Soo.. Would you eat cloned meat?

I hear it tastes perfectly normal--If not better than the original. o_O

Miss Eevee 08-09-2009 11:53 PM

if i ate meat i wouldn't consider cloned meat any different from normal meat.
- shrug -

luckily, i'm a vegetarian, so the ethical debate will never arise for me. :p

flamedancer 08-09-2009 11:53 PM

Can they even clone meat i wonder.

melusinia 08-09-2009 11:54 PM

Yes, they can. xD They can clone sheep so.. Yeah..

Oscar the Wild 08-09-2009 11:55 PM

Sure. Meat is meat, right? There's no difference, really, besides the whole cloning issue.

saw7771 08-09-2009 11:57 PM

I think that meat is meat and i'd eat cloned meat as soon as the original thing. OF course the ethicality of cloning is something that's debatable all on its own.

Masamune 08-09-2009 11:59 PM

It depends if the cloned animal was healthy or not.

Bloody Ookami 08-10-2009 12:03 AM

i don't know if there would be any difference in taste but i'd try it

Akasha 08-10-2009 12:12 AM

Sure why not? :]
Its no different right?
Although it might be a little weird thinking that its a poor little cloned animal only bred to be slaughtered. D':

Blackberii_Chai 08-10-2009 12:28 AM

It sounds kind of creepy...

But if it tastes normal then I probably wouldn't have a problem with it.

(I like meat too much to care what kind it is)

melusinia 08-10-2009 12:36 AM

HAHAH, same here!

khrome 08-10-2009 12:37 AM

i'm not sure. i'd have to look up that one. cloned meat could be less healthier, which would be the reason as to why they don't sell them in stores. well, they don't sell them in stores where i live, at least.

i love meat. srsly. i eat meat every single day ( i think ). so if it tastes the same and looks the same, then i prolly won't have a problem with it.

dreamberry 08-10-2009 12:52 AM

actually they are working on meat that just grows (not from an animal) in your fridge... and you cut some off and then more grows. REALY weird. But I think its awesome. Less cruelty to animals and less cost in the long run I'm sure and less having to buy groceries.... We'll get used to it.

interesting! Cloned meat looks tamed now.. lol
But that's a cool idea--It might help decrease the amounts of death from starvation around the world.

That's so fascinating! That sounds like a great idea, and it also sounds like they are making progress on it. I'd eat cloned meat, especially if it's the kind where no animal was killed for it.

SwirlingCloud 08-10-2009 02:41 AM

that's why i become a vegetarian ^^

Iseril 08-10-2009 02:43 AM

Well in all truth we are probably already eating cloned meat and we don't even know it.

ZeroUltimate 08-10-2009 05:46 AM

If it looks good i'll eat anything

AkanePeregrinus 08-10-2009 12:06 PM

>_> I don't know...
I mean, it sounds "ok" but I probably wouldn't. It just...eh....
I don't know, I just feel uncomfortable with it. We have enough weird chemicals/genetic fiddling in our food as it is...x_x;

Dr. Nyx 08-10-2009 12:08 PM

I don't think I have ever had it. How would I know? Also, my boyfriend is a vegetarian so my meat intake is minimal at best.

Kalium 08-10-2009 12:23 PM

To my knowledge, cloning affects the cloned organism, not the other organisms that might consume it. So, why not?

me too. I don't eat meat at all.

If it's just like real meat I don't see why not, but if it has less vitamins or cancer infection, then no : x

Claudia 08-10-2009 04:37 PM

sorta, if a product had small amounts of cloned meat in it that I couldn't taste, then yes.
I wouldn't sit down to a cloned meat steak because I still am a herbivore.

One thing I would really enjoy is that I could keep a cat or ferret without the morel dilemma of feeding them.Right now it's hard for me to justify keeping a companion animal and feeding that animal at the expense of the environment and other animals suffering due to factory farming.

.The.Yam.Thief. 08-10-2009 07:30 PM

Sure!

If it tastes the same and has the same healthiness, I don't see why not.
