Adrian smiled against her lips as he cradled her in his arms and stood up. Taking her into her bedroom, he laid her on the bed before laying beside her and hovering over her. "I promise, no further," he assured her as his hand caressed her side and he brought his lips back to hers.

Lucina smiled at Adrian's promise as she twirled her fingers in his hair, pulling his lips harder against his as they kissed. Running one of her hands down Adrian's side, Lucina wrapped it around to the middle of Adrian's back and balled the fabric into her fist.

Adrian's hand roamed her side as they kissed, his fingertips massaging her skin as he pulled her closer. "We really shouldn't be doin' this," he whispered against her lips, though he didn't pull back and continued to kiss her passionately, tenderly.

"Tell me if you want to stop." Lucina whispered against his lips as she brought one of her legs to wrap around Adrian's so her toes trailed against the back of his calf. Lucina pulled Adrian tighter against her as her tongue slipped shyly between his lips to caress her own.

"Do you want t' stop, Lucina? Ye've only known me a day," he whispered against her lips as he continued to kiss her, "Shouldn't ye wait fer someone ye love?"

Lucina pushed Adrian away rather roughly before crawling backwards and getting off her bed. "You think I'd let things go that far?" She asked angrily, her temper rising. "I've lived over two hundred years. I think I'd have better judgement then that." She said, nearly hissing with anger. "Well excuse me for getting a little carried away." She said, her voice softening slightly. "Its been a while since anyone's showed any...affection towards me." She said, her eyes not meeting Adrian's.
"But that's not really any concern to you, is it?" She asked, the ice in her voice returning. |
Adrian sighed as he ran his hand through his hair as he stood from the bed and made his way to the door, "Lu.. I'm sorry.. I don' know how things work where yer from, but 'ere on Earth? Th' way ye acted leads a man t' believe tha's what ye want.. If ye think me intention was t' get tha' from ye, yer wrong. It was never me motive at all.. Please fergive me," said Adrian softly as he left her room and headed back to his. Sighing, he plopped onto his bed and picked up his book and tried to focus on reading, though his thoughts drifted to Lucina and the biggest mistake he ever made. He didn't mean to ruin things between them, he honestly thought that's what she was getting at. He should have known better.

Lucina sighed as she placed her fingers on her temple. Humans were so naive. She couldn't believe that she was stuck with them for another year. As her headache started to subside, Lucina made her way to Adrian's room and knocked on his door lightly.
"Its not really your fault for being naive." Lucina teased, a small smile playing on her lips. "You're only in your twenties after all." She joked, resting against the doorframe as she waited for a response. "I'm sorry for leading you on." She added softly, not entirely sure he would hear that part. |
Sighing as he got off his bed and opened the door, Adrian leaned against the opposite side of the door frame and teased, "Are ye always goin' t' hold me age against me? Is it my fault I wasn't born two hundred 'n' fifty-eight years ago?"
Offering a small smile, Adrian held his hand out for her's, "'n' yer fergiven, jus' this once." |
"Maybe I'll rub it in your face a little longer." Lucina teased, blushing slightly as he took her hand. "Thank you." She added shyly. "I don't know how long I'd last if both you and Lori hated me. And I wouldn't know what to do if you threw me in the streets." She laughed quietly.

Linking their fingers, Adrian brought her fingertips to his lips for a light kiss, "Nonsense, love. I wouldn't throw ye out, nor would I hate ye. I'm rather fond o' ye, remember?" he added with a wink.

"Right." Lucina laughed. "Guess I forgot that part." She teased. "My mind was focusing on much different things." She added with a wink before starting back towards her room. "The next storm's in a few days." She said as she turned to give him a shy smile before disappearing into her room and picking up with the Jane Austen book and picking up where she'd left off.

Shaking his head lightly, Adrian shut the door and went back to his bed to read, not hearing Shinorah and Lori pull up in the wagon with groceries and cloth.
Lori, glad to be away from Lucina for awhile, sighed as she trudge inside with the groceries. Shinorah, happy it had stopped raining for the time being, walked in with the cloth and called to Lucina, "Lucina, love? We're back! Come see th' cloth 'n' let me measure ye fer th' clothes!" "Lori, love, go get me measure." "Sure thing mum," Lori sighed as she fetched it from the sewing basket and brought it to her mother before heading out of the living room and going to see Adrian. |
Lucina smiled as she took a small piece of paper from the night stand to hold her place in the book before hurrying down the stairs and into the living room. "Welcome back." Lucina smiled, her mood considerably lightened. "How was it in town?" Lucina asked as she walked over to Shinorah and ran her fingers over the fabric. "Its so smooth." She smiled happily.

"It was excitin'. There's a fair comin' with gypsies 'n' fire breathers. It'll be a wonderous sight t' see," Shinorah smiled, "I'm glad ye like th' fabric. It looked like yer dress from yesterd'y, 'n' I thought ye might feel a wee bit more at home with th' fabric as it is. D' ye mind yer dresses lookin' like ours though? I'm afraid it's th' only pattern I 'ave," she admitted with a blush.

"I don't mind." Lucina said happily. "I can't wait to see it. Are we going in town for the festival?" She asked Shinorah excitedly.

Shinorah nodded as she began measuring Lucina, "Aye, we can go if ye like. It'll be 'ere in a couple o' days 'n' we'll 'ave t' get th' chores done first. But if we're done by ev'nin', then I'll 'ave Adrian take ye 'round 'n' I'll take Lori, if tha's alright?"

"That sounds like fun." Lucina smiled, the mention of Lori's name bringing down her bright mood only slightly. "I've never been to a festival before. At least not one with gypsies." She laughed, remembering the festivals she'd attended at home. They'd mostly been dances and feasts, never much entertainment except for music and such.

Shinorah smiled as she wrote down the measurements and brought the cloth to the kitchen table with her sewing basket, "I'm sure Lori's tellin' Adrian all about th' festival now, so ye may be stuck with me fer a wee bit, I hope ye don' mind 'n old lady like meself showin' ye around fer a bit," she added with a chuckle as she laid out the fabric and the pattern upon it. outlining the pattern, she went about cutting the fabric.

"Of course not." Lucina smiled as she sat at the table and rested her chin on her hands as her elbows rested on the table. Lucina traced the designs in the wood of the table as she thought of what a human festival would be like. As a Goddess she'd usually kept the weather sunny for such events though her anger sometimes led her to create thunderstorms for the troublesome humans.

Shinorah smiled as she finished cutting out part of the dress and began cutting out another piece, "You've never been t' one, righ'? Would ye like t' know th' events 'n' such tha' us'ally take place a' th' festival?"

"Yes." Lucina said happily, looking up at Shinorah eagerly. "I've never been to a festival before. all the celebrations back home were just dancing and feasting. There was never any...gypsies, did you call them?" She asked.

"Aye, gypsies. They dress rather revealin'ly, but they're sweethearts. Me own Grandmother was a gypsy before she met me Grandfather. They dance, they do palm readin's, they tell ye yer future through cards 'r stones. They don' lie though, I can guarantee tha'. But I'm afraid ye 'ave t' go t' the outskirts o' th' festival, but I'm sure Adrian'll take ye. He usually takes Lori down t' get 'er fortune read. If ye ask him, he'll take ye after he takes Lori. Then ye can see th' dances as well. Lori's not fond o' them, so no worries there, love. There's also a lot o' food t' try that comes from all o'er Ireland. There 're also horse rides 'n' plays 'n' music throughout th' festival," added Shinorah as she finished cutting the fabric and began threading the needle to work on sewing the pieces together.

"It sounds beautiful." Lucina sighed peacefully as she rested her chin in her hands while her elbows were propped on the table. "Did you say something about fire-breathers?" Lucina asked curiously. She'd seen Gods show off such powers but she was amazed that humans could achieve it as well. "Can they really breathe fire?" She asked.

"More o' an effect, love. They hold torches 'n' spit alcohol int' them as they dance around 'n' juggle. Their performance is truly a sight t' see, I think ye'll enjoy it when ye see it," said Shinorah with a smile as she began sewing a the bodice together.
