This ship of aliens appears over south africa of sickly aliens, so earth takes them in and nurses them, but seal them off in these slums, and they decide to move them because of the crime and squalor. Shit happens and things get freaky. It starts out as a documentary type movie. It's freaky, but looked like it was just about to get awesome when I was damn near ready to toss my lunch into my remaining snacks. :sick:

We told my brother where we stopped and he confirmed that that was the exact spot where it all got good.

District 9 is about an alien space ship that lands over an area in Africa, and stops. Humans get the aliens off the ship and put them into an area called "District 9", where they make them live in shacks. It's basically a lesson on racism, hidden behind a sci-fi movie. I thought it was extremely sad, the way they treat the aliens. It's an interesting movie and it's lower budget than most recent films, but it still looks pretty amazing.

I loved the movie, but my mom thought it was the dumbest thing she's ever seen. I asked her why she thought that and she just said it was so unbelievable, and she didn't have any feelings for the aliens... :/
