"Hullo Kesiko." Sy smiled.
I rubbed my head against Sy's arm and meowed. Looking up at her I meowed again. 'That's right, because I can't talk to people is why I don't usually hang out in this form.' I did a mental sigh at my own thoughts.
Sy started to pet the girl's cat form. "I hope you don't mind." she smiled. "I'm sorry love, in this form I can't understand you. And I'm in no mood for the ache of shape-shifting tonight." She hoped the girl could understand her.
I purred as she pet me and jumped up to her shoulders, hoping I wasn't too heavy, and laid across them like a scarf. Rubbing my head against her cheek I continued to purr.
Sy laughed. "Comfy are ya?" She continued to pet Kiseko, while walking around the Inn, to check the flowers.
'If cats could smile' I thought, just continuing to purr. My tail swished back and forth slowly, until its fur got caught on some of the flowers. I meowed, annoyed.
Sy glanced over. "aw. Here, stop swishing your tail for a second and let me help." She rolled her eyes, and slowly and carefully untangled the flower stems from her fur. She looked at the flower. "Well Kiseko, you picked a good flower to get stuck on. This is a 'Bird of Paradise', it stands for magnificence."
I glared at the flower and carefully wrapped my tail around my perch's arm so it wouldn't get caught on another. 'Magnificence?' I thought, meowing a confused meow, 'I don't see how any flower is good to get caught on.'
"It suits you rather well.. They say that a Flower will choose you and shape your personality." She smiled at her passenger. "Well, I at least think your rather magnificent."
I tilted my head a bit and stared at her, purring again since I wasn't agitated anymore.
She giggled, and gently lifted Kiseko off her shoulders so she could carry her. Sy sat in one of the big chairs by the fireplace, and put her on her lap, for petting. "This is how the Inn used to be. A few usual patrons. Some that rarely left their rooms. But we're a family. Thats what this was all about"
Unconsciously I kneaded my paws, staring into the fire and listening to Sy. It was odd not wondering where I should sleep next.
naida felt comfort here and smiled when sy said they were a family. she didn't even have one unless you counted mother earth and father sky but thats about it.
Sy smiled down at Kiseko. Her eyes wandered around the Inn and stopped at every person in the lobby. She emitted a happy sigh. "I think... I think it's time for a new picture." Sy put Kiseko on the seat cushion, as she got up and took the picture off from over the fireplace. Running quickly to her room with it, she came back with a easle and some charcoal, to sketch her friends and family with, before she painted it.
I moved, jumping to the backside of Sy's seat, and contently watched her sketch.
Sy began with gentle placements. Herself behind the bar. Talris sitting at the bar. Anora by the piano with Kurio. Blitz and Tolkan dancing near the piano. Kliff and Zake by the fireplace. Tabbitha sitting on the steps with Kiseko and Naida nearby. Caleb sitting at a table close to everyone. "Whatcha think so far?" Sy tilted the canvas for Kiseko to see. "Anything I should change before I draw some of the others?
Putting my front paws on her shoulder I rubbed my head against her cheek and purred.
Sybella laughed. "I'm going to assume you like it." She started sketching out some of the other patrons.
Moving back to my perch, I laid across the back in a position where I could watch over her shoulder. I couldn't draw so watching others was fascinating.
Caleb walked out of the kitchen and saw the beggining of Syr's sketch. He was in it? Why? He walked over quietly to watch the sketch become more detailed. It was quiet amazing, she was very talented. Hoever as she drew he said nothing, waiting until the masterpeice was done to say words of awe. |
I jumped onto Caleb's shoulders, laying there like I did on Sy's shoulders, rubbed my head against his cheek and purred.
Caleb turned his head to the cat and softly pet it between the ears with his free hand. "Are you in the pictue little one?" He whispered trying not to break the concentration of the artist. |
I meowed and flicked my tail in the direction of myself in the sketch.
Sy smiled at Caleb and Kiseko. "I'm afraid I'm not very talented. But it's a passion I try to be better at." She returned to drawing. When the outline was finished, she pulled out her paints, and began to colour the piece.
Caleb smirked softly at the cat and nodded. "I see, changed back have we?" His golden eyes glowed, and looked down at Sy. "Though modesty is a lovely trait, when someone compliments you, its rude not to accept." He said this with a smiled, so she knew he was playing an not seriously calling her rude. |
