"That's alright, Shinorah." Lucina smiled as she took the mop and filled up a bucket. Wanting to finish her chores as soon as possible, Lucina took the mop and bucket upstairs and began to mop her room.

Lori groaned as she finished cleaning the entire downstairs, "Mum, this isn't fair. Yer givin' her all th' easy stuff! Is she really tha' useless tha' ye need t' give her simple tasks all th' time?"
Shinorah sighed, "Lori, love, yer bein' silly. Ye know very well she's not used t' cleanin' like we are. Give 'er time, she'll do more o' th' work yer doin' 'n' give ye a break from it soon enough, I promise. Just give 'er a bit o' time t' get used t' it, please." Sighing, Lori nodded as she worked on the mending, "Yes, mum." |
Lucina bit her lip as she felt tears stinging in her eyes having heard the conversation downstairs, her senses still somewhat above human despite her new mortal body. Lori was right, she was useless. Fighting back a sob, Lucina continued to mop the floor somewhat angrily as a few tears escaped.

Finishing the frame of the window, Adrian paused as he wiped the sweat from his brow. Just as he was beginning to work again, he heard sniffling coming from Lucina's room. Heading to the doorway of Lori's room, Adrian called softly, "Lu? Are ye in yer room?"

"Yes." Lucina called back, wiping her nose on a nearby hankercheif as she cursed herself for being heard. "I'm mopping." She called as she put her mop back in the bucket and started again on her floor.

"Lu.. why don't I believe you," said Adrian softly as he leaned against the door frame, "Lu, what happened? You were fine moments ago.."

Lucina sighed as she dropped the mop to the floor and sat clumsily on her bed, resting her face in her hands. "I was fine until I get to hear just how useless I am." She sighed, a few more tears escaping into her hands. "I hate being mortal. I'm no good at anything I'm doing!" She ranted. "I mean, I fall over when all I need to do is feed animals. And then I can't even pump water and I'm obviously not talented enough to do anything other then mop according to your sister. And that's ust the icing on the cake. I get to hear just how useless I am day in and day out and its only been a few days. And now I'm crying and I never cry in front of people. I'm weak and I'm useless and I'm mortal." She sobbed into her hands, not wanting to look up at Adrian and hating that he was seeing her in such a state.

In moments he was kneeling in front of her, his arms around her as he held her to him, "Shh, don't cry love. Yer not useless, 'n' yer not weak. Sure, yer mortal 'n' yer weaker than usual, but Lucina, yer not useless 'r too weak. Yer perfect, 'n' yer learnin'. Yer catchin' on quickly, that's for sure. Lu, please stop thinkin' like this, 'n' stop listenin' t' me sister. Please.. please believe me when I say that yer not as wretched o' a mortal as ye think, 'n' tha' yer truly amazin'," he added softly as he kissed her tears away.

"Why does she hate me so much?" Lucina whimpered into Adrian's shoulder, tears still flowing down her face. "I'm trying. And all she does is be awful and I just bite my tongue because that's what you want but I hate it. I hate not being able to say anything back. Its torture." She sighed, her forehead resting against his shoulder as her arms wrapped around his neck.

"Lu, I'm afraid there's no stoppin' 'er 'til she's ready t' make peace with ye," Adrian whispered into her hair, "I'm so sorry Lucina, I truly am. If it's getting this terrible, ye need t' say sum'thin'. This can' go on.. I love you, Lu, 'n' I hate seein' ye like this night after night. It needs t' stop. I'll talk t' her if ye like," he added as he gently wiped her tears with the back of his fingers, "D' ye want me t' talk t' her?"

"No, don't bother." Lucina sighed as she wiped away her tears. "But thank you anyways." She smiled as she gave Adrian a tender kiss. "I'm sorry I'm being such a bother. I shouldn't let her get to me like this." She laughed once before giving his cheek a soft kiss.

Resting his forehead against her's, Adrian shook his head softly, "Yer not a bother, love. I'm worried 'bout ye is all. 'n' I will 'bother' t' talk t' her if this keeps up, love. I won't have her alienatin' ye in yer own home, fer however long it may be tha'. I love you, Lu, don't ye see that? D' ye think I like that th' woman I love 'n' me sister can' get along? I want you two t' get along, but I also know tha' sometimes it's impossible fer some people t' get along, they're just too different. 'n' Lu, I think tha's just goin' t' be the case with you two. But a' th' same time, I won' have her treatin' ye like this.. I can't stand seein' her hurt you like this anymore," he said helplessly as he held her close, "If she keeps it up, talk t' her. Straighten things out with 'er. I won' be angry if ye do, I promise, no matter what happens."

"I don't know why you're so kind to me." Lucina laughed softly as she wrapped her arms around Adrian's neck. "Its been centuries since someone was this kind to me." She laughed again, giving him a soft kiss. "I love you too." She whispered softly. "And thank you but I think its best if I talk to Lori. As much fun as that sounds." She sighed.

Caressing her cheek softly, Adrian gently stroked the tears from her cheeks, "I know it won' be fun, love. 'n' I know it'll be hard. Just give it yer best shot, alrigh'? 'n' if things go wrong, ye can always come t' me if ye need to."

"Can I come to anyways if everything goes fine?" Lucina asked before giving him a soft kiss, feeling somewhat better after having talked to him.

Adrian grinned as he placed a long, tender kiss upon her lips, "Well, it'd be ungentl'm'nly o' me t' deny a woman's wish, now wouldn't it."

"What if I don't want to talk?" Lucina whispered coyly between kisses as she brought of her hands to his hair to cup the back of his head as she deepened their kisses.

Adrian chuckled as he eagerly returned her kisses. "'n' wha' exac'ly did ye 'ave in mind, love?" he teased as he trailed his kisses across her jaw and down her neck.

Lucina smiled as she arched her neck and put her hair over her shoulder to expose more skin. "I want to kiss the man I'm in love with." Lucina laughed softly as she felt a shiver down her spine from Adrian's kisses.

Adrian grinned against her neck as he began making his way towards her lips. "I'll be happy t' oblige, Miss Lucina," he whispered softly against her jaw and lips. Placing a long, tender kiss upon her lips, Adrian smiled. "I rather like kissin' ye after all," he teased between kisses.

Lucina smiled against Adrian's lips as she shifted them so that Adrian sat on the bed and she sat with her knees on either side of his hips. Murmuring an agreement, Lucina kissed Adrian passionately as she pressed tighter against him.
"No." She sighed softly as she stood up, shaking her head. "I'm never going to finish my chores if we keep doing this." She sighed. "Why are you so tempting?" Lucina asked, looking over at him. |
Adrian chuckled as he stood up and placed one last tender kiss upon her lips. "Blame it on me Irish charm," he teased softly, "Though, th' same question can be asked o' you, love. But I'd best let ye get back t' work, hm? I'll see ye later, love," he added as he placed a light kiss on her forehead and headed out of her room and back into Lori's room to finish the window.

Lucina smiled as she returned to her mop and finished mopping her room and moving onto the rest of the second floor with her mop and bucket in hand.

Finishing the window, Adrian cleaned up his mess, made Lori's bed back up, and headed to his room to wash up and change before heading downstairs for a glass of lemonade in the kitchen.

Lucina yawned quietly as she finished mopping and stretched her back before picking up the mop and bucket before moving to the stairs and mopping one at a time as she moved downstairs.
