Holly didn’t speak a word. At the Priestess’ place she simply looked down silently. What was she suppose to say. ‘It’s not you that makes things complicated, but I swear if he hates me for this I’m going to come an kill you.’ That she meant, even if it took a while to happen. If Fayne got mad at her for this Holly would never forgive herself. ‘Breath Holly, he’s going to be happy. Maybe not at first but he loves you. He can’t stay mad at you forever.’ Her breathing slowed slightly. “Yes, I hope it’s a good surprise.”
Her voice deceived her. Holly tried to look confident on the outside but her voice shook badly. Was this wrong? Maybe she shouldn’t agree. No, Selk wouldn’t tell her something that would hurt Fayne. Would she? “Fayne’s not going to be hurt in any way, right?” She asked looking at Selk and the Priestess, pretty much she was just stalling. “When exactly is he going to be able to see again? Does he have to come here? Can I come with him? Selk, what if he hates me!” |
"Holly," Selk paused in her looking over the contract, turning to face the vampire. "If he loves you as much as you love him, he wouldn't be mad, now would he?" The matron extended a hand toward Holly, and gave her shoulder a gentle squeeze. "He will regain his sight by the end of the day, dear. It's a process that only the magic-fluent house members can witness and oversee. I regret to say that both you and I will need to wait outside while they work with him."
Her purple eyes filled with sympathy. "You don't have to do this, Holly. I don't want to force you into it." The priestess merely reached for a pen, a long stick of black stone which she dipped into an ink well before testing it on a scratch piece of paper. Satisfied, she glanced back to Holly, holding the pen out to her. Selk smiled encouragingly. "The choice is yours, Holly." |
“Can I at least see him before? I know it sounds stupid but, I don’t want him to think that you made me do it. He will, I know he will. Then he wouldn’t ever trust you. I don't want that to happen. I want him to trust you.” Holly took the pen slowly. “You’re not forcing me to do anything. I wouldn’t ever do this if I didn’t think it was a good idea.” Her hand shook as she read the contract before signing her name at the bottom of the paper and whispering “Please don’t be mad.” Handing the pen and paper to the priestess she stepped back. “Selk, if this were Vik would you do the same thing?” Her voice was weak, her body shook, and tears threatened to come out of her eyes. How could she have done that? If it were anyone other than Fayne, she wouldn’t feel so bad. But it was him, she couldn’t change her mind now.

Selk paused, and then slowly nodded. "I would," she said quietly, a smile making its way onto her face. "If it were Vik, I would do whatever I could to help him." The dark elf nodded to the priestess, who in turn bowed to the both of them before taking the contract from the table and tucking it under her arm. "I think you've done the right thing, dear."
When the vampire requested she see Fayne, the matron nodded without pause. "Of course you can, Holly. I'm not keeping him from you!" She laughed. "I'm only doing what I can to make him trust me, to get his sight back." |

((well, Selk got eaten by Vik. :XD lol, and she is making a deal with Holly that will fix Fayne's sight. Uhm. Nothing much has happened. It's the next day . . . oh, and our newcomer Sophie was captured by a drow named Marr. *laugh* I don't quite remember what was going on with Neam and her friend . . . :XD))

Holly smiled slightly. At least someone else would to the same thing. Fayne couldn't get mad. "What happens now?" She asked feeling a bit more confident. ‘Everything will be fine. Don’t turn into Fayne. It’s okay to trust the Matron. Her body stopped shaking and her voice became calmer. “This would be so much easier if it were Vik. Although I don’t think there has ever been a half vampire that was blind…I could gladly change that though.” A giggle came from her mouth. “Isn’t it funny how I don’t like Vik and you do, but I like Fayne and you don’t?” |
Selk chuckled. "Such is the way of the world. Someone has to like them, yes?" The matron linked arms with Holly, grinning. "Now we wait. If you want to see Fayne, I would suggest doing so now. The process will take a while, and we won't be able to see him until it's finished." Stepping out of the room and back up the stairs, the dark elf took a deep breath, letting it out slowly. "I do hope this helps him trust me more. I don't want this to backfire." Selk wrinkled her nose, and then released her friend's arm. "Go see him. Try not to talk about it too much . . . he is a bit sensitive, as I'm sure you've found, about his sight. The priestess will take care of the explanation for us."

Sophie Woke up shivering, was that dream real?she thought, standing up, utterly frightened. She walked over to where Marr was and lay down beside him, curling up and going to sleep again.

Marr gasped, his eyes flying open. He was about to turn about and kill the girl, but then he felt her form against his back . . . and knew she was too small to be anyone but Sophie. As she curled up against him, the dark elf looked at her over his shoulder, his back still to her. She's so small. Slowly rolling over, Marr watched her breathe in her sleep, a small smile on his black face. It's like any harsh movements would break her. She was so delicate, someone who wasn't meant to be there in the Underdark. Yet here she was, right beside him.
Closing his red eyes once again, Marr let out a long breath. And I'm going to keep her safe. |
"Thank you Selk. I hope this all works out too." Holly smiled at Selk and walked to the training room. There was no way she was going to tell Fayne. Not a chance. Unless it happened to slip out of her mouth, which was always possible…She stepped into the room and smiled watching him. It was funny how just a little while ago she felt so nervous and guilty, but now she was excited. Although, slightly worried that she would say something by accident. Hopefully not thought. What would he say? ’Everything’s fine! Stop being a worrywart. Selk said she’d do the same thing.’

Sophie felt Marr move beside her and cuddled into him, sucking her thumb. She sighed softly in her sleep, still dreaming.
((im going to make it morning now, okay?)) Sophie sat up and yawned, and looked at Marr when did I move over to here? she thought. |

"Flick your wrist, child." Fayne didn't sound any more annoyed than usual; if anything, he seemed calm. The student, a teen at best, nodded, gritting her teeth in concentration as she threw a slender blade at her target. The weapon glanced harmlessly across the floor a few feet away. The weapon master took her hand, molding it around the next knife. "Use the wrist. Not your arm." He let go of the girl's hand, demonstrating the action. His blade hit the target dead center - and he couldn't even see it. It was then that the blind male tilted his head slightly, his attention moving to the person who had just entered the training room. "Holly," he stated as though he could see her. The blindfold about his eyes prohibited that, even if he wasn't blind. Turning to his student, the male nodded. "Continue practicing until you hit it." His lithe steps brought Fayne over to the vampire, and the drow bowed slightly in her direction. "A pleasant happen stance," he said quietly, the slightest of smiles on his face. "Are you up for more training later on?" - ((Aww . . . so cute! I agree!! :hug: And yes, it can be morning for these two . . . since they aren't involved in anyone else's story quite yet. But we'll have to let everyone catch up soon! :lol:)) Marr shifted, a slight frown on his face as he slowly woke up. Slowly looking to Sophie, the dark elf took a deep breath, letting it out all at once. "You sleep very quietly," he stated, rolling his eyes in exasperation. "I nearly rolled over and suffocated you in the middle of the night, girl." |
"I'm...Sorry?" she said, not knowing if she should be sorry or not. "well, good morning anyway" she said, giving him a hug. Sophie was a morning person, and loved to see people happy in the mornings. Sophie yawned and stretched "can i have breakfast now?" she asked

Marr didn't move when Sophie hugged him, but frowned a bit. Not many drow were keen on physical contact unless it was meant as a threat. When she yawned, though, the male let his gaze soften. "You're hungry," he said more to himself than to her. "Do you want to eat in the kitchen, or in here?" She was so innocent . . . it was shocking, really. Marr wasn't sure what to think of innocence . . . drow rarely stayed so pure after their younger teen years.

“Sure Fayne, as long as you’re not too tired. I know you probably didn’t sleep for a very long time last night.” She kissed him softly and smiled. “How has your day been? You seem to be in a rather good mood.” Hopefully a better one once you learn what I just did. Moving her gaze from him she watched the girl practice. “I think she’s way better than me. You’d be lucky if the knife made it half way for me.” Holly laughed nervously and bit her lip to stop herself from seeming so nervous. She reached over and took his hand. There was no way she would tell him with weapons in the room. It was bad enough he would have blades with him anyway. Holly didn’t really want to die.

"Umm... the kitchen?"she guessed, rubbing her eyes. I really did have a bad nights sleep she thought. "Where is it?" she asked. she grabbed his hand and pulled him up off the bed "Your so slow" she joked

Marr frowned a bit when Sophie pulled him to his feet, surprised that she had that much strength in her. She looked far weaker than she truly was. "I am not," he retorted, sounding like his feathers had been ruffled. He wasn't used to joking, but he would get used to it . . . eventually. "The kitchen is just down the hall. This way." Gripping her hand, the drow pulled Sophie along, not wanting to look like he was trying to be nice to her. After all, he would draw attention to them if he was being nice in the city. - When Holly kissed him, Fayne felt his emotions suddenly hone in on the woman beside him. Wow. "I may not have slept well," the weapon master said with a smile, "but I don't need as much sleep as a human. I can go for a few days without rest, if I need to." His "gaze" moved back to the girl with her knives, and he gave Holly's hand a squeeze. "Then we'll need to teach you how to throw properly, now won't we?" |
"As long as you promise not to stand anywhere near me while I'm trying. With my luck it would end up hitting you instead of the target." She giggled softly. "When you have a chance, I kinda want to tell you something, but not in here. Oh, and you have to swear you'll trust me. Please don't get mad." She leaned her head on his sholder and closed her eyes. How would she tell him exactly? Start with, I talked to Selk about you being blind. No that would get him mad to start with. It's never a good idea to start with something that would upset him. Well...okay, she didn't really have a choice. The whole thing would upset him.

Frowning a bit, Fayne tilted his head as he listened to the vampire. "Don't get mad?" he repeated, raising an eyebrow. "I trust you." The word sounded strange coming from his lips, but it was true. He trusted her. Holly didn't seem capable of the same darkness as the drow, and he loved that realization. He could trust her. "We can talk after La'iala finishes here. I have a few hours between my students."
As though she'd been listening in, La'iala's blade flew straight for the heart of her mannequin target, letting out a solid thunk. Fayne smiled grimly. "Another success. You learn well, child." Sadly, she would become one of the many murderers of the Underdark, trapped in an endless cycle of evil and despair. Shaking his head, the weapon master chased such thoughts away. "I will see you two days from now. Be practicing. I want to see you improve this week." The youth inclined her head pridefully, a smirk on her features. She nodded before retrieving her blades once again, slipping them into various sheaths at her waist and near her ankles before leaving. Fayne waited until the girl was gone before giving Holly's hand a gentle tug. "Come then. Let us find a place where we can be alone." That place just so happened to be Fayne's room - it was guarded against listening ears. He'd gone through painstaking bargains to have it so. Carefully closing the door behind him, the dark elf "looked" back to Holly. "Yes?" |

Vik appeared from the shadows once Holly had left the matron alone with a malicious smile on his face, "Well played matron, I enjoyed watching you work," he said in a demonic tone. The show had entertained the man thoroughly and had given him pause for thought as well. Then speaking up the half breed asked, "Tell me, Selk, do you plan on ridding yourself of the blind elf?" He had, had a wonder but had never took it further than that. Then remembering his previous train of thought, all in all it had been a most... insightful encounter between the two ladies one that he would not soon forget, or so he felt. The subtle whispers of the tongue could spit poison if need be apparently, and his mind flashed back to Holly's question of if she would do the same for him. Although she had said that she would, he knew nothing of the procedure or its risks, so he wasn't sure whether to believe the sentiment or not. He had a mind to ask but held his tongue to such a question for the sake of personal reasons. With his smile now fading he looked at the smaller woman, his eyes not revealing his thoughts, before he then looked away at the surroundings. |
Holly took both his hands and looked at him for a while. "I went to see Selk. Just as I told you. And well...I asked her about why you were blind. I didn't want you to have to tell me. You seemed to upset about it. But I wanted to know. I didn't mean to go behind your back. I felt really bad...but it wasn't going to hurt you. Or at least I didn't think it would. I know it's hard for you to understand, but I trust Selk. You said you trusted me so please trust my judgement. Even if she doesn't like you, she won't kill you. Not before, and there is no chance now. She knows I love you. So she doesn't want to hurt me." Biting her lip she paused, how exactly should she go on. "Selk's my friend and she should be yours as well. And I know you don't want to be blind anymore. I want you to be happy. Please don't kill me for doing this. I asked her if there was anyway to make you see again. It was my idea. Not her's. I'm sorry I didn't talk to you." She burried her head back into his chest as she had done the night before. He couldn't get mad. "Please trust me. I promise it will all work out in the end."
