Standing up, Lori teased with a wink, "Ye mean I'll walk you back. Though, I'd very much like t' see ye find yer way back withou' me help. There may be a reward fer ye if ye pass."
"Oh really? And if I fail would ye come t' find me?" Johnny asked as he started to walk in the direction that they had come from. "Or would ye jus' leave me ou' here t' suffer?" He teased.
"Hmm.. Well, if I left ye 'ere t' suffer, I run th' risk o' ye no' likin' me anymore. If I come 'n' save ye, I run th' risk o' ye fallin' in love with me due t' bein' yer hero. Which risk would be more worth it?" Lori inquired teasingly up at Johnny.
"Well fo' wha' its worth I rather like th' idea o' ye bein' my hero." Johnny smiled at Lora as they walked. "Bu' if its all th' same t' ye I'd prefer ye jus' stay with me?" He said, his tone making the statement a question.
Lori smiled as she stood on her toes and placed a gentle kiss upon his lips, "I think I prefer tha' option as well."
Johnny couldn't help but smile from Lori's affections, wondering how he could have possibe attracted such a smart girl as her. It was a bit strange as Johnny thought about how affectionate she'd always seemed towards his boss instead of noticing him. But the turning of the tables made Johnny slightly giddy and put a new spring in his step.
When they reached the clearing before her house, Lori frowned slightly. "I guess this is goodbye, for now," Lori said with a small smile, giving his hand a gentle squeeze. "When will I see you again?"
"If yer free this weekend we're goin' up t' th' waterfall sunday." Johnny reminded her. "If ye can go jus' meet me at th' fountain at 10." He said before cupping Lori's chin. A bit hesitant at first, Johnny leaned forward to give Lori's lips a chaste kiss.
Lori blushed a deep scarlet as she nodded, "I'll meet ye a' th' fountain. Until then, Johnny." With a warm smile, Lori looked over her shoulder at Johnny before going inside. Leaning back against the door, Lori couldn't keep the smile from her lips. It wasn't the first time she had ever been kissed, far from it, yet it seemed like it was the first real kiss she had ever experienced, and it was magical.
Johnny ran both of his hands through his hair as he practically skipped back to the village. He'd never kissed anyone before he was thrilled that his first kiss had been with Lori. Now he could hardly wait until Sunday when he'd get to see her again.
"Lori, is tha' you?" Shinorah called from the living room.
"Yes Mama, 'tis me," Lori said happily as she nearly twirled as she walked to the living room, "And I had th' most wonderful time." "Oh?" "I saw Johnny, 'n' we talked, 'n' walked." "Is 'e wha' ye though'?" "No, Mama, he's bet'er." "I'm glad," Shinorah said with a warm smile, "When d' ye see 'im again?" "Sunday, if ye don' mind me goin away fer th' day." "No, no, I'll be alrigh' by meself." "By... yerself?" "Yes, Lucina 'n' Adrian 're goin' on a small trip." "Mama, then I'm not goin'. I'm no' goin' t' leave ye 'ere alone." |
Lucina smiled happily, humming to herself as she finished packing up her clothes for the weekend. Nearly skipping down the hall, Lucina knocked quietly on Adrian's door as she leaned up against the door frame.
"Come on in Lu," Adrian called with a warm smile as he finished packing his bag, "Finish packing?"
"Yup." Lucina said happily as she bounced over to Adrian and dropped her bag before wrapping her arms around Adrian's waist. "I'm so excited for this trip." She laughed, her face practically lighting up.
"I can tell," Adrian teased as he lightly kissed the tip of her nose, "Would you prefer it we left tonight?"
"No, no." Lucina grinned as she buried her face in his neck. "The anticipation makes it more fun." She laughed before leaning back to give Adrian a long kiss. "I love you, Adrian." She said softly between kisses.
"I love you too," Adrian whispered against her lips before placing a long, tender kiss upon her lips. "Now that we're all packed, shall we see about getting this house prepared for a weekend away without us?"
"Yes we should." Lucina smiled. "But uhm, how do we go about doing that?" Lucina asked shyly with a smile blush on her cheeks.
"Clean it so it's spotless so neither of them have to worry about it this weekend," Adrian said with a warm smile before capturing his fiancee's lips in his own. "You up for the challenge?"
"I think I might be." Lucina laughed as she linked a hand with his. "So where do we start, should I mop?" She asked curiously, tiliting her head to the side.
"How about you dust the downstairs, and I'll dust up here. Then you can sweep down there while I sweep up here. I'll mop the entire house, though, if you'll do the dishes?" Adrian asked with a warm smile as he gave her hand a gentle squeeze.
"Sounds like a plan." Lucina said as she gave his lips a quick peck before going downstairs to the kitchen to get a dust cloth. Walking into the living room to start there, Lucina saw Lori and Shinorah. "Oh, hi Lori." She said shyly before going over to the mantel and beginning to dust.
"Hi, Lucina," Lori said with a sigh as she placed a kiss upon her mother's cheek before going upstairs to her room.
"Ye didn' run 'er off, Lucina, don' worry. She's jus' bein' stubborn 'cause she wants t' go spend th' day with Johnny on Sunday, bu' she doesn' want t' leave me alone, with you both bein' gone, is all," Shinorah explained with a warm smile as she finished Lucina's wedding dress. Putting her things back into the basket, Shinorah stood, with some difficulty, and held out the dress for Lucina. "Wha' d' ye think? Is it wha' ye pictured?" |
"She won't leave to be with Johnny unless someone is here with you?" Lucina said as she walked over to her dress and took it into her fingers. "Its beautiful Shinorah." She smiled up at her future mother-in-law. "Thank you for making this. Its absolutely flawless." She giggled happily before becoming more serious. "If Lori won't leave unless we stay here then we can stay this weekend. We can go to the cabin as a honeymoon or something." Lucina said, surprising herself at the idea. She really wanted to be alone with Adrian for the weekend but she wanted more to be on his sister's good side.
"Nonsense, love. Lori'll go even if I 'ave t' beat 'er with me cane until she's out th' door. You 'n' that boyo o' mine jus' go 'n' 'ave fun, alrigh'? Don' worry about anythin' here," Shinorah said with a warm smile, "'n' I'm glad ye like th' dress. I'll star' on' Lori's dress after I get the mendin' done," Shinorah said with a warm smile as she picked up the basket and started mending socks and stockings once again.
While Shinorah and Lucina were talking downstairs, Adrian and Lori were talking upstairs about Johnny and the waterfall that Sunday, arguing over the fact of Lori going or not. |
