Strawberry-I wouldn't mind taking hermit crabs home since I own some already.
the ones on the beach are probably the aquatic ones though. |
@ObsidianRose: Eww! I know what you mean.
|
@white2fire: that is pretty cool. I never knew that.
the beach closest to where I live is contaminated. Technically no one is supposed to enter the water...but they do. lol |
@Dystopia
Whoa, me too! I've tried learning how to swim this year though. I get paranoid when I'm in water because swallowing it is horrible. @Naisou That makes me ask why Coney Island isn't closed. It is really dirty.... |
Well, jeez, I'm going to be sad to see Strawberry Octopus go. D= But I am a realist to know there's not time enough to do EVERYTHING you like, especially at the same time. ._.

Hehe.
These photo's arent mine, but these are the types of shells I usualy find at the beach that I'm going too: |
@Nai: Wow. I wonder if that would stop me...most likely. Some beaches in Michigan have a lot of goose poop. ICK!
@Stawberry: Those are pretty shells. |
the shell on the bottom would be perfect for a hermit crab.....
|
@Mist Dragon: yup, they do. bleh.
@Strawberry Octopus: most of the shells I find are all broken. :( @white2fire: lol, ewww. poop. *winkles nose* |
@ Mist - =o Hermy Crabs! I had some before, but... ;3; Yeah. They died. I still have their shells, tho.
Rose - xDD Oh, jeez. Its better to learn in a pool. |
@Nai: Those would be some bad tasting fish. =P

the painted ones are poisonous to them... which is why I never buy the petsmart crabs unless I'm on a rescue mission... |
@Berry
The second shell from the left is awesome! Won't ever be able to find something like that here... Conch shells are soo pretty. They're pink and shiny inside. |
@Everyone: I'll definately be taking photos of the shells that I find. Just so I can show you guys :)out of my ..ten or so visits to this beach, I've found a total of two really large lightning whelk shells. After huricane rita, a big leather back turtle got smooshed, and died on the same beach :( Whats sad is, its illigal to touch or move turtles like that in louisiana.

@white2fire: yes, they would. and I think that one of the restaurant's near there probably sells them...*gag* Luckily I don't eat much seafood. xD
|
@Nai: O_O I love fish. and shrimp so I don't know what I would do living in your area.
|
I eat LOADS OF SEAFOOD. .-.
And as for other news, the tickets have filled up and I'm choosing the winner. :) |
Yay a new winner. Wonder who it will be. :)
|
white2fire-also, the sand isn't really good bedding for them, unless you get sand from a beach, and bake it to kill anything in it first. That calcium sand isn't even supposed to be a bedding, if you read, they have a serving suggestion...
I still have some living after about three years of owning them, and one is starting to be... like plum sized, and a large plum at that. I wish I had a camera to show you with (calls strawberry) |
@white2fire: yeah, but its just the little local restaurants like, right by the beach. All the other stores import probably. Steamers, and Red Lobster do for sure anyway, so their food is safe. xD
|
Seafood..It's what most people eat here.
I like crabs and lobsters most and of course, fish! Oh, I'm excited about the tickets. >__< |
Okee; I have to go get dressed right quick. Brb!
I just gave away: http://www.menewsha.com/images/items...4ae2db6189.gif |
