AION
My dad played the Aion beta all last week. For those that don't know about Aion, it's the game that was supposed to bring down World Of Warcraft. Link *here*
The graphics are AMAZING. 9/10 for sure. The game play is. . a little less than what was expected. You fight one mob, get down to 20% health, then you have to sit & regenerate your health. It's all good, but time consuming. I played a templar and a gladiator (both spawns of the warrior class) and I had ALOT of downtime. The hunter class is going to be the one that least people play. You have to kite. . every mob. . every time. . Great for pvp, i guess. Ok for raids @ endgame, i guess. . But not great for leveling. The main thing is that this game is supposed to be harder than WoW. It is, but someone would have too hard of a time leveling a hunter. I didn't bother playing a mage nor the priest one, because, well, i have clothies. :( but i'd imagine it'd be hard to level because of house much damage youre taking. All in all, WoWers do not have to worry. This game does not put an end to WoW like it was expected. This game is less than WoW but much better than runescape. I'd rate it a 6/10. I'd like to hear your thoughts on the game, if you played beta/saw some advertisements/watched someone play it. :) -dlo |
So my husband just bought Aion, and while he's installing it I thought I would see if there are any opinions on the game from those who may have started playing it already..
So far all I know is that you play one of two Winged Races, with limited flying... so... info? His game is now installed.... but I only get to see bits and pieces. Tell me about it? |

I adore it! you can customize everything about it! from the facial features to the voice! basically, you're right there are two winged races, but you only get the wings at lvl 10 First, there is four classes you can choose from mage scout warrior....and something else xD and I THINK at lvl ten you get to choose a class within those classes, such as if you're a mage you can choose to be a sorcerer[or it's called a chanter] or a spirit master a spirit master gets pets and such and a chanter gets direct spells and such Basically you go around doing quests [such as side-quests(which are a must) and storyline quests] Thats All I can really think of and know right now....if you want to know anything else just message me ^^ |

Me and my boyfriend actually play it :) He has alot of free time atm and wanted to get into a decent MMORPG seeing how the last one he was on (conquor online) has gone to the crapper >.< And also the joy's of working at a game store means i get discounts on the game and time cards xD woo!
I love the graphics too! ^^ they are really great - and the customization for your character is great ^^ I'm Namine (mage) and Demyx (ranger, to be archer) on the oceania server, not that i think any of you are on that one xD We've barely had any downtime or any problems with the server, i guess you might just be on one of the more popular ones >.< But hey, its just starting up so i give them a few months buffer to fix up bugs and server issues - no game like this is 100% perfect off the shelve Don't complain about how hard/easy the game it depending on the class your using, accept the challenge and work for those levels :P Im sick of seeing people complain about how hard the game is, makes me want to smack people over the head with a rolled up newspaper >.>; Go for something easy then like a mage (love my mage, seriously i could kill worg's in 3 hits at level 6) or learn to kite properly xD Maybe i just enjoy grinding too much or have the attention span to stand it for long periods of time >.> |
I quite enjoy it.
I'd play it more, if I wasn't currently having to adjust to my heavy school load. But it is a beautiful game. I've played it since one of the first beta events, and since I bought the collector's edition then I could get into any of the events after that. Only, I ordered my collector's edition from NCsoft, and even though the game was released nearly two weeks ago, I still haven't gotten my box. >.> I'm going to have to contact them and complain. Sure, I can get into the game and all, but I still want my stuff that came in it. I currently like the mage and scout class. Although the mage class is so easy compared to the scout class. I don't think I like it as much as I liked LotRo, but the customization of LotRo is really unbeatable. |
I'm playing Aion at the moment.
However, I lost my free trial a long time ago (had the Limited Collector's Edition) and fiance doesn't have his copy. So I decided since I'm itching to play the game but don't have the funds to, that I should look for private servers for Aion. I've found a really great Aion private server. Asides from a few quests not working, and crafting/summoned pets not yet implemented...everything else is working and runs smooth =o) For some strange reason, I level up faster in this server than in the official game even though the experience rates are the exact same lol....that must've been the glitch they were talking about >_> Well until I get a job and can afford to play the official game again -- I'll stick with the private servers. |

Do you play it? c: I'd play the official version but I'm too poor to pay every month. So I play a private server. <3 (Means you don't have to pay.) I love how you can customize a lot of stuff. A lot of people seem to complain about grinding. But every mmo has grinding. And I'm sure they will come out with more features and things to do later. It IS a new mmo anyway. So do you play? If so, do you like it? Wanna share a pic of your character? Would you play the private server with me? I need friends to play with on there :'D Don't know about Aion? Just go to youtube and type AION ONLINE and start watching. |

So far, people say the best server is AIONINFINITY Although I'm having trouble with errors on it right now D< But it's different for everyone c: |

You just follow the guides and download what they say and put it where they say.
You have to make sure you have winrar. I'm still in need for friends on Aion. c: |
