@Fuyumi - I haven't watched much anime lately. I started watching the spring season stuff and just dropped it. I'm still following a few manga, like Skip Beat. Oddly enough, when the Skip Beat anime was announced, I thought it was Skip Kiss and got confused XD
I'll watch CSI if I'm bored, but I don't actually follow it, not like the other stuff I've been watching. |
I don't really "follow" any shows other than House and Heroes.
Yes, Hiro is sick (that kinda popped up in the last season), but I haven't seen a bisexual Claire yet (but in retrospect there's room for it). The end of the third season made me SO MAD so I want to see if they can deal with up a certain loose end in this one (which actually looks likely within the next two or three episodes). If you want I'll write a spoiler tag for an extremely paraphrased third season. |
@Cookie
XD lol. That would be very interesting indeed if it was. 8wonders* it's still an ongoing series, Skip Kiss is. I like Skip Beat. I haven't really watched any anime at all other than Hetalia, recently. I'm more into manga. It doesn't take as much time to read it as it does to watch it. @Keyori I haven't seen Heroes at all. Not one episode. I wanted to, but now it's so late in the series that I don't think I can catch up. |
@Keyori - I usually don't follow series at all, I'm so horrible at keeping schedules. Though with streaming tv and Hulu and stuff it's sooooooo much easier. Plus more stuff just caught my attention this season. It's unusual, but fun.
The Bisexual Claire thing was in an article that hinted at things to come this new season, so I expect it'll pop up eventually. Though when I read the article I was like "So that's how they want to try to win viewers back? With bisexual Claire?" If they wanted to throw some gayness in there, I would have been more than happy to see them make Matt, Mohinder and Molly into a big happy family with Matt and Mohinder as Molly's two dads. But they didn't. Ruined a perfectly cute family *pouts* Anyway, yeah, I'm not gonna watch Heroes again so you don't have to explain it. But you can if you want, just to boost your gold ^_~! @Fuyumi - Well they are going to come out with a few yaoi anime eventually. A new Ai no Kusabi is in the works and there's a Sex Pistols OVA. I like it when you come into a manga that has a lot out already and you can read through instead of having to wait for new stuff each week or month, depending on its schedule. |
@ Fuyumi: You can catch up. Watch the first season, read summaries of the second and third (and watch the last 3 or so episodes of the third), and then you're caught up! Really, the third season is too painful to watch all of, and by now the second season is kindof irrelevant. The first season will just help you get familiar with the characters.
That reminds me, I haven't seen Mohinder in any episodes recently. I wonder what he's up to, I can't remember what he was doing last. Third Season (Keyori version): SPOILER |
@Cookie
eh.. Takes so much time though. And I have a bad tendency to get curious and read spoilers..T_T Really? that's cool. I'm glad they are. I hope they're not in english though. English voice overs for yaoi... *shudders* @Keyori Ah, Okay I will do that. Lol. I'll visit youtube sometime tomorrow. It'll be an adventure. |
@Cookie: I have a few animes and mangas that I have yaoi pairings I like from it...I have looked a little bit into Harry Potter as well, Fullmetal Alchemist, Rurouni Kenshin, One Piece, Kingdom Hearts, and other series of the like.
@Fuyumi: You should definitely try reading it some times 8D |
I don't think I'll ever get my enthusiasm for Heroes back. *sighs*
@Fuyumi - I'm pretty good at avoiding spoilers. And agreed on the yaoi in English x_x Do not want! But then there are a lot of anime that I find awkward dubbed over. @Butterfly - I do like Fullmetal Alchemist, though I have the weirdest pet pairing. XD Despite preferring the manga over the series, one part of my OTP is from the first anime only. Archer and Kimblee is my big pet pairing. I love those two bastards together. |
@Butterfly
Ok, I will XD The art is certainly unique. @Cookie So True. There really is just no way to have a good anime in english..Like unless the Japanese voice actors learned english fluently and could pull it off. For some reason the worst voice actors are chosen for characters in english sometimes. It's sad. |
@Keyori - I dunno if you noticed since you're pretty new, but with the multi-pose items on Menewsha, you can use more than one pose at once. You can use them all if you want to. All at the same time!
@Fuyumi - I disagree. They can certainly have a good anime in English, but they rarely ever try. I really enjoyed the Vampire Hunter D movie in English. I also like Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo in English. They had some good voices for those. But for every good voice, there's dozens of bad, unsuitable voices out there. They just hire any cheap actor who can do more than one voice I think. |
@Cookie: FMA is one of my favorite animes. I thought it was a pretty well done series. It incorperated humor, heart-wrenching sad moments (like when Hughes died T_T), and it has seriousness incorporated in it as well. I think a series that can incorporate a diverse spectrum of emotions into it is a good quality series.
|
@Cookie: I did notice, and I thought about having rose pants, but I really like my underpants. xD
For now I think I'll just stick with the top. I'm very happy with the purple though! Maybe I'll put pants on later. |
@Cookie
I agree about Samurai Champloo. I haven't seen any of the other manga you mentioned though. So I guess it's not right for me to say all. I know there are like a handful of good voice actors, it's just sometimes they are chosen for the wrong parts.. Like Naruto..*shudders* well not all the characters..but some of them... I would be a voice actor if I could.. well i gotta go to bed, good night |
@Butterfly - I like FMA too, but I prefer the manga. All those heart wrenching moments are from it after all. And then the anime went off the rails and went complete alternate universe, which always just bugged me. Despite liking Archer, the way things ran off course and the origins of the homonuculus and the badguys and stuff changed just made me angry. And then they went and did a new series that's supposedly more faithful to the manga, only the first episode was completely fabricated and I hated the new voice casting.
@Keyori - Cool cool. On Wednesdays, which we do "Naked Wednesdays" on, I run around wrapped in my red roses XD @Fuyumi - The first and only episode of Naruto I saw in English made me laugh so hard. It was awful XD Good night! See you later ^_^ |
@Fuyumi: good night! *huggles* sleep well
@Cookie: Yeah...the manga did seem a bit better than the anime at some points, I will admit...though the anime had some parts that had me laughing my ass off...like Edward's fight with Roy when he was going for re-examination or whatever it's called...the episode where Fury brought in a dog? that episode amused the hell out of me xDD oohhh.....don't even get me started on how bad the english voice acting was for the dubbed version of Naruto...seriously...I think my ears started bleeding...I couldn't watch a full episode |
@Butterfly - Well I'm sure that all those scenes were in the manga as well. It's been a whiel since I read/watched though.
Like I said, I only watched one episode. I was bored. At least it made me laugh XD Unlike the first time I heard the voice of Kouga on Inuyasha. I screamed and threw a tantrum and my brother looked at me like "WTF is wrong with this crazy chick?" Because I already hated what Scott McNeil had done with Duo in Gundam Wing. But to hear him give Kouga this stupid surfer dude voice? WTF! Just WTF! It wasn't even that I really liked Kouga or Inuyasha, I just hate Scott McNeil. >_< |
And that is why I watch subbed anime. That and it makes more sense. Have you seen the difference between English(sub) sailor moon and English(dub) sailor moon? Wow.
Anyways. Hello! *glomps* |
@Cookie: lawl...I can understand how that feels. I just wish that they would try and get someone who is at least somewhat close to what the character sounded like in the original Japanese. There have been so many voice actors who did pretty bad jobs with the character they're dubbing. there are a couple of exceptions I can think of that were good...like Pegasus from Yu Gi Oh XDDD his japanese and english voice actor sounded practically identical...it was surprising...especially considering how 4Kids fucks up anime that they dub...
there have been a couple of animes that the dubbers did a go decent job of dubbing the series. like Trigun wasn't half bad...I never saw the japanese of Cowboy Beebop so I don't have anything to make a comparison...but I was told that the dubbing was decent. Outlaw Star wasn't bad either. |
Wifey! *glomps*
Actually, I didn't like the voices of Japanese Sailor Moon. I know that the American version is all hacked up, but I still like it. At least the first parts that I originally watched when I was younger. When they did the voice flips later on, I couldn't watch it anymore. @Butterfly - Considering the economy and how the anime business has been slowly sinking, is it really all that surprising that they'd get a bunch of really cheap, not great voice actors to dub things with though? |
I'm so glad i found this place again ^_^ (i thought i lost it)
|
@Cookie: ^_^~
Eh true. I watch most anime subbed cause of the fact the story makes more sense. :P |
@Makoto - Welcome back. You can subscribe to the thread. Up at the top of the page where it says "Thread Tools" you can click on the triangle and subscribe. Then when you click My account, you'll see if we've been updated.
@Wifey - Tail! *pounces* I watch most of my anime subtitled as well. Bootlegged no less! D: Not that I don't have a closet full of anime, cause I do. |
@Cookie: See I knew you would do that. XD
I don't buy much of anything. >_> But mostly because the things I buy I don't wind up reading/watching. The stuff I don't buy I actually watch/read it. Hence most of the books in my bookshelf haven't been read by my ever. |
Anime DVDs are too expensive to me, so I usually only buy manga...not that I have a lot of those either, since I mainly read them off the Internet lately :sweat: I buy the ones that I really like though, such as Death Note (before it went downhill). From past experiences of buying manga that started off good but ended crappily, I now only buy manga that have already finished...so I wonder when I'll ever be able to buy Hunter x Hunter since the mangaka loves running off and going on hitatus so much :|
|
I see, that does seem a lot easier ^_^ I'll add this place indeed.
to add my cents worth on the topic ^_^ I usually read/watch a series, one or two episodes, then if i like it. I'll buy it ^_^; or have someone buy it as like...a gift or another |
