I think you meant "kamoku" instead of "komaku" (which sounds like "comic"). Bijutsu is correct. :)

Hmm, well it's totally up to you. But personally, I think if you're interested in furthering your skill with the language, it would really help to be able to practice your skill by having that available to you. If you would prefer to keep it in romaji, that is your decision, although for me to choose, my personal suggestion is that you install it. It's fairly easy, but as I said, up to you.

Hai can also mean "uh-huh" as in you are letting someone know you are listening.
And Iie is really only used in questions that you can reply yes/no to.
But overall, the two are really useful to know, as I'm sure you realize ^_^

Here is what I have to say about the answer.
This sentence uses 2 nouns, 2 particles, and one verb. Naturally, with that in mind, the first instinct on how to arrange them would be as such:

noun (particle) noun (particle) verb
_______ de ________ wo kakimasu.

What do we know about the sentence as is?

De (で) is a tool particle, that is commonly translated as "by means of". You may also think of it as a place of action.
Penで - by means of a pen, using a pen (as a tool)
Chopsticksで - by means of chopsticks, using chopsticks (as a tool)

Or use it as a place of action...
Houseで I studied. - At the house, I studied. The house is a place of action.
Parkで we went on a walk. - At the park, we went on a walk/We went on a walk at the park. Once again, で can signify a place of action.

But what about the first usage.... as a tool particle?
Recall...
What are you using the pen for? It is a tool for doing something.

Is it Penで picking a lock?
Penで scraping off dirt?
Or maybe Penで drawing a picture?

Since "Pen" is the tool to draw a picture, the particle で stays with "Pen". It is still "Penで".

And maybe you have heard of the particle wo (を) before.
Wo (を) is the action particle. [You may also see it as "o". Both are correct, but be sure not to type it as "o" in hiragana or it will come out as お.]

You can use it to describe any action that is happening, and will always include a verb unless the verb is easy to assume.
Examples:
Opiza wo tabemasu. [I eat pizza.]
Origami wo tsukurimasu. [I make origami.]
E wo kakimasu. [I draw picture(s).]

Don't be afraid to put them together!
If I give you the sentence ペン(Pen)でえをかきます.... you can give me....

Ah, I think you're confusing particles with verb conjugation. The て-form of verbs is very different from the で particle.

As for -masu, it is the standard polite ending for present tense verbs. So tabemasu (食べます) is a good example. However, tabemono (食べ物) is a noun so it is not a verb conjugation of taberu (食べる) at all. Instead, it literally means "things you eat", i.e. food.

Well I'm happy to help with the basics, but my Japanese is intermediate really, so I wouldn't say I'm qualified to answer complex questions. I'm just happy that after a year in Japan I now have a group of Japanese friends that I can send messages to and meet with. I think I'll improve much more now that I won't be socializing mostly with fellow English speakers. :)
