PC vs Mac

PC Always wins Forever

ainebella 09-16-2009 11:01 PM

PC, Mac to me is too confusing.

Jezriel 09-16-2009 11:34 PM

Boy is this an outdated conversation. >.>'

Macintosh USED to be an amazing product, solid system programming using less space and fewer bugs, little to no hardware problems.... and then the company started making bad decisions. Now Apple seems to be only good for the 'i' industry. *sigh*

I went PC years ago, when my iMac finally died after long and hard use. No one was available to help me repair it. So I built my own PC and installed the bug-a-riffic Windoze on it. They're ALL 'Evil Corporations' so it doesn't really matter.

I like Mac better, but Windows fits my budget better.

If I ever won the lotto, it would be Mac all the way.

I think I like PCs more. MACs get annoying with the lack of software.
If I had bought a MAC a long time ago, I probably would have liked it a lot, but all my work and stuff is saved in different formats now so it would be annoying to switch.

MACs are crazy confusing. I love PCs and I already have my college laptop. I'd rather have a PC because things just seem so much easier, period.

I don't know: frankly, I'm pretty darned sick of Microsoft and all the headaches, but I don't know enough about Macs to make an intelligent decision. I'm going open source on my next machine, which makes me nervous enough. I guess I'd better learn about Mac huh? If a friend was asking my advice about which to buy, I'd say PC, because I could fix it.

Sir.Spoon 09-17-2009 12:54 AM

Oh no! I can't stand the Mac bashing! I love my Mac Book! it's what I'm using right now.
It's so nifty and neat and personal.
...you just have to hold one to love it...

hillary84 09-17-2009 01:03 AM

I miss my old Macbook:cry: But I love my Pc. Can I be both?

Sizzla 09-17-2009 01:05 AM

This actually belongs in the Computers subforum under Media, so I'm going to move it on over there.

But I've had Macs for almost 8 years now and will never switch back to a PC. NEVER. There are no headaches, and I don't play games on my computer, so I don't care about a lack of software.

Let it be known that I have used PCs all my life. The rest of my family uses them (or at least my father does...my mother rarely uses a computer), and it all but goes without saying that they're what we use at work.

At home, however, I am the only Mac user in the house - I rarely touch any of the other computers in the house. I love this computer to death and would never dream of going back to a PC-only household.

Though, I'll tolerate Windows...when I have to. I know my way around, I know how to work it just fine, I even know how to fix a lot of common problems...and a substantial number of uncommon ones (thanks to my mother figuring out how to do some pretty...odd things to my dad's PC and leaving me to fix them).
This experience only makes me dislike it more. >__>;

The last PC that was mine (and I use the hell out of my computers) ran on Windows XP, lasted me...roughly a year and a half in total, started giving me trouble despite regular (at least weekly) system maintenance and daily virus/spyware/what-have-you sweeps after the first two months, and took approximately half an hour to boot by the time my current machine came along to relieve it.

That said, I pretty much can't play games on my computer for medical reasons (and even if I could, there's always Boot Camp/Parallels/VMWare Fusion for that - best of both worlds ;)), so I don't worry about the shortage of software. My main purpose for my computer is internet/networking and creative work, and there's no shortage of software for that available to me.

So yes, Macs all the way for me.

I prefer the PC, only because I like the ease of upgrading, there are more programs made for the PC and the PC is generally the first to get anything with Mac coming afterwards.
Plus, PCs are cheaper in terms of cost when compared to a Mac that has the same specs.
