heheh ok thankz thankz... im kinda new here.... and me wants to learn nihonggo :)

Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa 03-11-2011 02:45 PM

Welcome. :D
Why are you interested in learning Japanese? :D

Do you know any hiragana, katakana, or kanji?

Ferra 03-12-2011 02:37 PM

I live pretty near the epicenter of the quake. :( I just got back my electricity and internet now. Hopefully everyone else who posted that they live in Japan is also doing safe. Take care everyone! 気をつけて!

Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa 03-12-2011 03:06 PM

Stay safe Ferra! D:

Iku- そうですね。 やっぱり、今大変ですが、未来がいいですね。
pancit: Hi, and ya, welcome ^-^ ..Just wanted to make sure you know how to get back here.

Ferra- Oh no! That's terrible. I am glad that you are safe though. please stay that way and take good care of your family :o
I am trying to contact my relatives in Japan but it has been very difficult to get through at all. I will try again soon but I was wondering if you knew what would be the best way to.
I have american e-mail address, as well as a Japanese one.
I have access to a landline and cell phone. I have purchased a calling card for international calls.
I have the address and landline phone number of a few of my relatives, meaning, one address and one phone number that is for 3-5 of them, depending on if 2 of my aunts are still living with my other aunt/uncle/cousin.
I have the cell phone number and e-mail of one of my cousins, but have never gotten a response when I tried to contact her.

Thanks a lot if you can give me an answer. And if not, well dw about it. Just focus on staying safe :o

Ferra 03-12-2011 10:43 PM

Poet: Well if you need info about their condition, Google set up a find-a-person system that might help you: 2011 Japanese Earthquake and Tsunami

If they have had their electricity restored, a land-line would probably be your best bet. The cell phone service has been sketchy for me, but now that I have electricity I've managed to make calls using Google voice to contact people back home and send out emails/post on Facebook. Send a few emails to their different accounts with info on how to contact you, that's probably your best bet since it might be a while before they get the message. If they need to call someone in the US, they can do it for free using Google voice via a gmail account. (They'd need a computer with a mic, though.)

The Wandering Poet 03-13-2011 07:33 AM

Strange_dreams_512 says through Poet:

Ferra- kay, thanks for letting me know so. Apparently no one had listed my family, so I put one member in the system and will try in the future to contact by land-line. I have over a dozen family members in between Sendai and Tokyo, so it's worry-some to say the least. I only know one family member's e-mail address, but yes, I will try. Thank you for that information. I wish you the very best and hope that this trauma in Japan discontinues.

Edit: I sent an e-mail just now to my cousin, and a moment later got this back.

Hello everyone! Sorry for being away so long! ひさしぶりね!

The last two days were just horrible, because of the things happening in Japan. I was worried, because some friends of us are living in Tokyo, but it seams that everyone is okay. Some of those who are from Vienna and just staying there until september went to Kyoto today. Most people from here are telling them to come back home. I don't know what I would do if I was there... *sigh*

Friends from another forum even have family in Sendai and haven't heard from them until now. That's horrible. I just hope that they are okay...

I'd like to add you, if you don't mind. o 3o

Just search for YukinoNyanko and you will find me. I really don't mind, I just don't have much stuff uploaded. I still hadn't enough motivation to draw something new, I didn't even finish the drawing I started some time ago... x_x

@黒
Yes, I always thought I will have a good time at this kind of school, because I can create interesting fashion. But no one really cared if it was a simple skirt or a skirt with layers and quillings (hope this is the right word ^^").
Last week I looked my old drawing from school up and I was surprised that I never stopped drawing creative clothes. I found pictures with blazers and skirts and though it was all about the blazer, I made some nice skirts for them. But in the end - why not? Isn't that the funniest part about it? xD"
I have some ideas in mind what I could draw. But I'm too nervous to start, because I still don't know how to go on with the pencil-sketch. Do I make outlines with fineliner and color with copics or better scan the sketch and make the outlines and coloration on the computer? And I'm not good with either of them... x_x
Lol, I guess I spend enough time in english forums to write an ok-english, but when it comes to speaking... uh, that sucks! xDD
I just can't sing fast songs. I have a hard time controlling my voice and so slow songs fit me better. Though I would like to sing some songs of HIM, but how can I get such a voice without starting smoking? xDDD

だから、私はパーティをしないつもりだ。難しすぎる。。。 =(
よかった。ちょっと心配した。。。
Our Japanese friend said yesterday that she thinks our speaking got better. But she's just so nice, I don't think that's ture. =P
I often start saying something and have to stop then, because I don't know how to say something. I keep forgetting how things worked. For example yesterday I wanted to say that something is better... and I forgot the のほうがいい-form... u_u
Thank you! That's really nice. But I have still so much to learn. In my master I have to go to english speaking courses with english discussions and stuff... I'm already afraid of that... And with my Japanese it's even worse... xD"

@Ferra
Omg, I hope that everything will be okay where you live. Maybe you should think about taking a train to the south? I mean because of the thing with the nuclear power plant..? o.o
気をつけて!!

@Strange
Omg, you must be very worried. I hope everyone of your family is okay and that you can get in contact with them soon! =(
I can't help you with the mail, it sounds weird. Maybe you can ask someone from the service-team? I think they google-people-finder-page should also have service, huh? o.o
Good Luck for finding your family!

Omg, that's all so horrible. I'm still worried because of the nuclear power plants...

Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa 03-13-2011 02:50 PM

@Strange: Getting mail back from mailer-daemon usually means the message wasn't delivered. There are a number of reasons why, but usually they tell you.
Sometimes a system will reject an email if the attachments are too large, but I'm assuming you didn't attach anything. In that case, it's probably just junk that was generated when the email couldn't get delivered. I wouldn't worry about them in any case.

@Aylin: I added you. I'm just trying to be more active there is all. -nod-

Aylin 03-13-2011 10:00 PM

@Iku
Great, I added you too! And that's just what I do: trying to be more active. I mean I just joined, but I want to draw something new. So that I can upload something which isn't already old... ^^"

Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa 03-13-2011 10:40 PM

I joined a long time ago, but just.. I don't know.. I didn't ever thing my stuff was good enough; so I've only just now (over 6 months or something?) started posting stuff on there. :P
I just try and comment on other people's art and whatnot. -nod-

Ferra 03-14-2011 01:15 AM

@Aylin: Sendai is north of Fukushima, so that would actually put my closer to the danger. :sweat: For now, I'm going to stay put since my apartment is safe and I have a job to do when my school reopens.

The Wandering Poet 03-14-2011 01:34 AM

Hahaha, I was playing a game and a guy was ksing (I told him so) and he said "Baka ningen", I replied in Japanese a few times (with no reply) and he ran away :lol:

Priceless... love when people try to act Japanese and get caught

Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa 03-14-2011 01:42 AM

What game were you playing?

Lawl, I like to act Japanese sometimes. xD

That doesn't mean he was acting Japanese though.. Maybe he's learning it like I am. I sometimes try to speak it and then when it gets too complicated, I have to revert back to English. =\
Besides, what if he had said something in English and you replied back and then he left.. Does that mean he was pretending to speak English?

Gah. Sorry for all that. XD I just don't like to see things one-sided like that. @[email protected]

Watashi wa okotte iru!>:D

The Wandering Poet 03-14-2011 03:05 AM

Playing Dragon Saga... pretty fun game =)

Well if he was practicing he wouldn't have run away when I talked to him XD I'd think it was him trying to learn otherwise maybe XD
Just... running normally shows a bit of a sign that they were caught doing something XD cause this has happened before... otherwise they would probably try to talk to me instead of calling me stupid and running?

@Water - こんばんはワッタ-さん、おげんきですか?
Can you read Hiragana? =) (I don't know much Japanese, but I know hiragana and katakana as well as the basics of Japanese conversation. (May not seem that way when my fiancee posts through me though)

Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa 03-14-2011 10:19 AM

Oh yeah. That's the cute game where you guys had the wedding right? :O

-shrugs- I've had the same reaction though. Maybe not the calling you stupid and running away part, but generally just leaving.
Mostly because not every person who speaks more Japanese wants to teach it. XD!
But if he was ksing, he was a bad cookie anyway.

The Wandering Poet 03-14-2011 11:19 PM

:lol: Yeah strange told you about that?

Yeah... ksers are in force these past few days D: so it's a little annoying

Aylin 03-15-2011 12:41 AM

@Iku
I thought I'll just upload my old stuff so that I have at least something in my gallery... xD"
But I enjoy searching for pretty art and put them in my favorites. <3

May I ask what item the speech-bubble is your avatar has on? I don't think I have seen that before... o.o

@Ferra
Ah, right, I always get confused with the locations of Sendai and Fukushima... ^^"
It's still pretty near to Fukushima, huh? But at least the wind shouldn't turn to north, right? o.o

@Poet
Haha, that sounds funny! xDD

Though, I honestly don't know what's meant with ksing... *feels stupid* x_x
But I also don't know Dragon Saga... have to google it... xD"

*loves Poets avatar* <3

Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa 03-15-2011 01:51 AM

@Poet: Sort of. She had pictures posted on her Facebook from it. :)
I haven't played any games lately because of homework, but I have noticed many ksers in the games I do play.

@Aylin: Haha yeah.. I do the same thing. Yess. I love DA mostly because of the talented artists. 8]
It's a July 2010 CI called Retrobot. Here's a link to it:

The Wandering Poet 03-15-2011 07:26 AM

Aylin - KSing means Kill Stealing... which is basically killing something someone else was fighting and stealing the loot...

@ Iku - What games do you normally play when you don't?

Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa 03-15-2011 10:39 AM

Whoops, I meant I don't notice many ksers. XD Ragnarok was about the only one where ksers were really an issue. But I don't play that much anymore. =\
Aion and LaTale don't have many really, but I haven't noticed many people in the same areas as us either. xD
I was going to pay for some game time for Aion, but I think I need to save the money now. @[email protected]
