Kari ran a hand through her hair, dyed electric blue and grown out to her shoulders rather then her chin. It was a change…she wasn’t sure even Kage would recognize her. He had probably looked for her when she left… but it’d been a few years and he still hadn’t found her. She shrugged off the thought, he had his own body now and her running off had diverted her father’s attention over here so he was better off on his own.

She turned as a particularly noisy customer banged on the bar, interrupting her inner thoughts. She rolled her eyes and walked over, swinging the beer he’d ordered in one hand as her other reached for payment. He touched her hand and started to say something but all that she cared for was touching the silver ring on her left hand and saying something about ‘her husband’ probably not being satisfying if she worked her. Usually most assumed it was a wedding ring since she’d started wearing it on said finger and left her alone….but that was not the case at the moment.

Kari’s response was quick and efficient as the band on stage played even louder it seemed to her. She slammed the bottle down on his hand while curling her own into a fist and puling it away from his. His knuckle released a satisfied crack as the drunken man drew back in pain and the other men and women at the bar laughed at his poor choice…most had come here long enough to know better then to go near that ring…or say anything about whoever gave it to her…

“Have a nice day” Kari said with a smile at the seething man, putting the bear bottle down before walking to the other side of the bar. She hummed lightly to herself, laughing as she heard the man call her a bitch under his breath.

Red eyes peered out from under the hood of a pitch black cloak that swirled around Ai's feet. It had been a while since he had set foot around these parts. He was supposed to meet an informant here but that damn bastard had gotten himself drunk and now Ai was forced to find something to pass his time. It had been a long time since he had last slept. He had developed insomnia shortly after leaving the school. That much was obvious from the dark rings that surrounded his eyes, if anything they just added to his dark look.

His hair, once black with silver highlights was now a solid black and it was styled into spikes with a few strands falling in front of his eyes. His eyes themselves were emotionless now, distant, empty. The cross design on his cheek was still there, with a few additions of smaller crosses, three to be precise. His ears sported more piercings and his skin was still as flawless as before. He had gotten taller as well and the rest of him was covered by the cloak. His eyes scanned the area until they landed on a sort-of barlike place. Seeing as he had nothing better to do he walked in.

The temperature in the building seemed to have dropped a few degrees when he walked in and as more people noticed his presence, the noise level fell until it was only the loud music pounding in the background. Ai reached up a slender hand and pulled back his hood and, like many years back, he was greeted with squeals. He tilted his head slightly, lips parted and then closed his eyes, breathing in deeply. The scents of puke, alcohol, sweat, among other things greeted him. Disgusting.
