i am liking it. my DM is really good at making things fun. But we still learn the system so we can improve our character.
|
That's good. It's ALWAYS nice to have a good DM early on, that way a bad experience doesn't turn you off to the game.
You'll have the system down in no-time, too. Before you know it, you'll hardly need to open the book. |
we have most of the book in PDF formate which helps because i can print out what i need and it is easier to find stuff then.
|
That's always nice.
In the 4th edition games we play, they have an online rules database, so when in doubt we can do a quick search. :D |
Well, I'm dipping my toes into the wild world of DMing soon. Been years since I've ran a D&D game, wich me luck!

|
I played 1st edition! Wow, what a broken system, right?
But I still loved it, got me into D&D, didn't it? SO NO HIDING! :XD |
I don't rememer what edition I played,. i didn't pay attention to it. x3 But it was D&D fo' sure.
|
Ah, okay. Well, D&D rules, anyways.
Do you still play any pen and paper RPGs? |
Sadly, no.
I live in a small country's small city that has no RPer community, so the one who introduced me to D&D was my brother, who also was my only GM and fellow player. I was 12 at the time and just learning the basics of RPing it self and what matched nearly 20 years old guy, couldn't fit me. We moved from D^D to Shadowrun and then to Last Suns RPing and such, but our tastes always differed. And then we went on different paths, I got into forum RPing and I haven't had chance to play tabletop RPgs anymore. Not sure if I could do it any properly anymore, too. I am better writer than talker. |
Ah, I see. That's a bummer. :(
If you ever DO want to find some roleplayers, I recommend local colleges (a lot of them having gamer's guilds), and some meet and greet forums dedicated to finding players and DM's. |
Kiwi! :D
I only played D&D once but I loved it. A friend of mine got a group of like six of us to try and teach us how to play but then he and I both transferred to different schools. |
Lawl, I doubt they have them over HERE, in Latvia. We have very small Rped community as a whole.
|
@Vix Viral That stinks! I'm really glad my husband DMs, so we have lots of oppotunity to play.
@Sadrain Awww, boo. :( |
This thread needs revived, especially since it was linked. ^_^
I have not played D&D before, but I would love to. |
Do you live in the states Dragoness?
|
Yes, I am currently in South Carolina.
|
Ah, good. Out of all the people I've talked too, the one's who live in the US have an easier time finding games.
|
It would be really could to have a D&D game on here. We could use the roll dice feature to do it.
|
It would be! It would probably be a lot of work, but still fun.
Do any of the colleges near you have a gaming club? Our local Community College has a HUGE gaming guild filled with tabletop roleplayers. |
Yeah, I bet it would be a lot of work too. I do not know too much of the rules and how to play, but I would really love to learn and start RPing it.
I am not sure. I know my friend has a group of college friends who play and got her into it. |
Ah. ^_^ Yeah, I'm sure D&D could be adapted for play by post style roleplaying, but I'm not sure I'm the brave on to do so.
Have you ever played any Table Top roleplaying games at all? |
That's alright.
Not that I can recall. |
Hmm. They're a lot of fun. Has your friend tried to teach you to play? Or let you sit in on some games?
|
No, with my twin girls, I do not really have the time to be able to go to see the games. I have not seen my friend in quite some time either. T_T
