Mari had nodded at the price and pulled out two dollar bills, handing them to the woman. After whispering to keep the change, she shoved the wallet into the front pocket of the hoodie. It was warm in the cafe but she couldn't help but shake. When the woman had asked her name she was about to respond when another woman had come. Alex. She had met her before, and now approached the two. Apparently this woman hadn't worked here, but helped her out anyways. She thanked her in her mind, and smiled on the inside. As Alex addressed the two, she noted the other woman's name. Cindy. "N-No thank you, Alex." She had forced a small smile upon her chapped lips. [ Sorry. D; I'm so out of it. Wish this nausea would go away. ] |
Cindy looked back at Mari, she seemed to have calmed slightly. "So how are you today?" She asked Mari
((I cant remember if we had a coversation or not....I think Vanna spoke with Mari before....o.o )) Vanna loved looking outside, and being out there. She decided while Cindy was pre-occupado she would get a coffee from Alex at the counter and sneak outside. |
"Thanks for holding down the fort Cindy and are you sure Mari cause other wise they'll just go to wast Richard has to make a new batch of some stuff so I'm trying to think of how to get rid of the old stuff."Alex said with a smile and a nod here and there

As if summoned by her name, Cookie appears. "Now why would I be killing you? You haven't been doing something you haven't have you? It's not good business to kill my best customers but...there's always muffins," she says threateningly.

Richard entered the shop at the precise moment Cookie had mentioned "killing", "best customer", and "muffin" in the same sentence. "Cookie I do believe muffins are a little old fashioned for a murder weapon," Richard said as he went to grab his apron from the back. He then walked over to Cindy and gave her a kiss. "Good morning," he told her.
He turned back to Cookie and smiled, "I believe apples are much better." He pulled a fresh apple out of his pocket. |
Cookie crosses her arms. "Oh please. Apples are soooooo last century. Snow White and all that. Everyone knows about poisoned apples or watching out for razorblades in apples. Muffins are such a comforting food. You let your guard down around muffins. And then before you know it, you're dead!" She grins

"Well then how about cupcakes?" Richard said. "They're more sweet and no expects a cupcake to have something wrong with it. Besides cupcakes are much easier to bake. With muffins you can get all kinds of mistakes."

"Cupcakes are not easier. Then you have to sit around and frost them all. It's a pain! At least with muffins, you just bake them and go. That's why they fall under quick breads. They're quick. And easy. And delicious." She nods decisively. As much as she likes a good cupcake, she can be lazy >_>

"Yeah but you can poison the cucake and the frosting so you have a sure to kill item then."alex said with a nod

Cookie rolls her eyes. "If you have to poison them twice, you're obviously doing it wrong. Besides, frosting is a very delicate thing. It's only butter, sugar and flavoring. It doesn't carry poisons very well. It's very obvious that there's something wrong with poisoned frosting."

Devlin walked in, albeit a bit groggy. He ran a hand through his dark hair, primed and conditioned for the day. It was rather chilly nowadays, so he'd been walking around with a designer jacket and scarf (Isabella's picks, that's for sure). Not that he didn't look great in it, but it wasn't his style of clothing. He'd been looking forward to the new selection being added onto the menu. Apparently there were a couple more pages being added besides the vegetarian stuff. He figured Isabella and Yosuke would have a heck of a time reorganizing the menu. It had been getting cluttered up lately. Isabella followed closely behind, bundled up in almost a matching jacket & scarf pairing. Her style was the same as her boyfriend's (of course, she picked out Dev's clothing for the day), though she added a few touches of accessories. Shivering, she quickly fled into the warmth of the cafe. Immediately she noticed everyone got there before she did and shook her head. 'Another day in the Cafe, and it's never a dull moment,' she thought to herself. Inside, she hung up her coat and still wore her scarf around her neck, though quite loosely. "Morning, Cookie. I heard we were gonna get another shipment of menus, so I'm gonna take to organizing them today, 'kay?" ((Introducing my new character, Clifford Davenport! She said to Richard and returned his kiss. "I agree with you on the apples" Cindy spoke into Richard's ear hopefully quietly enough so Cookie couldn't hear. Vanna stared into the clouds with a smile on her face, fading into the cafe because it had gotten too cold for her. |

OMG...with all the stuff I add to the menu, I seriously need to start rotating things. Or figure out how to reduce all the space that's making the damn thing lengthy. *hint hint*)) Isabella looked up. "Who's talking about death from le petit mort?" she asked, blushing, knowing full well what it was. She had opened a rather large mail package from the printer's that contained the new menu items. "Oh, wow Dev, you're definitely gonna be into this," she said, smiling and pulling him over. Devlin looked over the long list of drinks. "Heck yeah, baby!" he exclaimed, taking a copy of the new page from her. "Now I can start mixing some...hey what the? There's no cocktail drinks up here! I thought we were gettin' a new bar?" He didn't go to bartending school for nothing. "It's a large selection of bubble tea, that's for sure," he added. "At least now everyone knows what kind of boba drinks we serve," Isabella replied, using the Asian-person version of saying it. Bubble tea was just weird to her. "No, but look we have a good listing of iced coffee blends. Kinda late though, considering it's been getting colder lately," she joked. He looked again. "Oh, dude, Rich is gonna have some more stuff to serve, too! You in the mood for a tuna sandwich?" he asked, pointing to the item in question. "Looks like it's more than one page of new stuff, huh?" Isabella just smiled and shook her head. The front door of the cafe was opened, and the bell chimed as it was shifted. A tall, brunette male enters and he looks around. His shoulders are slumped, and his posture is very introverted. Carrying a messenger bag filled with his schoolwork and such, he chose one of the small booth seats near the window to sit at. After all, a cafe was the "it" place for a college student to study, and he wouldn't be adverse to it, either. This place was a little far from his dorm and college, but all the better, since it was less likely someone would find him here. |
Alex waved to Isabella and Dev as she aproched the counter."So are those the new menus."She asked. As she asked thius the frontdoor opened to reveil not one of the regulars but a new face. And since Alex was the bubble welcoming wagon somewhat she grabed a menu and strolled over to the booth the new comer settled at. She placed a menu down in front of him while also checking him out. He looked to be about her age and to be in college by the looks of his slumped shoulders and large messenger bag."Hi I'm Alex and I will be your server today."She said with a smile.
