Drakevaldor & Kai La Morte
Selene let out a soft sigh while looking over her son, who had to be rendered unconcious due to his rare abnormality, while he slept he cried. Speaking of a man named Nadir, his father. Years had already passed by, but, Calanon's anger grew with him, his hatred for Selene worsened to such a point that, while on the throne, he ordered to have her locked up, though a fruitless effort, it was an attempt.
"he's here my queen" William smiled, speaking in a soft voice "thank you, bring him in" she tipped her head in a sense giving him her thanks |
~He awaited the request, and upon receiving it, walked past William and into the room.~
"M'lady..." His voice came, low and deep. He appeared quite young, only in his twenties at most. And, for a human, he was in great shape, his slender form filling his perfectly-fit black training clothes well. "You've sent for me?" ~As he awaited her answer, he shifted a bit, the two blades at his sides slapping lazily against his cloth-covered legs, their shine bright. He looked at the unconscious, crying boy, thinking as he listened.~ |
"Hello, thank you for meeting me Drake. My son is out of control, his powers exceed his age by far" she shivered thinking of how long Calanon has been unconciousness, this of course did put a strain on her heart "i need you to help train him, he needs to learn to fight without cheating, without crying and begging for mercy" while she spoke her voice wavered in an attempt to prove her point she lifted her wrist "i tried training him myself, he sliced both of my wrists, which nearly killed me, this is where you come in young sir"
Selene was beautiful but no older then nineteen. Her race aged very slowly, she had high cheek bones, full lips, bright teal eyes and silky blonde hair, the men of her village wanted her, but knew, since she was of course royalty she was off limits. This helped her while ruling over calanon's kingdom. |
~he nodded a bit and looked the boy over carefully, his deep, beautiful, glacier-blue eyes traveling along his small form.~
"I can feel the power coming from him for sure." He said, looking up to the lady and giving her a nod. His eye-length brown hair flailed a bit as he did. "We will have to leave here if I am to train him effectively. You have to agree not to interfere with the training. But I must ask...why would he wish to hurt you so?" As he asked, he turned from her, walking towards the doorway and looking about. |
"his father died about two years ago, and all this time he's blamed me for Nadir's departure" she shook her head, trying to keep the tears from spilling onto her cheeks again, she abruptly stood to her feet walking over to Calanon, pulling the nine-year-old into her arms cradling him, the boy instictively cuddled his mother, wrapping his arms around her neck "shh, momma's here" she whispered "i will not interfere" she promised looking him over several times before knowing that he was skilled
EDIT: while she did her thoughts roamed over what Calanon would become, of what is to happen, but, when she did her face took on a light pink pigmentation. |
~He nods a little, looking the girl over once, and smiling soft.~
"I'll take good care of him while he's in my hands. You'll see, as time progresses, his actions towards you will be better. Once he gets all that energy out of him, he'll see the truth, and how things are." ~He thought a moment before speaking again~ "We'd best be off if we're going to get to my camping place before dark." He said as he exited the room. |
"will i be traveling with you?" she asked curiousity suddenly spiking, she hadnt the slightest idea of what to do other than to follow the young man while Calanon sleapt "or will you be taking my son with you?" when she spoke her voice trembled, she shivered a few times before slowly scanning the room, they were alone.
Since nadir died Selene found it hard to be alone, she was always surrounded with people, this somehow distracted her from her terrible reality. |
He shrugged a bit. "Whichever way you prefer. As I said, if you do come along, you have to be careful not to become involved too much in it. If you do, it could throw off his feelings, which is a big part of what he's learning."
He offered her a light smile. "It's not all bad, I promise you." Not knowing what else to say, He walked down the hall and waited at the main entrance of the building for her, waiting to see what she decided, either to come with him, or give him the boy. |
"i'm coming" she spoke in a soft whisper slowly pushing the hair from her face, she made sure calanon continued sleeping or he would most likely pull his sword out in another attempt against her life. Her voice was sweet, gentle and somehow motherly all at the same time "sir drake?" she asked looking into his eyes, admiring his smile "what made you come? my people say you're a lost cause, that you only help others for profit. But, you seem wonderful seeing as how i have yet to pay you" her words were gentle, soothing somehow.
|
-he shrugged a little, looking out over the horizon from the open door in which he stood. His eyes glanced left and right, taking in the entire scene.
"Being who I am...I'm naturally going to be misunderstood." He says, looking back at her, eyes fixed on hers. "I have to charge, usually...since private things take away from my normal duties in the kingdom." He shook his head. "Were it only for profit, I would not leave my kingdom. When it comes to a child, I feel the need to help." HE looked at her gently. "If you're ready, we'd best be leaving." |
she nodded having already packed her things she blushed deeply from the embarrassment of having thought every aspect through "thank you. We will pay you if you need it" she offered "do you take jewels?" her question was obvious, of course he did, why wouldnt he? elves were notorious for having the best jewels, for hording the most expensive items from the rest of the world revealing them in only a dire situation.
"thank you" she smiled offering her best one "my things have already arrived at your camp, though of course they are mostly Calanon's. His swords are waiting for you to teach him how to use" she was placing her one and only son's fate in the hands of a total stranger. Anyone who knew her, knew that this was strange for her. |
He shook his head a little.
"They've been sent to an area outside the forest where my camp is. Nobody knows the exact location of it, because then it wouldn't be a safe place to train." His words trailed off some, watching her. He reached out and took the boy, gently, from her, cradling him in his arms. "Stay close, the forest is easy to get lost in. We must pick up his items first, and then head to camp." |
"yes, and i agree about your remote location" she laughed feeling Calanon's weight being shifted from her to him, she knew he would be alright, if not then she would have to kill the newly hired trainer.
She took in a deep breath holding it for about five seconds before releasing it "how old are you?" she found herself asking in a rather embarrasing way, her eyes widened and jaw tensed, she never cared about age before but suddenly found it shockingly important, why now? maybe because her only child's life was depending on it |
He laughed a bit, holding the boy carefully as he walked down the dirt path with her.
"I'm 22 years old." He said, looking at her. There was no way she could know by looking at him how powerful he was, especially with magic. There was a reason it was his name given, and nobody else's. SHe probably didn't know that he was known pretty much everywhere for his power. "And might I ask the same of you? And your boy?" |
"unlike me his age is true to his physical body" she blushed "he is nine years old and i however am more complicated. Since elves live long lives as most myths, we tend to loose track after one hundred? i am the first in my kingdom to have a child in over a century" selene spoke with expierence and knowledge, she shook her head knowing that this may ruin his image of her, she expected for him to shun the child and run from her, like the others.
|
He simply shrugs a little, continuing to carry the boy into the woods, pushing aside the branches as he does, turning this way and that to angle himself to fit with the boy through the trees and bushes.
"Stay close." He said, looking back at her, weaving more and more through them. |
selene smiled while she walked through the forest the branches bent away from her of course she was an earth elemental, she decided it would be nice of her if she did the same for drake, their travel was made easier with the trees bending out of their was as though a large wind were leading them "better?"
|
HE nods a bit. "I'm used to not using my magic for simple things like that. I was always taught not to."
HE chuckles a little, realizing who he was talking to. "Not that it matters much for you, you don't have to fight." He looked to the boy below him as they approached a clearing. "His things will be up here. There shouldn't be much, I asked for the bare minimums since I have everything we will really need." |
"you have women and children's clothes?" she asked in obvious amusement, she bit her lower lip from nervous habit "you know i'm able to fight, right? i was trained as a young girl to fend for myself" she sighed "that's why Calanon hates me so much, because i chose to let nadir go into the fight alone for the first time--ever" while she spoke her voice seemed strange as though she were happy, but sad
|
That's fine." He said bluntly to her statement. "You just don't need to."
He kept walking until they entered the clearing. "I do have childrens' clothing at the camp, but enough to last him while we're there. We move on a few days after arriving , at which point we buy new ones. You'll understand as time goes on." |
she nodded deciding that she would have to step back from her crown to become a real person again, she had of course lost touch with who she was before her regal position. She sighed again taking the fresh air deep into her lungs "alright. I'll do whatever you need me to" she smiled again hopeing to calm her suddenly flaring nerves, considering she hasnt been in such a position before, having her son's life in the balance, she knew he wouldnt wake until they arrived at camp, at that time, he would attempt to attack her again.
|
-getting to the stuff, he looked about. One sword, a set of clothing... that was it. He grinned, liking this.-
"Perfect." He says, looking back to her, and handing her the things, since there wasn't much. "You can handle carrying this the short distance to camp, since I have the boy." He said, looking down at him. |
"alright" she agreed slowly picking her son's sword up as well as his extra change of clothes. She herself bore nothing but the clothes on her back. She had removed her tiara in an attempt to reconnect with the woman she was before she met Nadir, before she concieved Calanon "how far is it anyway?" she was curious, not complaining.
|
He looked back at her before stepping back into the woods and speaking.
"No more than 15 minutes." He said, voice calm and smooth, boy still sleeping in his arms as he walked. "What has him unconscious? A spell?" |
"no, his previous trainer put him in submission, Calanon went on a rampage he killed two people and injured four of our best guards. Basically he's---- resting normally recuperating" she sighed, strapped the sword onto her back and continued walking.
Edit: while she walked her mind wandered over the night she couldnt stop her son, the look in her friends eyes while the fell at the hands of the child, she shivered pushing such memories away. |
