Come on! I could easily pick a few choice words from the thread, from going to your character "not liking boys" to "starting to like" Allen, and then going as far as requesting to be in private with him? All in character, of course.

Look, just pointing out the facts here. I mean, it's fine if your character wants to hook up with another, just don't say it's not happening, when it IS.

Well, I will accept that that is what you're telling me, but honestly, it doesn't appear that way. There are ways to show a "friendly" interest, and then a "romantic" interest.

From what I've seen (taking into account the setting and time period), it LOOKS romantic. *shrug* And, like I told Pietro and unofficial, "I may have been born at night, but it wasn't last night!"

Talitha, I don't know if you're aware of it since you have done it a few times so far, but you keep on using 'there' instead of 'their.'

'There' is a word used for location such as: The book was over there.

'Their' is used for people or in posession of something: She was their daughter.

'They're' is a shortend form of 'they are': They're happy.

I honestly don't think I could have written it out better myself.

This goes to show everyone not only what bad rp is ... because, frankly, while I will admit, I did send Pietro and iUnoffficial a PM telling them to, at the very least take this to a one on one, I did NOT say that they were playing badly (even if I did think it, hehehe....).

BUT, it also goes to show what really good RP is -- taking a horrible, unsuspecting situation, and turning it around to fit perfectly into the story.

Of course, now I wonder what wondrous things the Tremaines have in store for the rest of the masquerade .... Hah!


However, that does bring me to mention something that this is a classic example of: This is just a roleplay. The things that our characters do and say are, hopefully, in the context of the roleplay.

I will always have my characters act how I think they would act or react, based on what's going on. There may be times when my character gets angry, sad, annoyed, happy, etc. Does that mean that I, the player, am feeling that way? Not necessarily.

Clearly, Harper and Selene's "RP" extended beyond the characters. Someone took it too personally. (And I saw the edit from Pietro. He first was mad at Selene and then killed himself, and not only until a little later, did he mention the PMs he received.) Clearly, if you cannot separate the two, and if you choose to do something like he did, IN the thread, that's immature.

I may or may not like someone here, but that has NO bearing on how my character reacts to you. It's just a game people. Have fun with it! ^_-

lol It was a great save. Thats how you can tell a good role player from an amature one. If you can save a role play from a mistake someone else made then your a great role player. If you can keep your real life feelings from effecting your role play it makes you a great role player otherwise you just need to learn. Practise makes perfect as everyone knows.

I'm sorry again for not being on...again. I'm posting as much as I absolutely can at the moment. I'm busy on weekends and being sick hasn't helped that. I'll try my best to be on more often so that Allen has a little more playtime. : )

And Reeny, you mentioned something about some of the characters having already hooked up. I hope you do not mean my dear Allen and his friend Alana. ;'D
I was going to make this a little more clear as the roleplay progressed (And I do believe I mentioned this in one of my first posts.), but now is a good time to reiterate that (HINT) Allen is not interested in girls.

I thought I would clarify this sooner so that people wouldn't get confused later. Although confusion is fun sometime. XD
He did dance with Alana, but it was only to be polite. After all, it would have looked a little fishy if he refused to dance with anyone. He knows what he has to do as a male in Victorian England, even if his actions are a little unpolished most of the time.

There's a lovely thing in writing called "show, don't tell" which I find is something people should really try to adhere to. It does a WORLD of wonders about not confusing characters, people and intentions.
