Casey looked down and blinked a few times while coming up with the right words to express what he was thinking, "You may have lost a lot, but think of what you could gain. You can make new friends, and the scar isn't so bad, it doesn't make you a freak or anything." he put his hand on her back lightly, "Time is meant to be spent, you aren't supposed to get it back. You just have to hold your head up and not let something like that bring you down." He looked at her for a response, hoping what he said made sense and made her feel a bit better. Not that he could expect the latter after what she had been through, but it would be nice if he did at least temporarily.
|
She stood up and hugged him tightly.
"Thank you." She wondered what his expression was towards her reaction. |
Casey was surprised she hugged him- very surprised, but he hugged her back, smiling a little, "No problem... I mean it. You shouldn't let it drag you down. I mean, yes, it's horrible and I'm sorry it happened to you, but you cant' let that take over. And if you ever need to talk, you can talk to me."
|
She let go and smiled lightly.
"I will, don't worry." She started walking away. |
Casey smiled and nodded, watching her walk away. She must need her alone time, right?
|
She signaled for him to come walk with her with a warm smile. She was excited for their break coming up soon.
|
Casey watched and then she motioned to him to follow. He smiled, dumped the remains of his food and followed her. "I thought you got up because you wanted to be alone..." he explained with a small blush.
|
She folded her hands behind her back.
"Nope. I have something to show you." She walked to the football locker room and plugged her nose. |
Casey followed, confused. He looked around thinking, 'This is definitely not somewhere I would be... should be... Why are we going in here?' The room smelled of thing high school boys typically did- mostly sweat. At least, Casey hoped that was sweat he was smelling, otherwise, he didn't want to know. "Ichigo, what are we doing?" he asked finally, the curiosity undeniable now.
|
She giggled and hopped on top of one of the rows of lockers. She grabbed a small key and walked to a little wooden door and unlocked it. She opened the door revealing a stairway. She ran up it and got into a giant greenhouse.
|
Casey watched for the most part, looking down when she hopped up on the lockers so he wouldn't look up her shorts. He looked back up when she got down and was about to ask when she went over and unlocked a door. Confused, but intrigued, he followed her into what he found to be a building of plants. "Wow, I didn't know this was here..." he said, not remembering it being there on the tour or the map. "How'd you find it?" he asked, looking around.
|
She smiled and sat on one of the tables.
"I've dated 6 football players." |
Casey walked over next to her and leaned against the table she was sitting on, "You've dated SIX football players?!" he asked in amazement, especially after what he had told her. Maybe that was unrelated... But, she said she hadn't recovered. Mentally, Casey shook the thoughts out of his head, "So, why is this here?" he asked. The location was even more puzzling- a door through a football team's locker room? Was it so they could find their zen?
|
She smiled and shook her head.
"It's supposed to be private. Would you randomly look on top of lockers for a key to a hidden door?" She said with a light laugh in her tone. |
Casey thought a moment, "Maybe, if I had suspicion, but no, not usually. That doesn't explain how you know about it, nor why it's here." he said, pointing out she hadn't actually answered any of his questions.
|
She sighed and folded her arms.
"It's here for...I have no idea why it's here. I know about it because like I said, I've dated 6 football players." |
"Really, and they took you up here because...?" he asked, looking around. Private indeed. He could imagine why a guy would take a girl up there, but he didn't want to think about Ichigo like that. Especially after what he was told. For some reason, he couldn't get that out of his mind. It just wasn't something he could drop so easily.
|
She smiled and continued shaking her head lightly.
"Mind out of the gutter, just to show me something beautiful." |
"Huh." Casey said, looking around, "That would mean... Football players have souls?" he asked as though it was a sudden epiphany.
|
She looked up and whipped her bangs out of her face.
"Yes, I know! Surprising, right?" |
Casey laughed, "Another day, another shock." He smiled, then looked away. A thought popped into his head: the guy who beat her up the other day was a football player. She said she only knew him, but was that it? "So the guy who beat on you the other day, he wasn't one of the football players who brought you here, right?" He just had to ask. Casey couldn't imagine wanting to beat someone up for no reason at all. He wanted to know why the guy did it.
|
"He came with us...but he wasn't the one who brought me."
She sighed and hopped down, walking out of the beautiful room. |
"Oh, uhm, can I ask who you were up here with?" he asked a little unsure of whether or not he should, tilting his head.
|
She sighed and closed her eyes.
"Josh." She whispered hesitantly. |
"And this Josh is an ex, I take it?" he asked, trying to get more information that what she was giving him.
