Edwyn sat in his section of the stage, where the orchestra had been set up for seven days of practicing before the big show that night. He was alone in the hall now, everyone had left hours earlier; he always stayed behind to practice on his own. Not that he needed it with the more than three-hundred years of practice he had under his belt. None-the-less, he played on, eyes closed for he had already had this music memorized ages ago.

The Grande Immortal Orchestra was a sort of infamous orchestra with an ironic name for him. Edwyn himself was immortal, and found the orchestra and him to have that in common, since music could never die either. The Grande Immortal played behind many singers in many operas, and for many years, as can be expected. No one really knew when they had played, and no one really knew their name... But they would now. This was thier first solo preformance: no singers, no opera, just the instruments. It was supposed to be a publicity stunt. There were going to be many singers there, and many opera conductors, looking to possibly hire them for background music. They weren't doing the performance to show off, they were doing it to get buisness.

It disappointed Edwyn; he had always maintained the fact the brilliant musicians there had never gotten the recognician they deserved. He sat in his street clothes, a gray sleeveless hoodie over a black turtleneck, as well as dark blue almost black jeans and converse high tops, where he would sit in a tuxedo a mere few hours later, under bright lights and many pairs of watching eyes.

Alexandria was sitting on the soft plush of a leather couch listening to her manager drone on about her next 'big gig'. Of the more than three hundred years she had been alive- this man had to be the most annoying one she had ever had the displeasure of knowing. She had wanted to be a singer since to was young, back when it was rare to be professional singer; now everyone and there mother was thanks to voice altering technology.

Alexandria was an immortal- a vampyre if you will. She has sung for many kings and queens, royals and riches; But never has she ever loved any one of the preformances she put on. Always her shows had been to please others and never has she sung the music that truly plucked her heart strings.

"Orchestra" was the first word she actually heard come out of her managers mouth. 'Preforming with and Orchestra?' She thought inwardly. She then smiled an nodded- the most attention her manager had and would ever get. She adored orchestras, they always made her smile. Alexandria could not wait to see what skill level they had. She got up and dressed appropriately knowing the way orchestra preformers had to dress.

When Edwyn looked at the time at the end of the fourth piece he had played, he sighed. He put his violin away and walked to his car. He put his violin in the passanger seat when he got in and drove home to get ready. He rushed up the stairs with the violin, putting it gently on his table while he got ready, which only took him ten minutes. He had another hour and fifteen minutes before he had to be back at the hall for the performance. He put on the radio and found a station that would temporarily satisfy him. While he loved classical music, he was also very into genres that sounded nothing like it. He found something he could appreciate about all must, almost. Certain things kids listened to these days were repulsive, like most forms of rap.

He put his tuxedo jacked over the back of one of his chairs and began to polish his violin. It was part of his pre-performance routine. He loved his violin, even over all the other instruments he had learned to play. When he was finished the polishing, he made sure it was intune, perfectly intune. Vampyres had vastly better hearing than humans, and could always tune instruments to exact perfection. He gently slide it back in its case and locked it in gently, then grabbed his jacket. Thirty-seven minutes till the show, which would be spent calming down some of the newer and the always nervous members of the orchestra. Edwyn had been in the spotlight too many times to allow any one performance to bother him anymore. He'd performed for royalty and peasants alike, and he loved every minute of every performance.

When he walked into the room where some people were practicing, the group that was always nervous walked up to him straight away. They led him to the spot furthest away from the rest, where the newer members also had been awaiting his arrival. He instantly began to calm them down, his smooth voice hitting them like water, cleansing them of their fears. As usual, he practiced a few simple songs with them, even the newer ones knew them and joined in.
"Is anyone having any problems with any of the pieces?" he asked, his voice calm and a smile on his face. He didn't expect there to be any one, since there never was, but one, shy girl raised her hand. "Alright, we can go over it, all of us together." he suggested, and everyone nodded in support. The group who was always nervous and the newcomers were always so supportive of each other, even when Edwyn wasn't around, though it was because of his influence they were like that, he was told. The girl pointed out what it was and the group talked about it, giving her pointers, and not long after, she had it down-pat.

Then, it was showtime. They filed out as they wished each other luck into their seats, hidden by the curtain. Everyone, including Edwyn set up music in front of them. Even though Edwyn didn't need it, it made him fit in better. The conductor welcomed the audience, paying special attention to members of the audience who literally paid special support to the group, made a small speech and introduced the group, "Ladies and Gentleman, without further ado, I present the Grande Immortal Orchestra!" as the curtain withdrew revealing the rather dashing looking group, the conductor waved the baton and the group began to play the several pieces they had been practicing that week.

((Pardon me for not naming any specific pieces. n__n;; ))

||_HXC_|| 08-30-2009 03:20 AM

Alexandria found her way to her seat in the concert hall, hearing the normal sounds of few practicing behind the curtains. I do wonder how well they will be.Alexandria thought to herself. She was hoping this Orchestra was good- she had not preformed with one in almost a hundred years. Alexandria stared at the curtain getting lost in her own thoughts. She listened to music play in her head and smiled. How silly of a memory to remember now- her mother playing piano for her when she was a child.

Alexandria saw the curtain raise and listened to them begin to play. The Grande Immortal Orchestra- and oh how grande they were. The minute they began to play, they took her breath away. Especially the violinist in first chair, his playing was perfection. Alexandria closed her eyes and smiled listening to them create art. She had to sing with them she knew this from the bottom of her heart.In all her years of being a professional this would make her the most happy.

When the orchestra finished their pieces she stood up clapping in the front row. What a fool she must look like- but it did not matter to her. This orchestra had moved her so, just the music made her feel alive. She inwardly laughed at her own thoughts, knowing she had never been alive. Alexandria could not wait to meet the members of the orchestra and talk about possibly setting something up. That, in itself, would overjoy her.

Ananas à Pois 08-30-2009 07:56 PM

When they had finished performing, the group rose and took a bow. Whilest doing so, Edwyn looked over the crowd, many of them were on their feet giving them a standing ovation, but none so enthusiastic as one of the women in the first row. Edwyn could feel her emotions from where he stood- she had obviously been taken by how well they played, despite one or two mistakes he had heard throughout all of the pieces- once in the clarienet section having overblown the instrument, causing a horrid squeak where it shouldn't have gone that high, and yet seemingly unnoticeable to most... and another in the piccolos, where one of them hadn't blown the air upward properly, causing the note to become a low, disgusting sound.

The girl in the first row however, who seemed familiar to him for some reason, was quite amazing to Edwyn. How joyous she appeared over what they had just played. He even smiled, though he wasn't sure she would notice it was because of her. He wanted to meet her, someone so moved by music was of course worth meeting. Perhaps he would be able to find her in the reception room, where the members of the orchestra were supposed to mingle with some of the audience- particularly the ones who may hire them.

||_HXC_|| 08-30-2009 09:02 PM

Alexandria made her way to the reception hall where she would meet the orchestra. She wanted to meet every single one of them, but no more than she wanted to meet the violinist. His magnificent crimson eyes just added to the emotion he showed when playing his instrument. She gave a quick laugh and smiled at her small obsession.How silly of me to be thinking of just one performer when it takes every single one of them to make music that beautiful. Alexandria shook her head and rolled her eyes at herself.

Taking a glass filled with white wine from the reception table she sipped it lightly. While she could never get drunk due to the fact that she was a vampire; But, she never could stand the taste or even the strong aroma of alcohol of any kind. Alexandria stood away from everyone else in the center of the room mingling. She didn't hate people, she just didn't particularly like having to meet new ones day in and day out.

Ananas à Pois 08-30-2009 09:51 PM

Edwyn exited the stage with the rest of the members, after the curtain had closed. He still had that smile on his face, and people noticed, though the only ones who said anything were the ones in 'his group'. He just smiled at them and walked on, finding his case, which stood out from the rest, seeing as it was far, far older than the others. He could call it an antique, but that seemed like it would be an understatement. He had had that same violin and that same case since he was four years old.

One of the cellos from his group walked up to him, nervous of course, of having to meet all those people. He reassured her, "Just be yourself, be polite, and don't forget to smile." he smiled sweetly, demonstrating how it was done. She left her case in the practice room, where it would be safely locked away so no one could touch it. Edwyn still didn't trust leaving his violin there, so instead, he walked to his car and slipped in on the floor of the passanger side, where it was hidden, then locked his car and reentered the building, and walked straight into the reception hall.

He couldn't see the woman from the front row yet, so instead, he walked around, walking deeper into the crowd of people. Many people were trying to converse with Edwyn, and they were partially successful. Edwyn had a way with people. He could have the shortest conversation and talk his way out of it with such grace and ease, the person who was trying to chat him up were left with a smile on their face and not the slightest feeling of disappointment. He had to admit he was looking for the woman, but he was also doing what was expected of him at the same time.

Then he spotted her, drinking a glass of white wine on the other side of the room, about ten feet from where he stood. He was about to walk over and approach her, when he spotted one of the new girls in the string section having a bit of trouble with a few men who wouldn't seem to leave her alone. He couldn't just abandon her; he walked over to them and smiled, "Hello Courtney, who are your friends?" he asked her, looking the men in the eyes. His eyes were a dark crimson that night, they could be mistaken for brown, if one was trying to explain it away, but there was really no denying it. The guys didn't even think about trying to explain it away, they saw the red and backed up. "Sorry," one of them apologized, "we didn't know you were here with someone..." then they walked off.

Edwyn could have a threatening air about him, when he wanted to, but he was usually completely calm. He turned to Courtney and smiled, and as he was about to walk away, she grabbed his hand, "Thank you... Again." she smiled. It wasn't the first time he had gotten her out of a situation like that. Courtney was too beautiful, and too flirtatious, for her own good.
He smiled at her, "Again, it isn't a problem. Someone has to look out for you, kid." he winked at her, and she let go of his hand, rather reluctantly, he noticed. If she was starting to develop a thing for him, that would be a problem. He walked away, looking around the crowd. Before he approached The Woman from the Front Row, he should find something to say, or find out who she was, possibly, so he began to look for someone who he had seen speaking to her, if he could find one...

||_HXC_|| 08-30-2009 10:10 PM

Alexandria leaned against the wall nonchalantly as the orchestra began to flood into the reception hall. She kept her face blank as she looked into the flow, searching for only that one violinist. To much dismay he did not come in with the rest of the crowd.I wonder where he could of run off to.. Alexandria thought, ignoring the people around her trying to speak to her. She simply shrugged them all away, not even acknowlaging their existance.

She knew she was being cold and un-kind, but at this moment she only had one thing on her mind- the violinist with the dashing crimson eyes. She glanced about the crowd a few more times before her eyes landed on who she believed to be him. She saw him talk to a group of gentlemen and another orchestra member before staring strait at her. Alexandria looked away and flustered a bit before pushing up from the wall to talk to him. Grabbing another glass from the table, she made her way over to him. Noting a aura much different from all the rest surrounding him.

Alexandria stopped dead in front of him and held out the glass of wine, waiting for him to take it from her grasp. "That was a simply moving performance." Alexandria stated, smiling lightly to see what kind of reaction she would get out of him. "I have not heard a orchestra with music that moving in centuries." Alexandria's eyes widened slightly- not enough for any human to catch- at the statement she had just made. Less than five minutes and she practically just told this man she was a vampyre. Her own stupidity angered her slightly.

Ananas à Pois 08-30-2009 10:30 PM

He turned around, hearing someone coming straight for him, and he saw her. He smiled and took the glass from her, "Thank you. We were all very excited about this performance, so I believe some of us put in a little extra work to making it great." he smiled again, taking a small sip from the glass. He didn't need to drink, not your typical beverage, but he had trained himself not to gag when he ate or drank human's food. Years of practice had helped him not throw the glass across the room to get the strong scent from his nose. He trained himself well, and his natural poise and grace was predominant.

He raised one of his eyebrows slightly, "Centuries, is that so?" he smiled. She didn't know the meaning of what she just said. Something was different about her though, than all the others in the room, than anyone he had ever met. He decided to continue the conversation, holding his small, friendly smile, "I do believe I saw you in the audience, front row, actually, am I correct?"

||_HXC_|| 09-01-2009 02:06 AM

Alexandria smiled brightly. I do believe the extra work paid off wonderfully in the end. The performance was simply extraordinary. Alex took a small sip from her glass before finally deciding it was to much to pretend to like the vile drink anymore. She placed the glass quickly and silently on a passing tray shivering slightly at the alcohol. She decided right there that she would never again touch alcohol. Alexandria bet that if she had ever even been a human she would have hated the drink. She shook her head slightly, bringing her attention back t the conversation at hand.

Alexandria's eyes widened slightly when he noticed her slip of the tongue. 'Crap,' She mentally slapped herself. 'Watch what you say Alex, you don't want anyone suspecting you.' She nodded and blushed slightly."Yes. Indeed that was I in the front row. I was making such a silly sight of myself. Was I not?" Alexandria asked light hearted, laughing slightly.

Ananas à Pois 09-01-2009 02:19 AM

"Thank you, that means a lot coming from such an enthusist." he smiled at her. He watched her dispose of the glass, which still contained liquid, "Are you alright, miss?" He had never seen a human so readily dispose of liquor before, especially not at a party. Between the alcohol and the vibes that seemed different, she was definately strange. He was tempted to focus on reading her aura, when she responded to him again.

He smiled at her, even more sincerely than before, "I didn't think you were a fool. I was quite charmed and impressed by your reaction. I have never in all my years of playing seen anyone quite so thrilled with classical music, or sitting through watching an orchestra." It was true; most humans now-a-days were so uncultured, even when they thought they were the opposite. Most people that went to an opera or a concert with an orchestra were just there because they thought their boss was interested in it, or so they could pretend they were sophisticated. He never saw any where near the emotion in their eyes as he had in hers. A few moments later, he realized she hadn't acknowledged his notice of her choice of words. He didn't think it meant anything, but it was odd.

||_HXC_|| 09-01-2009 02:32 AM

"You are very welcome Sir." Alexandria smiled warmly at the violinist. "Huh..?" She asked stupidly before noticing he was talking about her wine. "Oh, that. Yes I am fine." She shook hear head lightly, as if that would get the alcohol off her tongue. "I just never acquired a taste for alcohol of any kind. Don't think I ever will either." She stated nonchalantly scrunching her nose lightly.

Alexandria laughed at his statement. "So thrilled?" She asked amused, a friendly light in her eyes. "I would not say thrilled so much as to say.. Well, I was brought up on anything and everything classical. Also, I do play a few instruments myself so I know how much dedication it takes one person just to play one instrument that well." She smiled lightly remembering the years upon years she used perfecting her talents. "So seeing a whole orchestra- and one that is so dedicated- just pulled at my heart strings. Also," She began rounding off her miniature speech. "Back when I was a child it was customary to learn classical. But, then again, it was all we had back then." She laughed lightly, thinking the young gentlemen did not catch on to her age joke.

Ananas à Pois 09-01-2009 02:41 AM

He smiled at her. At least there was something they had in common, "I have never been to partial to it myself, the scent is strong enough to ward me away, but I do it to keep up appearances." he admitted. Even a human could feel that way, so it wasn't giving away hs secret, AND it was being honest.

She didn't think he would catch that joke, but he did. Seeing as he was old enough himself to know what it was like, he completely understood what it was like having only classical... however, he thought she was only joking, and he couldn't just flat out ask if she was or not. "Oh? I never took you to be that old, miss..." he smiled at her, to show he was joking and meant nothing literal about the age bit. "I do know what you mean though. I was raised on classical as well. When something is so wonderfully played, you can feel the music, the emotion behind it..." he said, describing what he felt and hoping he wasn't too far off the mark. "What do you play, may I ask?"

||_HXC_|| 09-01-2009 02:57 AM

She smiled at him. How nice it was to know someone who thought the same as her about alcohol, that was a rarity to find, even amongst the older folk. Not that any of them even reached her age. "Appearances to fool who, may I ask?" She smiled, meaning nothing by it, but still wondering herself. She did sense something different about him, she was just having trouble placing what that something was.

She laughed openly and loud at his comment. Most would not know how funny it really was unless they knew exactly where she was coming from. "As they say, looks can be deceiving." She smiled to herself more so than to him. "In fact, I am much, much older than I look." She flipped her hair to fake the attitude of most girls that looked her age. "Ah, yes. I know exactly where you are coming from. I feel sometimes as if the music is going right through me and filling me up." She smiled warmly at the violinist. "Oh, me? Just the piano and guitar, I have always loved thoes two instruments." She smiled, thinking back to the last time her manager even allowed her to play.

Ananas à Pois 09-01-2009 03:25 AM

"In today's society, it's neccessary to drink at least a little bit, to make it seem like the guests aren't the only one getting hammered. I do believe that's the term; I don't really keep up with modern slang." he smiled a little, trying to make it seem like casual conversation, rather than one of his complaints upon modern society.

He smiled a bit, "Oh yes, I know they can be, but I still don't believe you're much older than you look. You can't be more than, well, I'd say your early twenties." If only she knew what she were saying... 'Then again, perhaps she did...' Edwyn began to think. He was finding it more and more difficult to believe that she could share his secret as well, the more the clues led to that.
His mouth opened slightly in disbelief, that someone else felt the same about music as he did. He had never seen that much pure emotion about music from anyone before, "Yes, that's exactly it..." he laughed a little. He nodded as he listened to her speak about the instruments she played, "Yes, those are two very nice choices for instruments." Those were two of the instruments he had learned to play as well, among some others.

Then, he added, "Beg your pardon, how rude of me, but I never got your name." He heldd out on of his hands to her, "I am Edwyn." he said simply. He avoided giving a last name where he could, due to the fact it only complicated things later on.

||_HXC_|| 09-06-2009 04:06 AM

"I do not keep up with it either. Modern slang I mean." Alexandria said, waving her hand in the air. "The English language was butchered enough 100 years ago. It is- in my opinion- almost sickening now." She grimiced a little shaking her head and how utterly sad society was now.

Alexandria laughed to herself. "Early twenties with what race." She mumbled to herself, knowing she was that times almost sixteen. Although, she highly doubted this young gentlemen to understand that.
She smiled as he agreed that she had hit the nail on the head about how they both felt about music. "Thank you. I do know how to play bits of other instruments; But I have been learning these since I was a toddler," She smiled to herself, 'centuries ago to be exact'.

She laughed openly. "I forgot as well, so I suppose we both must be rude." She smiled and took his hand gingerly. "I am Alexandria Raven Reisinger." She did not mind giving her whole name. No human knows about vampyres and especially ones with family high on the council so she always gave out her full name. 'I also like the way it sounds' she thought, smiling to herself.

Ananas à Pois 09-06-2009 05:59 PM

Edwyn smiled in agreement, "Oh yes, I do believe you are right and share your opinion." he said, noddng slightly, "Butchered indeed." It was so rare to find someone on equal footing with Edwyn.. And there it was again- the slip of tongue referring to the difference in centuries.

He hears her mumble and couldn't ignore it any longer, truth must out. He leaned closer to her, so that only she would hear, "Depends, what races would you want me to consider? Human... Lycan, Vampyre?" his voice was acusing and low, but still it remained un-threatening, and he smiled to show he meant no harm at all. He was almost certain of it now. There was no way she couldn't be. He continued his responses to the conversation, in the same tone he'd used to acuse her, "I am Edwyn, Rozenas, no middle name. Or at least, that was my name many years ago."

||_HXC_|| 09-07-2009 12:14 AM

Alexandria's eyes widened in much surprise. "You are as well?" She hissed lowly, amazed that she would find one of her own this easily without even trying to. "I knew you were.. different. Like me I mean." She corrected herself. "No one.. no human can play any instrument that perfectly." She said everything every quickly and barely above a whisper.
"Rozenas?" She asked putting a hand over her mouth. "Are you serious? Everyone in council thought the Rozanas died off a century ago." She really couldn't believe it now. Not only was he Vampyre but a Rozenas too, this night was just too crazy.

"I do believe we should continue this more.. privately." She said looking around and noting she wasn't getting an off vibe from anyone else. "I believe it would be nicer to be able to talk more freely, do you not?" She asked politely, smiling as other people passed her.

Ananas à Pois 09-07-2009 10:22 PM

Edwyn nodded with a smile to the first question, "I am indeed." When he smiled. a small bit of his fangs showed, since they were hidden among humans and extended when he fed. He laughed a little. "Well, I hope my race doesn't change your mind about how brilliant a musician I am seeing as I've had many many years to practice, or about the orchestra. I am the only one here of our kind." he said with a smile. It was rare indeed to find another vampire now-a-days. He smiled, "The Council was meant to believe that, but it is simply not true."

He looked around, "I think that would be quite appropriate, but I'm not sure disappearing now is a good idea. Since I was late to the party, my manager would not be very happy if I were to leave early as well. Would you like to meet after the party?"

||_HXC_|| 09-08-2009 01:17 AM

Alexandria couldn't help but grin as wide as she could, showing off her fangs completely. She laughed with him, feeling wonderful. "Of course it does not. Vampyre or not it still take much practice to learn and perfect an instrument to a certain extent. Also, the orchestra is amazing. End of that story, I loved the performance." She smiled genuinely at him.
"Why were they meant to believe something as horrible as that? The story of what happens still makes shutter." She said closing her eyes.

"Oh. Well yes, after seems good. Would you happen to have a more private place in mind? I do not get out much so the only private place I know of is my own abode." She smiled, thinking how nice it would be to be at home. Curled up by the fireplace with a nice cup of O neg.

Ananas à Pois 09-08-2009 04:17 PM

He nodded and smiled, "Indeed it does." he laughed again. It was interesting to him her fangs showed completely without feeding. He would have to inquire about that later. Then she continued about the Council believing the Rozenas family died out, "I'm afraid I do not know the story... You will have to fill me in later, but not here." he said, confused. He knew there was a cover story to lead everyone to believe that everyone had died, and he knew it was not far from the truth, probably, knowing his family... But for it to sound that horrible? He was unsure of what she meant.

"Well," he began, "If you're more comfortable there, we could go there. Otherwise, there is my residence, or a small cafe I know about, where they know me well enough to leave me alone." he smiled, chuckling a little. It wasn't as though he was rude or anything to the people at the cafe that made them avoid Edwyn, but rather that they knew he liked his privacy and respected that.

||_HXC_|| 09-09-2009 03:19 AM

Alexandria laughed with him, it had been a long time since she had gotten along with someone so easily- too long. "Okay I will. But, I am suprised they never told thoes who were part of the story what they told everyone else." She shrugged nonchalantly and looked around at all the people mingling. 'I wonder what it must be like to be human..' She thought to herself randomly.

"I do know it is.. what do they call it.. sleazy?- To invite someone over after just meeting them. But I do know for a fact that my 'small' abode is the most private place around here. Or anywhere else I have been for that matter." She smiled back at him, not entirely knowing what exactaly he was smiling about.

Ananas à Pois 09-10-2009 03:25 PM

He smiled, "Well, the patriarchs in each little family under the Rozenas name came up with the story. I never had a chance to ask my father what it was... Though, that was a long time ago, ancient history, nearly literally. I think it's time the Rozenases made come back." he smiled wider, the tips of his fangs showing again.

Edwyn laughed a little, the music of it catching the eyes of two young women who were passing the pair of vampires, "I wouldn't call you sleazy. Especially not under present circumstances. Besides, we're not nearly in the same category as the.. others, who have different intentions for inviting another over as such." Humans were such lustful creatures, always looking for that 'next score'- although, some of them still had a slight amount of class in that sense, they were just few and far between.
