it, it just make bloody sick.) Luckily, their saving grace with me has been the Princess and the Frog movie that's going to be coming out this December. Handdrawn, 2D animation, thank GOD, something worth my time.

[/rant] XD

mags42 08-10-2009 06:51 PM

Omgosh, I love the disney princesses and their movies <3 And Lion King. o.o Omgosh, I think I'm gonna have a marathon tonight or somefing....xD!

ghostPastry 08-10-2009 06:54 PM

@Wendy- Ugh, I totally agree. Good luck!
Ahh, so that's why the art for Princess and the Frog looks so good! :3

Wendy Darling 08-10-2009 06:56 PM

@Brianna: Yeah, but it's not like. . . REALLY handdrawn like they did in the old days on paper. They draw things into the computer and make it easier, so it is sort of computer animated, but everything has to be handdrawn bit by bit. But technology makes it easier, that's my idea behind it. Just happy to see 2D hasn't become obsolete. @[email protected]

@Mags: I watch Little Mermaid once or twice a month. XD My favorite movie in the history of EVER.

Immortaleyes 08-10-2009 06:58 PM

Hi WendyDarling and everyone else!
How goes the event for you all?
I kind of looked it over yesterday, but didn't decide to actually try to get any of the items until today. I love the new sash item..it soo awesome looking!

Nickle4aPickle 08-10-2009 06:59 PM

@ Wendy: OMG, I completely agree with you! DX Pixar's awesome in my opinion (WALL-E, OMG!), but I miss the old stuff. ;w; I absolutely cannot WAIT for "The Princess and the Frog!" 8D

Disney Channel SUCKS. DX I hate all those Hannah Montana, Jonas Bros, High School Musical crappy things.

Rumor has it that since Aerosmith's contract is up soon for the Rock'n'Roller Coaster (one of my favorite rides), they're going to remake it with either Hannah Montana or Jonas Bros. *cries*

Jesweet 08-10-2009 06:59 PM

Thanks to everybody ovo
I added nickle and anna's forms, sorry I'm not chatting much OTL
lack of sleep due to stephen king's novels ahaha.....
correct me if I missed any.

mags42 08-10-2009 06:59 PM

Omgosh, little mermaid! =D

My favorite is hands down, Mulan!! <3

I finally bought it on VHS for like $3 a few days ago! xD Lol. Wow, old Disney Movies really rock! ;D

Edit: Lol, lotsa people posted while I was typing! xD

OMGOSH, PLEASE DON'T DO THAT TO ROCK 'N' ROLLERCOASTER! O.O That was the best one...omgosh, not with one of those weird thingies! >.< Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers...EH. =/ *cries wif you* T.T

ghostPastry 08-10-2009 06:59 PM

@Wendy- Me, too. ^_^
It adds a much more personal effect when a person hand-draws rather than computer generates.

@Jesweet- Thank you! :3

Nickle4aPickle 08-10-2009 07:05 PM

Hee hee, thanks for adding it. ^__^

Agh, time for me to get ready for work. ;o; Take care everybody!

mags42 08-10-2009 07:07 PM

BiBi Pickle!! :( Have fun!! ;D

Omgosh, I've been on here forever today! o.o;

Jesweet 08-10-2009 07:11 PM

my fav disney movie was mulan too >v<
maybe it was the asian in me that connects or just that Mulan wasn't a damsel in distress.
All that action was great too xD

ghostPastry 08-10-2009 07:12 PM

Seeya, N4aP! :3
I should prolly head on out, too. See y'all laters!

Wendy Darling 08-10-2009 07:12 PM

Hey, Immortal and Jesweet. :3

@Nickle: I'm a FIRM believer that Disney Channel is now a tool of the devil sucking children into hell. Children are growing up with idols like Miley Cyrus the slut and unpredictable visions of high school. Makes me sick at my stomach. But see ya later. :3

@Mags: I like Mulan, too, but it's like . . . one of the later ones of my time. XD I didn't grow up with it; it came out when I was older. *Feels old* XD

@Brianna: I totally agree. It leaves a reason for artists to . . . you know, DO THEIR THING. PRODUCE ART. <3

ghostPastry 08-10-2009 07:14 PM

@Wendy- EXACTLY! I hate drawing on computers, because I don't draw where the art shows up. xD

Sally Sinema 08-10-2009 07:15 PM

Hi Jesweet and friends *waves* How is your day going?

Oh, are we talking disney movies? I loved mulan, I think Beauty and the beast is my favorite though, or maybe atlantis.

Jesweet 08-10-2009 07:15 PM

see yas later anna and n4ap!

Wendy Darling
Yes I totally agree!
thank god we got rid of that channel OTL
totally unrealistic.

aoi midori
beauty and the beast was one of the 'scarier' ones for me >v<
maybe because the bad guy in it was uh...fugly...
