Hi, KaYe-RoCkZ! As this thread is more suited to the anime/manga forum, I'm going to move it on over there. :)
Please be mindful of which forum you're posting in and try to find a suitable forum for the topic you have in mind before posting it.

I thought there was already a thread dedicated to Miyazaki? Either way Spirited Away is a great movie. It's like... Through the Looking Glass in a way, or maybe more like Oz with the scary witch. XD Those kinds of mind trippy ones are always fun and leave you wondering if it was all in her head or not. Except there are hints at the end that it wasn't.

SPOILERX

The tall grasses and her scrunchy.

Spirited Away was awesome. Usually it was aired every year just before school started and this year Cartoon Network didn't do it. It kind of sucked. Ha.
I want to see Ponyo though.

Tounin 09-06-2009 12:39 AM

Spirited Away was really good, but I like Princess Mononoke more.

~AmayaxKiyomori~ 09-06-2009 11:31 PM

I really liked Spirited Away :D It's my favorite Miyazaki movie, folowed closely by Howl's Moving Castle and Princess Mononoke.

I love stories where the main chacter is really shy/timid in the beginning, then by the end they're full of courage and confidence, and have changed for the better :D

I like spirited away and I stop doing everything to listen to the song from spirited away.

Just got a Spirited Away sleeve done in Tokyo this summer. Obviously I loved this movie a lot! The tattoo came out beautifully, and now I have a lovely reminder of the beautiful story! I think Haku is incredibly gorgeous! I love mysterious and stoic men....

Kilene 10-27-2009 02:45 AM

I love watching Spirited Away. I remember seeing this movie on tv and wondered what it was. So, I watched it and I was instantly engrossed in it. I loved how beautiful the artwork was. It was just amazing. I do have to agree though that Haku is very gorgeous. I have it on DVD and I watch it whenever I get the chance. I recommended this movie to a friend of mine cause she wanted to watch an animated movie and I told her about Spirited Away and now she is hooked on it as well.

InevitableDisaster 10-27-2009 05:03 AM

I haven't seen Spirited Away in a long time, but it's one of my favorite movies.
I can't really remember the characters or anything like that, but I remember the story line really well.
I really want to get it on DVD so I can watch it again.

The movie is really cute. I like that it was based off of a bathhouse Miyazaki remembered from his childhood. On a personal note the regein of Japan it is said to be based is where my brother is now living on the island of Shikiku.

Belle Lune 10-28-2009 01:56 AM

I like how the story line flowed. C'était Beau.

Paper Face Parade 11-02-2009 08:43 PM

I love Sprited Away. It is my first movie by Hayao Miyazaki I saw. I love all his movies. Personally Howl's Moving Castle is my favorite, though, the book was better, but that's getting off topic. :(

Linnea 11-04-2009 05:06 AM

'spirited away' was the first movie that made me want to see more of that kind of animation and anime... it was all downhill from there lol... it is tied for first in my heart with 'howl's moving castle' (which i agree with Paper Face Parade that the book was better)...
i loved how chihiro supposedly stunk and no one wanted to be near her when she first got to the bath house... poor girl, labeled the 'stinky kid' right away lol

Morana Ryuu 11-04-2009 10:56 AM

I love all of his Miyazaki's work, just some of them had me wondering if there was going to be a sequeal or something. I'm waiting for the one he just came out with to sell on DVD 'cause that one just looks amazingly cute, then again, I'm trying to get my girls to forget about the things they normaly try to get me and just get me all his movies lol

ButterflyDemise 03-13-2010 02:12 AM

I enjoyed it~ I remember when it came to the US and showed in theaters. I begged my mother to take me. She didn't enjoy it all that much, but that was okay because me and my little sister had fun. I even bought the movie the moment it came out (well.. my mother did for me, haha).

x_Temev Leapthief 03-14-2010 10:09 AM

I remember the day I got Spirited Away on DVD. It was Easter, and it was the right after it came out on DVD. I had seen commercials for it before, and it looked kind of freaky to me o_o But then again, I was young. I watched it as soon as I got it, and I fell in love with it. It is sooo deep! Haku is definitely not like other characters in Hayao Miyazaki's movies. I also thought the plot was really amazing. One of my favourite movies ever! =)

The Roze 05-12-2010 01:01 PM

Spirited Away was what introduced me to anime. I thought it sooo amazing! I watched it for the first time years and years ago when I was quite young and I still love rewatching it!

sailor star rainbow 05-13-2010 08:20 PM
