@Suona - my roommate/friend and I bake a lot. But we don't eat it most of the time. So after we bake a cake we'll take some to our neighbors and some to the RA on our floor. Everyone loved us XDDD

My mom bakes a lot too so I bake with her. We just made a couple cheesecakes the past couple weeks. One was a boston creme cheesecake - it was yummy :D

@Elwing - That's how mine were growing so I had to get all four removed. My mouth is so tiny there was no room for them to grow straight. D:

Suona 08-14-2009 01:24 PM

Ice cream? lol
We were talking about icing and cake, Pix. :P

Elwing 08-14-2009 01:25 PM

Good idea Jack. I don't have a place for my own to do that
at the moment but when I will, I was gonna get strawberry, tomato
and plants like that ^^

@ Maria: Yeah I might get them all removed if this doesnt take too
many days of my life (pain, suffering and fear xD)
Kinda a scarypants if it comes to dentist.

HIM_ROCK 08-14-2009 01:27 PM

Home grown strawberries always taste best.

Suona 08-14-2009 01:28 PM

@ Maria - Ooh. I bet people loved that.
For awhile I'd get random texts from my friends saying they were going out to lunch and if I had cookies for them to swing by and grab. It was pretty funny.

And I always like to visit my aunt becuase she bakes a lot
And anytime that I go over there she'll bake and we make lots of goodies. Its really yummy.

Oooh. You guys made cheesecake?
I love cheesecake. In my house, we get cheesecake for birthdays now, instead of normal cake. It's guarnteed to get eaten then. Haha.

Lol, well, close enough. Like a dessert. Xb

HikariKuro 08-14-2009 01:30 PM

My favorite cake to make is this plum cheese cake. It starts off as a normal cheese cake then you add plum slices on top and a plum glaze. Its great! I also do a great creme brulee cheese cake. Its a bit sweeter than your average cheese cake and a little silkier too! ^_^

Suona 08-14-2009 01:31 PM

@ Pix - And both are very yummy :)

Maria-Minamino 08-14-2009 01:32 PM

@Elwing - that's exactly how I am! The oral surgeon had to give me valium before the surgery took place so that way before i left the house I was already out of it and not freaking out. XDD I've never had surgery done before now so I was really scared. I cried at the office when they told me I had to get them out haha XDD

@Suona - A birthday cheesecake?! That's a BRILLIANT idea! I have to remember that! My mom made cheesecake for me when I got my wisdom teeth out last week. It was so tastyyyyy <3

lol you and your aunt are like my mother and me!

Although I love to bake I can't eat a lot of sweets - it's just so much sweetness XD So I end up eating one or two pieces of what I eat and just giving the rest away to friends or family - but that's half the fun is seeing their reaction!

I tried making an icecream cake once and it was pretty cool - but I want to make one again and make it better! Last time the icecream melted really fast when I put it on the cake. I'm going to freeze the cake first next time XD

Iltu 08-14-2009 01:33 PM

My sister bought a stawberry plant and never planted it! :gonk: So very sad, homegrown strawberries are fantastic...

Mmmm, cake. Red velvet, yellow, and white cake are my favorites. Not terribly fancy, but I have simple tastes.
P.F. Chang's has a mean red velvet cake desert.

Well I had surgery done once under my tongue actualy, it wasn't that bad,
but the pain afterwards... ._.'
I'm scared that I feel so dead again too, and that I can't work.
Probably not cause I work at a telecomunication company.

Jack MacGaven 08-14-2009 01:36 PM

argh curse you all.
Now I'm hungry for something sweet and fruity.
-sighs-

*giggles at everyone talking about cake now* I like making tiny cheesecakes when I cater for parties. I like making tiny bite-size everything if I can, because it looks so cute! I buy lots of different shaped moulds so I can make tiny pretty foods ^.^

Maria-Minamino 08-14-2009 01:39 PM

@Elwing - oh man that had to hurt D: My teeth were healing slowly because of pressure buildup in the sockets so I had to go back and see the surgeon a couple times since the surgery. I'm like - it figures that I would have pain for longer than normal because I didn't want this done so badly XDDD But finally I'm starting to heal right! Which is good because I'm a music major and my instrument is my voice so if I don't have a healed mouth by the time I go back to school it won't be good D: XD

See you got us started talking about all these sweets! And I don't have any to eat so I think I might nom on your hair a bit to see if it actually DOES taste of strawberries.

OoO - I want to go to one of your parties! They sound delicious!

Iltu 08-14-2009 01:40 PM

Viky- My sister makes those! They're delicious, she makes them in plain, coffee, and citrus flavors, with either graham cracker or chocolate cookie crust. She only makes them in circles, though, so I will have to suggest buying other moulds to her. How adorable and fun they would be to eat shaped like stars or hearts!

It works great since cake doesn't usually always get eaten in our house. But cheesecake doesn't last very long at all. lol
And that sounds really nice. I bet it was easy to eat even with a sore mouth.

I can, but I can only have so much. My teeth get rather sensitive since I eat ice all the time, so I can only have so much sugar before they hurt. Which is funny since I dont have cavities and my teeth look fine, but they still ache with too much sugar. Which is sad since I have a major sweet tooth sometimes. And I can never have much sour. Its unpleasant to me.

I've never tried to make that before. Is it difficult?
I'll have to give it a try sometime.

Me too
We have a peach tree out back, but they aren't ripe quite yet
If I eat them, then I tend to have to put peanut butter and sugar on them.

Elwing 08-14-2009 01:42 PM

@maria: well the tooth that i have to let rip out,
it's not showing yet so they have to cut through ._.
I hope they can K.O. me before surgery but I'm afraid
it will costs alot of money cause my ensuranse wont cover it.

Iltu 08-14-2009 01:42 PM

Suona- Peanut butter on peaches? That sounds like an interesting, rather risky idea... I like my peaches just plain, but I might try that, because it sounds intriguing.

Jack MacGaven 08-14-2009 01:42 PM

I'm sure that everything you make looks cute and delicious, Vicky. -winks-

Ah we have plums and apples out in the back as well oh and don't forget the grapes!
Sadly nothing is ripe just yet and the strawberry season is officially over.

You have a strange combination of food there, Suona...

Suona 08-14-2009 01:45 PM

Its actually very good
When the fruit isn't quite ripe enough to eat and have it be sweet on its own, then I do that and it tastes great :)
I'd suggest trying it to anyone thats interested
Its good with other fruit thats like peaches, but I can't think of their name right now
Also very good with bananas. Also with chocolate for those.

Maria-Minamino 08-14-2009 01:45 PM

@Suona - It WAS tasty :D and it was about the only I could eat other than mashed potatoes and icecream XDD

When you make an icecream cake - freeze the cake before putting icecream in the middle. I learn the hard was. I let it cool to room temperature and put the icecream in the middle and it started melting everywhere XDDD

Yeah I'm the same way. No cavaties, nothing. But too much sugar makes me feel sick D:

@Elwing - mine too! All four had to be cut out because there was no where for them to grow in so they were just growing into my other teeth.

that sucks that your insurance won't cover it! My teeth would have been 2000.00 if not for the insurance! We ended up paying 400.00.

Iltu 08-14-2009 01:46 PM

We used to have a plum tree, but when we moved, no more. We never got another fruit tree, though we have a tomato plant, and I do so adore homegrown tomatos. I'd really like to have my own garden for fruits, vegetables, and herbs.

I have very fond memories of that plum tree. My Oma would visit ever summer, just when the plums were getting ripe, and every day I would go to the tree with her and ask her if they were ripe. It was always so exciting when she finally said they ready to eat. :)

Elwing 08-14-2009 01:49 PM

@ Maria: We'll see how it works out. Can't do it all at once anyways,
and next year I have a new year for the ensurance so might do the others
after that.

Maria-Minamino 08-14-2009 01:52 PM

@Elwing - well I hope it works out for you! But doing it in parts would be a lot better for your money but also for the healing. Getting all four out at once was really painful.

Suona 08-14-2009 01:52 PM

@ Maria - Ooh. But both of those are lovely too. ;3;
I'll have to keep that all in mind once I get mine pulled.

Haha. Oh dear, that doesn't sound good.
Seems like it'd make the cake soggy. :o

Yeah, I get taht feeling if I start to have too much of something
It'll be yummy so i'll keep eating, but then my stomach just gets mad with all the sugar

@ Iltu - Ooh. Tomatoes are lovely.
My aunt (dating my neighbor, so she only lives a couple houses down) has a wonderful garden and lots of tomatoes. They're constantly bringing us some and she makes lovely homemade salsa. We have a big fresh bowl of it in our fridge right now. I should snag some.

We dont really have anything like that in our backyard, though. But we do have a peach tree, a grape fruit tree, a pear apple tree, 3 orange trees, and my dad just planted a cherry tree last year.
