Just Asking.....

Do you think that your days are moving faster than when they were when you were younger?

Just trying to get some data for a little science project.
: )

-Carolyn- 09-30-2009 09:16 PM

Yea, I think so...
I have work and school to get through & it seems like there's never enough time.
Though, sometimes it seems like forever... waiting for something to happen.

Amicus 09-30-2009 09:22 PM

I don't know... I don't remember my younger days well. I think actually my days might be going slower. From what I remember, five minutes back then seemed like two seconds. Time flies when you're having fun. XD Now though it seems like my days just drag on and on...

Axel Von Headbanger 09-30-2009 09:29 PM

an internet forum is an unreliable source for viable scientific information

DjErebus 09-30-2009 09:44 PM

It can be, depends on what you are gathering information for.

As for me, Yes. Days definitely seem to fly by faster.

Amicus 09-30-2009 09:44 PM

@Axel; That may be so, but not always. There are a lot of good, honest people on here that want to participate. Science holds no limits to where you collect information from. Walking the streets is a less effective way in my opinion, and asking around usually gets you laughed at as it is. The internet seems a nice choice if you ask on the right site.

Axel Von Headbanger 09-30-2009 09:46 PM

but if you were to present a formal report on an experiment with information gathered from an internet forum such as this one it would be dismissed as scientificly unreliable.

Amicus 09-30-2009 09:51 PM

Even so, people on an internet forum are still people. And even if it was dismissed, information, no matter if it's dismissed or not, is a very valuable part of any research. It can help you create theories and figure out how to better phrase things. It can even point you in the right direction to hunt for valid information.

Axel Von Headbanger 09-30-2009 09:54 PM

ok. that's an agreeable statement. if the gathered internet information were compared to other information it could be an aspect of the experiment so i suppose that to a certain degree internet forum information could be valuable

Amicus 09-30-2009 10:00 PM

;) At least you can see our point.

Days are longer Years are shorter...And Why? BEACUSE: we're not living anymore, only breathing.

NightshadeNox 09-30-2009 10:07 PM

Yes, I think life is passing by faster the longer you live. or maybe the other way around. :insane:

Yes, my days are faster than they were than before. I miss those slow days of childhood.

ElendarSilvermoon 10-01-2009 02:07 AM

Now that I'm not under extreme amounts of stress it seems like the days are going by slower for me, which is a good thing. I get panicky and all sorts of nasty little things when I'm stressed and it feels like there aren't enough hours in the day to even eat. Now that it's winter time I have fewer hours at my day job (fast food) which gives me more hours of the day to work on music (my hopeful career)

Superga 10-01-2009 05:35 AM

Yeah, in general I feel like I have way less time in a day (may just be because I have more that I have to do and it's not all just sitting around playing all day), and I wake up and think to myself, "Woah, I can't believe it's next week already! D:"
So I guess it does seem like time is moving faster than it did when I was younger and an hour seemed like approximately one forever.

Erailea 10-01-2009 05:38 AM

Ya, I think so because when I was little I was out playing all the time. Now that I'm older I tend to not be out and about as much - most of my friends are either still in college or are scattered across the country (most of them, as with myself, graduated in May) and I don't really want to go do stuff by my self, that's just sad and lonely D:

Scarlett Deny 10-01-2009 06:52 AM

For me it does seem like my days are passing faster, it seemed I used to have all the time in the world. Now, it seems as though I can scarcely fit in everything I want to get done, and it's not like I even have that much I do. Though, when waiting for something it can seem like time is taking a lot longer than usual. But that my friend is called impatience.

Incendio 10-01-2009 06:59 AM

. o. Well considering I'm not exactly old I guess I can't really say much, but I definitely think the years are going faster. Not necessarily days, though.

Dainty Cut Throat 10-01-2009 07:29 AM

Days seem to go by slower, now that I'm older, actually.

I think it's because of my lack of something to do.
I was an easily amused kid back in the day. So maybe time seemed to fly by quickly because I always had that "adventure spirit" to go out and explore.

Another reason could be that since I'm older, I have chores / duties.
Doing things you don't want to do tend to make time stand still.
Opposed to being a kid and doing as you please.

blatva 10-01-2009 07:36 AM

Time is fleeting :) Unfortunately.

Well, the school takes more time of course, but yes, I think the days are moving faster, especially the weekends. But I also have a lot more things to do... sometimes it's good and sometimes bad

Morana Ryuu 10-01-2009 02:03 PM

Definitly, especily the weekends and holidays. It's almost like we have no time in the day or nights anymore, and now that I think about it, I kinda miss time dragging by

Sizzla 10-01-2009 02:34 PM

Yes, and this is a topic that I think about frequently. I've decided that as you age, a year is just a smaller portion of your life, and therefore feels like time moves by more quickly than it did when you're younger.

At the age of 7, for example, one year is 1/7th of your life. One year can make a huge difference. Now, at 28, a year is 1/28th of my life, and time seems to go by so quickly! I can't believe it's October already.

Batty 10-01-2009 03:05 PM

Yup, I believe they are.. When I was younger, days dragged by.. Now that I'm married.. it seems that time flys by .. :(

Aruka 10-01-2009 04:04 PM

i think that im more bussy today, than when i was child..
that is the reason ....i think
