Kayne smiled politely as the girl followed him out of the waiting room into the corridor. "Oh, that's alright," he said, leading her into a check-up office. He turned to her and said, "You don't need to be." He put a hand on her shoulder and pressed him thumb against her collar bone, taking away her consciousness. This technique quickly knocks a person out and, if added enough pressure to the collar bone, it could very well kill a person. But Kayne only applied a limited amount of pressure to the weak point; just enough to knock her out.
Kayne seated her in one of the chairs and retrieved a wheelchair from a near-by office. He placed her in it and quickly stripped himself of the doctor's coat. He was able to secretively leave with the goddess in the wheelchair. Although he was certain that his triumph was evident, Kayne knew that the goddess would regain consciousness soon. He needed a plan... a plan to indicate that he was on her side... So that she would trust him with her powers at hand. About ten minutes passed and Damien was getting antsy, when finally a doctor came in. "Damien!" she sighed, giving him a stern look. "What?" he asked. "We couldn't find you," she claimed, "you had left the waiting room." "I've been waiting here," he replied. "Well, why would you come here? You're suppose to wait in the waiting room." "One of your nurses lead me here." She scrutinized him for a second and replied, "I was the one who was suppose to check on you." Damien's eyes widened. "Who lead you here?" "Uhm... a red-haired guy with a tattoo on his face." "We don't have any doctors like that," she said, the color draining from her face. Damien gawked at her and asked, "Are you telling me that I was lead here by... a false nurse?" The nurse didn't answer him; she just turned around and walked away. "Hey! Wait!" Damien jumped up and followed after her. "What's going on here?" he asked, following beside her. "I'll take care of it," she said, not looking at him. Damien narrowed his eyes and said, "Well, what am I..." "You just go sit in the waiting room. Another doctor will appoint you." Damien stopped pursuing her and watched as she walked down the corridor. The pressure of fear formed in his chest. He looked behind him and ahead. No one was around. He just felt so... alone... |
Star would have fought back had he not been so very quick and she so very in unexperienced at fighting. She lost her consciousness and was put into the chair, and wheeled away by the man with the tattoo's.
|
With no one else he could go to, Damien ran back to the waiting room to go find the girl that brought him here. Star, he remembered was her name. He stopped in his tracks and his face went pale. The girl was gone. Damien looked around at the few patients that were there. He ran over to the restrooms and grasped the doorknob of the woman's door. Realizing what he was doing, he let the knob go and waited beside it. Hearing the running water of the sink, his face lightened up but then fell when the woman coming out of the bathroom wasn't Star. She gave him a disgusted look and walked away, her nose in the air. Damien sighed with frustration and returned to the waiting room.
"Dammit," he said under his breath. The girl was so desperate to bring him here to have him checked out, it didn't make sense why she would leave with out receiving his feedback. His mind traveled back to the imposing nurse. I bet that Star's disappearance deals with that guy... Damien scanned the room again. But what should I do? All I know is that I am not staying here any longer... He left the hospital in a hurry, scanning the area for the girl. It was obvious he could do nothing for the girl. Damien let out a long exhale and rubbed his head. Maybe he did have a concussion and his mind was playing tricks on him. He so dearly wanted to believe that... Kayne stood by as the leader of the coven, Sven, examined the unconscious body of the goddess. She was sprawled upon the couch of Sven's living room. His bright blue eyes scrutinized the girl like she was an insect to be dissected. "I don't see anything special about her," he grunted, looking up to Kayne. He stepped forward and said, "Sven, I know that this is the goddess. I am absolutely certain." His ice blue eyes met Kayne's red ones and Sven replied, "Are you as certain as you were about the last one." Another member of the coven snickered, it was Salem. Kayne gritted his teeth and said, "Last time was just a misunderstanding..." "A misunderstanding that got one of our members sent to prison," interrupted Sven. Kayne shook his head and said, "I know, but this is more than just a feeling. It's a knowing... When I came upon her, the breath was taken from my lungs and I collapsed to the ground. My eyes clouded with red and all I could see was a shining light that was this girl right in front of you!" Another member, Alyssa, stood up from her chair and said, "You think just because you're a descendant of the man the goddess sacrificed her life for you have an intuition about these things." Kayne shot her a glare and shouted, "That gives you all the more reason to believe me!" Alyssa scoffed at him and returned to her sofa. Kayne turned to Sven, whom was silent, and said, "I know that I have failed you in the past, but this is not like this. This woman was gleaming before my eyes when everything around me was a shadow. She holds potential, I tell you. It is said that her powers are awakened at the day of her seventeenth birthday. I checked the birth records for this girl, Star (whatever her last name is), and her seventeenth birthday is today!" He turned to the rest of the coven. "Is that not proof enough?" |
star started to come back into conscious, hearing odd voices she remained perfectly still. as a member of the guild she had been tried how to keep her breathing the same as if she were merely sleeping. she listened to what they were saying, but it didn't make any sense they were talking about some goddess...why? and why was she taken? it all didn't make any sense to her.
|
"We can't just keep random people that Kayne believes is the goddess," said Alyssa, narrowing her eyes at the girl on the couch. "Someone's bound to notice her disappearance, if someone hasn't already..." She blew her black bangs out of her eyes. Kayne just stared down at the girl. The power that exerted from her at his first encounter still had its effect, but not as strong. Kayne's eyes were clouded with red, and the girl was gleaming brighter than all the others. He was never more certain about anything in his life. Ever since the false goddess incident occurred, the coven seldom listened to whatever he said.
"Kayne's just crying wolf, is all," said Salem, sitting on the nook of the kitchen, swinging his legs. Sven stared out the window of his balcony. Each second that passed, Kayne grew more angry and more concerned as well. However, he knew he had to be patient, for Sven is in deep thought. "I feel it," he whispered, angrily. "I feel it with every bone in my body. I see it. She's glowing." He turned to Sven. "I know. I know she is the goddess." Sven turned away from the balcony view and met the eyes of Kayne. His red eyes showed desperation, and certainty. Sven's blue eyes showed doubt, but also suspicion. "We will keep her here," he replied. Alyssa stood up and shouted, "What if he's wrong? We could be put in prison, we could be killed! What if he's..." "What if he's right?" said Sven, still eyeing Kayne. Alyssa stayed quiet. "The girl's powers will be unstable... She could have enough power to cause harm to the world..." "Since when was the world a concern of ours?" asked Salem, grinning at his leader. Sven closed his eyes and smiled slightly. "We are part of this world, Salem. It's about time you realized that." Salem scoffed and rolled his eyes. Sven looked down at the girl. He raised his finger and touched the center of her throat. He applied pressure to it more and more, until he was almost stabbing the girl. |
Star listened on in horror as they decided to 'keep her'? what was she some pet? her anger only growing as one of them touched her throat when it became painful she grabed his wrist in a tight firm hold and flipped him on his back. she quickly rose to a sitting position her foot on his throat " I think It is time for me to leave" she said simply.
|
((Have you started on the picture of Star, yet?))
Sven didn't react as he was suddenly forced on his back, with the girl's foot to his throat. Alyssa jumped to her feet and Kayne swiped the girl's foot away, trying to apprehend her. "No," said Sven, now raising himself from the floor. Kayne immediately released Star and backed away. He smiled politely at the girl, despite the roughness she inflicted upon him, and said, "You disguised her awakening very well. You are from the Guild, I presume." Alyssa glared at Star and shouted, "You are not to treat our leader with such disrespect, you wretch!" Sven shot Alyssa a menacing glare. She quieted instantly, but her glower at the girl did not waver. Sven returned his ice blue eyes to Star's and said, "My deepest apologies for my associates disrespect. They have yet to learn how to treat someone of such importance..." The last few words were laced with anger towards the coven members. He looked at the coven members and they backed away into the large dining room. Sven walked over, took one of the wooden chairs of the table and seated himself across from the couch Star was on. The chair's legs were carved of vines and leaves with roses on the top of the chair's back. Sven crossed his legs and said, "Since you've heard all that we've discussed, I should tell you more, since by the way you reacted you might've gotten the wrong idea." The man's words were disarming, along with the strong lace of a British accent. His long hair hung around his face like a curtain, and the rest was pulled back in a braid that cascaded down his back. "Do you know of your significance, Star?" he asked, his bright blue eyes curious. The rest stood by, watching carefully how Sven addressed the girl. His demeanor was no surprise. He was also so very polite to strangers. Alyssa and Salem were both surprised at how much faith Sven had in her to be the goddess they have waited for for over five centuries. |
(( yes actually I;m just waiting until i can get to a scanner then I'll post it for you XD))
Star had been preparing to kick kayen off of her when Sevn and told him to let go. She quickly found he was the one in charge, good I'll take him as a hostage and leave she thought to her self while he told the others off. she didn't care what that women said to her, all she knew was that these people were a bunch of loons. She sighed in impatience it wasn't a secrete that she was with the guild at all " yes, I am in the guild, and as for any significance. I believe your all a bunch of loonitices I'm a teenage girl not some goddess" she told him her anger at this situation rising. |
((Umm... do you think you could extend your post? You didn't acknowledge Sven's questions at all and I'm kind of at a loss here.))
|
whoops sorry one moment >_>))
|
((It's alright. PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS!!!))
Sven nodded at her words and said, "We know well of your affiliation with the Guild. Your skills in combat also served as an indication." He chuckled to himself and continued, "But I should tell you, you're importance goes far beyond just the Guild." Sven's smiled and said, his eyes still fixed on Star, "Kayne, could you go get us some tea and Salem, go fetch me the book." Salem jumped off the nook and ran out of the room. Kayne leisurely walked into the kitchen. "I think you'll find this legend most amusing," he said as Salem handed an old, leather binder book to him. He placed it on the little coffee table between Star and him and Kayne returned with a tray and placed it on the marble table. On it was a decorative pot of tea with matching teacups and plates underneath; beside it were lemon wedges and sugar with a plate of small, vanilla cookies. The china had beautifully painted blossoms of various colors with leaves and vines against a light beige background. The spoons also had a flower handle and blossoms carved into the metal head of it. "Thank you, Kayne," said Sven. Kayne responded with a nod and leaned against the wall. He gave Star another smile and poured the green tea into both of their cups. He squeezed a lemon wedge into it and a sprinkle of sugar. He took a sip from it and opened to book to where the pages were most worn and torn. "'The legend of the Roman goddess, Starfyre, is not as proverbial as many of the other myths, but one of the most curious," read Sven, almost not looking at the pages at all, like he had read it many times before. "Unlike well-known goddesses, such as Aphrodite or Morrighan, there are no prolific studies or books about Starfyre because the only record of the goddess lies within the memory of the man she had saved. Through much searching and rummaging, the story of Lady Starfyre has finally been unearthed. "'In the days of the Dark Ages, there once lived a man known as Johann (pronounced: Yo-hahn). Like many other peasants of the Dark Ages, he was very poor and scarcely received money to support his family. The hardship of labor that he had endured throughout his life made him a weary and distressed man. "'After too many a sleepless nights," proceeded Sven, "Johann traveled deep inside the forest that surrounded the village, planning to take his own life. After hours of wandering, he came upon a stream of white water. Johann knelt down to quench his parched throat, when he heard a voice call out in the distance. As the voice came nearer, he heard it say, 'If you wish to drink this water before your knees, you must first make a promise to me.' He saw within the depths of the forest behind a white light. It came closer and he saw that it was a white forest nymph. "'What is it you want me to do, fine maiden?' asked Johann. "'I am Lady Starfyre, Goddess of the Forests. Promise me that you will come visit me every night and drink from this stream,' she replied. The man agreed and began drinking. After only a drop of water ran down his throat, Johann's thirst was quenched. He realized that this was enchanted water and continued drinking with the nymph watching him lovingly. "'Johann made a trail of scars across the trees so that every night after his encounter with the goddess, Starfyre, he could return to the stream. He kept his promise and returned there every night. The goddess and him talked for hours. Whenever he had fallen asleep in the forest, Starfyre would teleport him back to his village. The water gave Johann strength so he was able to do more farming and taming his livestock. Over the years, his family grew out of poverty and were able to grow into the noble class. "'All of Johann's family were happy and so was he. Over time, he would miss nights to return to Starfyre until he would not return to the forest at all. He no longer needed the strength for work, for he had servants now. After months of no visiting, Johann's strength deteriorated very quickly to the point where he was like an old man in his middle age. He realized that he needed Starfyre's water to not only gain strength, but keep it as well. "'After this discovery," continued Sven, altering his voice to an uneasy tone, "Johann returned to the forest. He could no longer remember the path to the stream, for his mind was delusional as well. He grew so weary that he collapsed and could not move. He lay there for less than an hour, until he finally died. After months of not receiving visits, Starfyre grew very worried. She wished she could warn him about the effects of the water, but she could not leave the forest. Starfyre felt the presence of Johann and searched throughout the forest to find him. When she had finally discovered him, he was already dead. "'Moved by despair, the goddess gave up her life in order to save Johann's. Her sacrifice was a success, but Johann was overcome with grief and shame. With the powers of the goddess now inside him, he made an oath that the goddess Starfyre's powers would be awakened inside a girl on her seventeeth birthday by the hands of a descendant of his. "'No one knows whether the curse still lives on or not, or even if it was cast. But this is the story of Lady Starfyre, Goddess of the Forests.'" Sven closed the book very gently and smiled at Star. Alyssa, Salen, and Kayne all joined in a short applause. "How did you like that story, Star?" asked Sven, his bright blue eyes curious. ((WOOOH!!! YEAH! I came up with that story all on my own! *gasps* Sorry it's so long, but it's so.... GREAT! ^^)) |
star sat and listened to this insane story, for some reason a lot of it rang false. she refused to touch any of the tea who knows what it could be laced with. she sighed " So why do you think i could be this person?" She asked them looking at each one in turn, in truth she was memerising they're faces just in case. she knew boss would be on her trail soon enough if not already.
mean while in the guild head quarters. ...... boss and all the members were playing a large came of hide and seek on Boss JR's whim.......... ((boss jr is boss's little brother but since i was to lazy to come up with a better name AND he is like a little clone of boss I figured what the hell XD |
((I was wondering... could at least some of that story be true? I worked really hard on that story, so maybe we could fit that into yours. PM me and tell me about the verson of the story that you had in mind. ^^))
Sven smiled again at Star and said, "Because, like I said, Kayne is that very descendant of Johann's. Once I found out about this coming resurrection of Starfyre, I searched far back into the records and found Kayne. He was but a boy then, but very wise indeed. He knew of what his ancestry held, and was determined to find this goddess and bring her back into the world." Sven took a vanilla cookie and dipped it in his tea. "Kayne has been searching for Starfyre ever since he heard the story from his own father. I sought him out, and we formed this clan. I call it the 'Starfyre Clan'..." He winked at Star and continued, "Yesterday, Kayne spoke of the girl's presence and has been searching every since last night. He then found you.. You were at the soccer game today and he told us that you were glowing with such a beautiful radiance that made everything else dull and dark." Sven took another sip from his tea. "I have to apologize for the drastic measures we had to make to get you here," sighed Sven, shaking his head. "But I hope you know that we needed to speak to you about this. As a part of the Guild, we knew that you wouldn't be easy to handle, that was for sure. But you must know the power that you have within yourself." Sven lowered his eyes. "It pains me to know that you don't believe any of this, but today is the day that your powers awaken." His ice blue eyes focused intensely on Star. "You must be prepared, or your powers could overthrow your own self. Trust us, Star. You may not know us now, but I promise you that we could be the only people who can saves you when the time comes. All of us have put years of hard labor and studying for this very day. We fear what would happen if your power awoke when you were vulnerable against them..." Sven leaned in toward her and said, "We are here to protect you, Star. We only want what is best for you and so that you cause no harm to others or yourself. We may sound crazy, but that does not mean what we say is not true." Sven sat back in his chair, waiting for Star's response. Kayne, who was leaning against the wall, opened his red eyes and stared at Star. You are Starfyre, he said to her in his mind, as if trying to transmit the message. You are the goddess that we've been waiting for for five hundred years... |
Star sighed " look your a bunch of loones, I whole heartedly support any religion but this is more of a cult, whats worse your taking peoples free will away by kidnapping them so if you don't mind I'll be leaving now" She said politely as she rose to her feet. she had been unconceousely(sp?) blocking all mental contact so she didn't hear anything Kayen had just said however she felt something scratch against her head, she thought it was physical and tried to brush it way. she walked around the large coffee table and tried to head for the door.
|
Despite Star's insults, Sven's expression remained indifferent, opposed to the rest of the group's. As Star stood up, he sighed and stood up himself. The rising of Sven was a clear indication for the group to block Star's way, but Sven held up his hand to them. He quickly retrieved a large, flat silver box decorated with a glittery, translucent bow.
"Star!" he called out before she reached the door. He approached her, indicating the box. "Happy birthday," he said, a soft smile on his lips and his blue eyes twinkling. "Please, accept this as a token of my apologies..." Alyssa and Salem glared at the box, perplexed, but Kayne's face remained vacant. ((In the box, there is a pendant and a dress. Click the words to see the images.)) Damien's girlfriend, Alex, had caught up with him leaving the hospital. His mind had completely slipped about their scheduled date after the soccer game. They went to her favorite cafe, Java Jules, and ordered lunch. "So you think that the girl's disappearance deals with that imposing doctor?" asked Alex, sipping from her latte. Damien nodded. Her brow furrowed and said, "I wonder what that is about... Maybe you should call the police?" "I don't even know the girl..." "You know her name. Star." "Still, she could've just left, or something." Damien sighed and sat back. "It's probably nothing." "But what if it is something?" asked Alex. Damien took a bite out of his sandwich and said, "Well, I still don't know what to do. This isn't really an emergency; just a suspicion." Alex sighed and nodded in agreement. |
Star stopped her hand on the door nob she had no clue what made her stop in the first place. normally she would have given them the finger and left ways, however this time she turned around. she was surprised and slightly weirded out that they had gotten her a birthday present. "um...thank you" She said raising an eyebrow. she took the box and left, she didn't want to stay around these looneitcas any longer she was already starting to act weird herself.
Once she got back to the guild house she discovered that they were playing hid and seek " great Jr.'s back" She muttered she loved the little guy but he distracted everyone to much, hell she had just been kidnapped and here they were dancing to a 10 year old whim. oh well she couldn't blame them, no one had known she was in danger in the first place..besides nothing happened. |
Sven smiled warmly to Star as she left his house. He turned to meet the angry eyes of Alyssa. "So you give her a damn birthday present," she scoffed in his face. "Tell me, Sven, why did we not get her right then and there? Why did we not strap her down until her powers awoke? Why the hell did we just gave her a present and say 'have a nice day'?" A smile played on his lips and he said, "So you believe us now, do you?" Alyssa's eyes narrowed and she said, "I still have my doubts..." With a vacant expression, Sven stepped aside as did Alyssa, blocking his way.
"Do not test me, Alyssa," he said, his voice laced with anger. "I won't allow you to sabotage our plans!" "Do you really know what they are Alyssa?" Sven reared his hand back and it collided with her chest. The blow threw her off her feet and into the wall behind her. The whole wall shuddered and several pictures that hung on it fell to the ground. Salem and Kayne gawked at Alyssa's unconscious body. Sven glowered at her and said, "You should know, Alyssa, all of you should know that Star's powers are unstable and cannot be apprehended. When her powers awaken, if she wanted to, she could harm us or as well kill us. That present I gave her is not only a gown and pendant, but the pendant is of Kayne's ancestry. He knows where it is at all times, even if it is not in his hands. Along with his power to sense the goddess's presence, he will be able to pinpoint Star's location even if he is not near the area." Sven's shifted to both Kayne and Salem. His icy eyes sent chills down each of their backs. "We can do no more for Star without risking the lives of the only people who can help her. She will have to figure this out on our own. If we cannot apprehend her, so be it. We're better alive than dead." |
Star sighed as she got out onto the street. she was completely lost, deciding that to walk untill she found a street sign. she took out her cell phone while she walked and called boss.
At the guild house they had to call hide and seek to a stop in order to answer th phone "hello this is the guild house how may we help you?" boss greeted " boss its star get your ass over to * fill street name in* and pick me up" She said before hanging up on boss. Boss hung up on his end "hey boys be careful star's in a bad mood" He warned before he left. |
Damien and Alex left the bistro and they lingered down the streets together. A person with a golden retriever passed by and they stopped to pet the dog. Smiling at Alex, he saw someone out of the corner of his eye. Damien looked over and saw that it was Star.
"Star!" he cried out, leaping over the dog and running across the street. "Damien!" said Alex, pursuing him. "Oh! Star!" They stopped beside her and Damien said, huffing, "I... didn't know where you were! There was this one fake doctor that called me in and... I got back and you were gone. What happened?" Both stared at her, eager for answers. |
She chucked cynically " Oh i jst got kidnapped by a cult, worshiping some goddess who they think i am. They let me go after giving me a birthday present soo yeah" she explained sacractically still very confused and frustrated with the whole situation.
|
Both Damien and Alex exchanged perplexed expressions. "A cult?" asked Alex.
"A goddess?" asked Damien after Alex. "Are you serious, or are you playing with me?" "Your birthday is today?" asked Alex, smirking. Damien rolled his eyes and returned his stare to Star. |
Star shook her head and held up the still unopened gift as proof " I'm not making it up" She said lightly more serous now.
|
The exchanged look of confusion between Damien and Alex turned into shock. "You mean you were kidnapped by a cult?" asked Damien.
"And worshiped as if a goddess?" added Alex. Both her and Damien said, "And it's your birthday today?" Damien stared at Star with a dubious look. He barely knew her, and by the way she acted when he fell, she might as well be crazy... |
star sighed as she saw he didn't believe her " Look I'm not crazy a tad eccentric but not crazy" She muttered as she turned boss had pulled up on his motorcycle
" come on star theres....you just have to go home NOW, its your family" he said the urgency in his voice plain. Star jumped on behind him a tad panicked boss only got this way when something was very, very wrong. |
Damien gave a sheepish smile to her and said, "Yeah, just a tad eccentric. Forcing me into the hospital..." He heard an approaching engine and looked behind, seeing a man on a motorcycle stopping by. Star jumped on the bike and rode off. "Wait!" cried Damien, pursuing them. "Star!" But she was already into the streets and out of sight. Alex caught up with Damien and said, "I wonder what that was about." She gave Damien an uneasy look as he looked off where they disappeared.
Kayne and Salem sat uneasily at the dining table as Sven prepared their dinner. Neither of them, throughout the months they've been with him, had ever witnessed Sven act out on one of them. Nor were they even aware that Sven held so much strength. He was able to send Alyssa into the air with one blow and collide with the wall over ten feet away. It was about an hour after that, and Alyssa had woken up with an aching body and a terrible fever. She sat in her room, wallowing in her shame and resentment. Sven's circle table had a white, silk table cloth adorned with gold threading. On it were two gold candle-holders holding three silver candles on the western and eastern sides of the table. The square plates on it were a light turquoise and the silverware beside it took on the blossom theme as well, with little flowers engraved in the spoons, the forks like thorns coming out of of the stems, and the knives like vines. Each of the plates had a goblet that took on the flower role as well and a napkin in a rose napkin holder. |
