I am fairly new as well but so far have discovered that most everyone is really nice, and eager to help. So don't be afraid to ask questions or to try and make friends!
I see you have already discovered games as a way to make money to buy clothes. The other main way is by posting. The more you write, the more gold you get, so pretend you are writing a novel ;)
