I'm still searching for my religion, and I have been to church before. My cousin is a minister, and he said he'd pick out some passages for me. :D

After having to take New and Old Testament, I know more about the Bible than I care to haha
Personally, I like the Song of Songs which is not included in the Biblical canon because way back when when the church were picking and choosing which books should go in the Bible and Song of Songs was not included, though it's love songs (which is what it's mainly composed of) are quiet interesting... That and of course Pslams and Proverbs are a good read. Other than that, I don't have much desire to read the stories of the Bible. I find Homer's Illaid and Odyssey are much more entertaining reads of ancient literature. |
I have read it. It's one of those things where I really wonder if the people who are a part of the religion it belongs to have actually read it. Because if they did, they would not go to church. |

Actually Song of Songs is in my Bible. I love it! It really shows what a work of Poetry the Bible is as well as being most influential, world changing book in history. I've not read everything in it and everything in it is something to learn from. Even the bad things that are recorded. Not everything is happy happy times Nyx. But I have faith in the God it testifies of that it is the way it is suppose to be the way it's shown and I depend on Jesus for the rest. |

Yep, there is something to learn alright. We will put it this way, how many times do you think the Catholic church has changed the bible you are reading? Why is it that the life of Jesus as depicted in the bible, mirrors that of several gods and demigods created thousands of years before the bible or the supposed birth of Jesus? We can learn from real examples. There are plenty of them in the world. There isn't any real need to read from such an archaic piece of literature to tell us how to live our lives. A lot of it doesn't apply to people today anyways. It's silly, really. |
