Golden Sun RP
 

Okay, I have seen two major problems with this forum.

One: There's not one active .hack RP. I love that series more than my glasses, and if you knew me well, you'd understand.
Two: There isn't a trace of a Golden Sun RP. As a fangirl of two of the characters, and a general fan of the series this is unacceptable.

This thread is to fix the latter one. Former I'll start eventually. I have a basic plot and if people are interested, I'll try and deepen it.


Djinni List: (When a Djinni is found, their name will be put in bold italics.)

Storyline:
It has been 3000 years since the events of Golden Sun: The Lost Age. Alex, the power obsessed villain from the first game has finally and sucessfully managed to revive himself from the fallen mountain. In the years that have passed he has bided his time to gain up enough power to escape and now has his sights set on Isaac's power. As the party and their friends have long been dead (and let's just say that even Lemurians from then have had children and left the world ok) he is stuck and in a rage, set out to extinguish the lighthouses. All but the Mars and Mercury lighthouse are unlit and news has finally reached thier descendants. They organize a group of priests to call The Wise One to their aid and he calls the spirits of the heros who saved their land once before.

Alex however gains word of this through the servants he has gathered and in turn uses his power to call upon the antagonists to help fight them. He intends to use this chance to steal Isaacs power, and if he succeeds he will complete the extinguishment of the lighthouses to destroy that world. Using his power he will make a new one. Who will win? Well, that's up to us.

OCs are permitted! Remember, they were called by their descendants ok? We also need a few servants for Alex.

Rules:
- No Godmoding. Especially if you're Alex. xD I know it's sort of in his character to do that but....just try your best.
- Do type out your words properly, and proofread before you post.
- Do be polite to the other players. Just because you like so and so and "OMG! Why r u having them go LEFT? They go RIGHT! And they would NEVER like them!" well, remember it's an RP.^^' Some liberties may be taken.

How this works: Every 5 posts is 100 exp. 200 exp gets you a new level. The gold you get is dependent on your level. Level 1 gets 10 per post, Level 2 gets 20 per post and etc. Gold is used in shops for items, weapons, and armor and I'll be marking what's for sale when you get to a town so you can decide whether or not to make a purchase. Also, when fighting other players, please keep track of your health level and psynergy level. It does count.^^;


Extra Notes: For Rp-ing sakes, all official pairings in the games have been eliminated. (It's been a very long time, since I've gotten to play through the games, but I distinctly remember something about Isaac and Jenna?) If the people playing the main characters agree with the other main character or OC users to have them in a relationship, fine. Otherwise no. If you're wondering how they have descendants without having kids.... they each mystically had a random, unnamed cousin somewhere. Technically by descendant I mean you just come from the family line.

Bio: Runel is 16 years old. She comes from a small village east of Contigo where they devoted their lives to the calling of the city Anemos from the sky. She was on her way to completion of her basic Psynergy training so she could help with this when her town was destroyed by the cataclysm following the extinguishing of the Jupiter lighthouse. She was knocked unconcious during this and found herself in the midst of Anemos Sanctum with a few of her belonging nearby and an illegible note from who she assumes is the one who saved her. She made her way to Contigo and stayed there for a few weeks working for a place to stay before she heard news of what happened. Now, she has set her sights on the city of Kalay, where all those waning to relight the houses are going.
Personality: Hard worker. It's really hard for her to even accept gifts as anything she receives must be repaid. She doesn't eat meat much due to the fact that any life taken she has to make a special offering to. It's just how her village worked. Despite knowing that it's bad, her first instinct is to trust anyone she comes across. But betray her and expect no kindness ever again. Because of her heritage, she likes to study history. The only downside to her knowledge is the fact that she daydreams too much. It's easy to catch her by surprise if she's not explicitly focusing on her surroundings.
Appearance: Her skin is rather pale considering that she rarely saw much sunlight. Runel's silvery hair goes just past the middle of her back, but she keeps it in a ponytail so it appears much shorter. Her eyes are a blue-gray blend. She currently wears black Adept's Clothes and beige Safety Boots, given to her by her brother after his brief stay in Garoh. She plans to search for other equipment in Kalay.
Weapon: Swift Sword. She doesn't have enough experience to unleash it's special, but she's fighting everything she can until she gets it.

Bio: Born in the village of Daila Victor is an 18 year old who has been traveling around the world in search of someone to test of his abilities. He has always been an outcast in his village and had a hard time making friends so he decided to go ahead and leave to hone his skills.
Personality: He is reckless and headstrong but has a strong sense of justice. He is an excellent duelist and always shows compassion for those who need help. He has a strong drive to be the best fighter in the world and is very much out of date with the surrounding news of the world.

Bio: Marsyas is a 17 year old from the fire clan of Prox but strangly doesn't have that blue coloration that most of his clan possesses. This is thought to be because his mother was not of the prox clan. Though orphaned at a young age he has always had a strong connection to his psynergy and is considered one of the strongest men of his village. He caught the eye of the newly revived Alex and has agreed to travel with him under certain conditions...
Personality: He is a strong natural leader that despite being quick to anger takes his time to observe his situation and acts accordingly. Marsyas is a tad bit of a loner and can almost be considered shy because he is hesistant to call anyone friend, but he is very determined to accomplish any goal he sets out for and will do almost anything to make sure he succeeds.

Hey I want to join this RP but I'm curious if we start off weak and grow stronger and how our psynergy works and do we choose classes and have those dictate our psynergy or do we get to choose them ourselves?

I'm thinking that every 5 posts is... 100 experience points and 500 gold. 200 exp gets you a new level? I'd have to think it out a bit. If when we reach page 12 or so (If more come ^^; ) then I think I'll up it or something. It really depends. Once I figure out how many are actually joining and the little details I'll let you know. I plan on having Items sellable and naming towns that we come across. Everything will be worked out eventually. But your character cannot be higher than level...6(?) when we first start RP-ing.

By the way, do you want to help Alex or work with the Wise One?

Oh, no, don't worry.^^ Um, since we're starting off at Level 5 max, we're still in the basic class for each alignment. As Djinn appear, you can change your class and yes, the class reflects your psynergy abilities. The person who you're related to dictates which class you start off with, howeve if you're unrelated you can pick whichever of the six basic classes, although only the Mars and Mercury Adepts have two they can choose from at the start.

And ok. I'll add you to the Protagonist section as an 'eventual protagonist'. :3

Um...It should be fine to have your agility like Jenna's. I'll add the info to your profile.^^ By the way, what level do you want to be?

Welcome, and changed.^^ I think we can just start now. Not many seem too interested in this atm...and it'll take a bit of time for you to get from Prox to Kalay. So I'll just say the summoning of the former heroes is taking time. Um...I think I'll play Alex too for now, so start whenever you're ready.

Traveling with a stranger as told by the Elders of Prox to do so, Marsyas began studying Alex trying to figure out how a man who said he was older than he Elders of his village could appear to be barely older than himself. Marsyas was a leader by nature but understood that sometimes to be a good leader you must follow and therefor agreed to travel with this stranger on a quest he had yet to even be filled in about. "Alex, we've been traveling for days and you have yet to give me our destination... where are we going?" he said with an irritated tone.

((...um, fixed for real this time. xD I'll edit this with my RP text in a little bit. Gotta get out of class first.))

Alex gave Marsyas a sidelong glance and before looking forward and replying. "We are going to find the rest of our party. We need a ship to take us to Atteka near Angara. It is there that we will find the first.

Syas didn't like such a cryptic answer but figured that if he was to understand it would be better to just accept it and go along with him for the time being... "Fine" He said with a slightly irritated tone, "I won't question you anymore on the way to Atteka... after you answer me these questions... Who exactly are we going to get and how many people do you plan on bringing along on this little errand of ours? I haven't exactly been told what's going on."

Alex sighed mentally. He liked it better back when they didn't question him. Actually, he liked it better when he could travel solo period. But he needed the adept for now and wouldn't risk losing his assistance. "Fine. We are looking for four Mars adepts, all from your village. Normally they'd have been here, but their essences have scattered around Weyard. Once we find them all, you'll learn everything you need to know. Their names are of no importance at the moment."

He paused in his walk and looked up. Strange as it was to see the land without its blanket of snow that wasn't what concerned him. He could feel power close to his own around. He warped to a higher ledge to survey the area and warped back down when he could find no one. That feeling of being watched still had not left him and he hoped that the Wise One had not realized his intentions. If he countered too soon.... "We'll continue on past that cliff face then rest for the night."

"Thank you!"

Runel waved goodbye to the family that she had been staying with for the time after the destruction of her village. For one last time she stopped at Anemos Sanctum to offer up a prayer for the adepts in the sky...and for her lost family. She entered the eastern forest. It was the only way to get to the place she had been hearing so much about from the recent traders. She spotted a pack of monsters and headed over to make short work of them. She still couldn't get her sword to unleash, and this was a perfect chance to test her experience now.

Syas could tell that Alex was annoyed and decided that the explaination that he had recieved was more than adequate. The young man noticed that Alex was on edge about something but decided it was best to just sit back and relax. Thinking about the four Mars adepts that Alex could be talking about he thought of some ancient legends that his tribe held, but surely Alex couldn't be refering to them could he? Either way Syas knew that he needed to get stronger, since he didn't completely trust the Mercury adept he was traveling with and there might come a time he needed to fight to excape. So he began meditating to hone his psynergy abilities.

Using his power now would be dangerous, considering the Wise One was very good at sensing alchemic presences, but Alex was getting restless. What good was having as much power as he did and being unable to make use of it?! If only that boy had not gotten in his way... Isaac, the Venus adept. The one who had stolen the power of the Mars lighthouse and with it his chance to remake the world. It had been far too long to find him alive, even considering the Lemurians might have shared with him their life giving water. How could he obtain the power now? Until he could figure out where it went, he wouldn't extinguish the Mars lighthouse lest it disappear completely from Weyard. It would be saved for last.

A dark smile reached his lips. How ironic. Again, it would be the last destination in his journey. But this time, things would end differently. The Wise One would not get the best of him this time.

Alex moved away from the meditating adept and leaned against the cliff face to sleep. Soon...everything would fall into place..

Runel caught her breath from the battle, and frowned in frustration at her sword. She still wasn't quite there...

"..."

An almost inaudible sound caught her attention and she whirled around, preparing to fight. When she heard it again, rather that being aggressive, it sounded like something was in pain. "Hello...? Is something there?" She walked forward into the sunlight made visible by a clearing. "Hello?" A purple...thing... was half-buried in the ground beneath a tree. It's legs were twitching and it kept making the sound from earlier. She walked over and began pulling on its legs until it finally popped free. 'Thank you adept.' "...did you just speak?" 'I am a Jupiter Djinn. You Mind Read, we do the opposite: Project. My name is Whorl. Originally I was in the Jupiter lighthouse, but something disturbed it, and I was ejected by a wave of power. Ever since then I've been stuck in the earth. In thanks for helping me, I'll help you. Summon me as needed.'

The djinn took a step back and turned into miniature purple lights that swirled in the air and rushed into her. She blinked a few times, not entirely sure of what had just happened, but feeling stronger for it. Runel knew of the djinni, but she had always expected them to be a little less cute for something that was supposed be so powerful. She shook her head and continued walking on.

((Gah, I realized I forgot to list the djinn! >_< I'll fix that. Remember to check to see if the area you're in has them as they're necessary to attain some of your class's stats.^^' ))

Syas awoke from his meditative state to some strange gnawing noises. He quickly surveyed his surroundings and noticed Alex was asleep and decided he would investigate himself. He walked out of the cave he and his companion were residing in for the night and followed the sounds to another cave. Once Marsyas entered the cave he found a group of four goblins causing a ruckus. Seeing a figure at the door the goblins charged instinctively.

Syas pulled out the Fire Brand in his right and the Burning Sword in his left and braced himself for the impending brawl thinking to himself "I've been needing some training!" Then the next moment the young Mars adept crossed his blades in a X shape and decapitated the 1st goblin in one clean stroke. The other three, witnessing this feat, suddenly went berserk at the defeat of their ally and moved to surround the boy. Thinking on his feet, Marsyas was prepared for an all out assault... then it came. Marsyas had excellent swordsmanship and was parrying and sidestepping all of the goblins' strikes because they were sloppy, not to include erratic, but he could do this forever. He was getting tired and he needed to think of something quick. He then began taunting the beasts. Frustrated after realizing that they were having no luck with their reckless onslaught and being taunted the goblins all swung in unison. This was the opportunity Syas had been looking for. He leap acrobatically into the air and launched his Fire attack at the three remaining goblin and burned them alive.

"That was a good workout. I wouldn't have been able to hold out too much longer, lucky for me they took the bait and gave me that opening when they did. I need to work on releasing the abilities of these blades otherwise I'll never be able to accomplish my goals. I don't have time to be wasting on worthless opponents like that."

Then, exhausted as he was, the adept made his way back to their dwelling to sink into a slumber on this cool frantic night.

"...!!" Alex awoke choking and clawing at his own throat. He had dreamed again of the moment he was crushed by the rocks of Mt. Aleph. The suffocating feeling that had hit him then still haunted him. A mumbled curse to the Wise One slipped out of his mouth with a slight scowl. That worthless hunk of rock would pay soon enough, along with the Venus adept that had so casually taken what was rightfully his. All those years of planning...

Shaking his hair from his eyes, Alex stood and warped to the upper cliff area. He floated for a moment, gazing out towards the sea when a far off glint caught his eye. A trading ship wasn't far off from the coast... By the next afternoon it would arrive. He warped back down to the camp and took a seat to meditate. If he couldn't use his power normally, this was the best way to let the excess energy out...

((Did you want me to pick up and play as a companion of your other character? and thanks for the djinn list it helps alot but are we going to go literally by the book on the locations of the djinn or does it matter to you? If its not too much to ask but could you put up a link for the items such as weapons and armor? if not its fine and the last thing I want to ask, sorry for all the questions is will the ability of the weapons we hold match our elemental alignment or will they match the story's because if so I may need to "find" some new weapons...))

Syas had slept well that night and awoke bright and early that next morning he decided to take his Burning Sword out for some training in order to master the hidden technique with it. Alex hadn't awaken yet as the sun was not up all the way yet. He grabbed the blade and left the cave to train. When the adept had found a suitable area for his training he began practicing his swordsmanship. He swung his blade around for a while and realized he was getting nowhere. Then he sat down to meditate and he heard a voice.

'Wielder of the Burning Sword you shall only obtain what you seek if you become one with the will of the blade. The Burning Sword is powerful but will only answer to the beckon of a master who is willing to stand up to those in his path without hesitation.'

Marsyas was taken off guard by the voice but was willing to accept this pact, "If this is the will of the Burning Sword I am in accord with those conditions and will without fail follow through with my part of our contract."

Then the voice, hearing the boy's reply, said, 'Very well... to unleash the power of the Burning Sword speak the words "Blaze Rush" and it shall answer to your call.'

"Thank you." the boy said humbly as he rose to his feet. 'I wonder if all mystical blades have conditions?' he thought to himself. Then he picked up the Masamune and called out "Blaze Rush" and the sword began to glow and he felt a surge of energy rush through his hands and the blade released psynergy that looked like white flames. The attack made contact with a plateau and scorched the side causing it to collapse.

Marsyas smiled a satisfied smile to himself and walked back to the camp where he had left Alex in a meditative state. Soon it would be time to continue their odyssey since the sun was just peaking over the horizon.
