(:P

Vik needs to get that through his thick little head.)

Marr frowned a bit when Sophie pulled him to his feet, surprised that she had that much strength in her. She looked far weaker than she truly was. "I am not," he retorted, sounding like his feathers had been ruffled. He wasn't used to joking, but he would get used to it . . . eventually. "The kitchen is just down the hall. This way." Gripping her hand, the drow pulled Sophie along, not wanting to look like he was trying to be nice to her. After all, he would draw attention to them if he was being nice in the city.
"OW!" Sophie said, "That hurts you know" she grumbled, practically having to run to keep up with him, which, after using most of her strength and energy to pull him up, made her feel a bit faint. "Slow down" she complained, slowing down to a walk so she hopefully wouldn't faint even though it didn't help much because as Sophie took a few more steps, she fainted, falling forwards.

Selk glanced over to Vik as he appeared, her glowing eyes filling with amusement as he asked his question. Instead of replying, the matron merely turned away, motioning for the half breed to follow her. She didn't say whether or not she was out to rid the house of Fayne's presence, but her prancing walk showed that she was pleased.
"I need something to eat," she stated, stopping until Vik was closer to her before reaching over and linking both of her arms around one of his. "And then I need to speak with the priestess once again. I doubt Fayne will be coming willingly." The dark elf snorted slightly, sounding disgusted. "He's too smart for that." Heading to the kitchen, the slender woman swiftly ate some fruits and other oddities before snagging Vik again, dragging him back toward the stairway.
-

Fayne was silent through Holly's words, though his tense form gave away his unease. Instead of replying or interrupting, the drow merely stiffened further, slowly pulling his hands away from the woman. She buried her head against his chest, and the blind youth let out a short breath.
"Holly," he breathed, sounding completely shocked. "You don't understand what this entails." Reaching down, the weapon master pulled the vampire away from him, holding her at arm's length while he grasped her shoulders. "Selk is not to be trusted, Holly!"
Turning away from her for the first time, Fayne tried to keep his emotions under control. Running a hand through his white hair, the drow spun back to Holly. "What did you do? What did she deceive you into doing for me?"

Of course, before Holly could reply, the slightest shift in the shadows about them signaled the arrival of others. They were here. For him. Fayne snagged Holly's wrist, pulling her out of the way as a slight click echoed through the cavern's hallway. The dart that skimmed off the ground was tipped in a poison that would immediately paralyze you, allowing whoever shot it to have their ways with you. In this case, Fayne was unsure if the dart would affect a vampire, but he wasn't about to find out.
Multiple small crossbows were heard firing, their darts coming at them from every angle. Fayne did the best he could to keep them all from hitting Holly or himself, but it was pointless. A valiant effort was displayed as he used his cloak to catch most of them, spinning and taking his friend with him to keep her from being struck. It was a well-shot dart that hit the side of his neck that finally brought him down.
With a hiss, Fayne fell to his knees, releasing Holly. No. The drow that came from the shadows merely pushed Holly aside, their Toshiba house symbols glowing vaguely in the darkness. Wordlessly they took Fayne's arms, forcing him to his feet. It was then that they took him away from Holly - and toward the priestess.
-

"Delicate little thing," Marr muttered to himself, shaking his head. Instead of forcing her to wake, the drow pulled her up, looping an arm under her shoulders and helping her along. It wasn't long before they were in the kitchen, where Marr gently placed Sophie in a chair beside a stone table. Getting some fruit and various Underdark vegetables, the male sat beside her, silently waiting for the elf to wake.

Miley Cyrus 06-24-2010 10:56 PM

Sophie opened her eyes and blinked a few times and sat up slowly and yawned, for some reason her cheek was cold. she looked at Marr "where are we?" she asked, looking around. she hadn't been here before, but it looked something like a kitchen area but she wasn't sure.

Although she didn't answer he had understood what she was doing, she had a plan. She was indeed a cunning one although he wondered how much she truly trusted him if at all. Either way she was still a magnetic figure to him, probably because bloodshed seemed to follow her wherever she walked and it seemed that living dangerous was the way to go. Vik said nothing as Selk spoke to him and dragged him along for her to go eat sitting in silence even as she did that. He kept his thoughts to a minimum knowing that too much thinking could be as detrimental as being reckless. His mind had already mapped out a course for him to take and he intended on following it until it either needed to be rethought or he needed another plan. Smiling externally it would appear that he was smiling at the woman's words but he had something planned to himself.

broadway_princessxo34 06-25-2010 02:10 AM

Holly almost got angry at him. "She didn't...." Her breath came up short as they dodged the arrows. "Fayne! I'm sorry, oh God!" Grasping his arm as he fell she cried. The shove backward made her fall and hit into the wall hard enough to make her really dizzy. "FAYNE!" Holly cried trying to follow after him. Unsuccessfully she fell to the floor and closed her eyes. It was next to impossible for her to think straight. Was he right? If he was she would personally kill Selk. Even a vampire like Holly should not be messed with, when angry. After looking around for a bit she came across Selk and Vik at the stairway. "What was that for?! I was talking to him! Why did they do that!? I swear if you lied to me, you're dead. He better not be hurt!"

Esmme 06-25-2010 06:40 PM

((:XD I have to go . . . I'll reply later, dearies.))

Marsyas 06-25-2010 07:23 PM

(Aww kk T.T)

Esmme 06-25-2010 11:24 PM

"You were hungry, weren't you?" Marr raised both eyebrows, snorting slightly in amusement. "We're in the kitchen, girl." Setting a platter with various odd-looking fruits splayed out across it before Sophie, the drow frowned slightly. "Eat quickly. I have somewhere to be soon."
-

Selk smiled in Vik's direction as Holly approached them. Before the vampire was within hearing range, the matron muttered something under her breath. "Fayne has been taken." The second that Holly started speaking, the black-skinned woman shook her head worriedly, a frown creasing her features. "I-I don't understand. It shouldn't have happened this way." Her walk halted suddenly, and the dark elf glanced in the direction of the priestesses quarters. "I need to speak with her before she does anything more."
Swiftly breaking into a light sprint, the matron shouted a few drow words at the guards that loitered about near the door. They immediately broke, moving from her path as quickly as they could. Selk burst into a room beyond, and the guardians over the stairway moved to block both Vik and Holly from following the matron. Forbidden grounds.
-

Fayne awoke from his paralysis not long after he'd been struck by the dart. Roughly five minutes after he'd been pulled from Holly's sight, the blind male woke to the sound of a muttering voice chanting. The head priestess was there, casting some sort of spell . . . that would, no doubt, change things forever. Fayne could feel that his blindfold had been removed, and he had a gut-wrenching feeling that they were going to give his sight back - though it could hardly be called a gift. No! The word barely reached his lips when a searing pain flew through his head, causing him to turn his face away from the chanting woman.
Selk had stepped into the room quietly, shutting the door behind her as she smiled at the caster. Fayne heard the matron say something that he didn't catch . . . and then the world went dark.

Marsyas 06-26-2010 12:40 AM

Vik wasn't surprised to see that Holly had come back, there was no longer any doubt in his mind that something had happened to Fayne. The moment after the vampire had come into sight Selk admitted what he had already known to be true. Wanting to smile he held his grin back for the sake of Selk's next performance as she attempted to sooth Holly, while the half breed watched on with a slight look of awe on his face to add his own touch to the act. As the matron went dashing off, Vik followed for a while until he was stopped by the guards that had let the matron through. Turning to Holly he asked, "So what exactly happened," in a concerned voice.

broadway_princessxo34 06-26-2010 02:08 AM

Holly tried to push past the guards but failed miserably. Falling to the floor she looked up at Vik with tears in her eyes. "Well...after the whole I'm a complete idiot thing. They came and started shooting darts at him before I could explain it. He's going to hate me! She's not trying to hurt him, right?" After pulling her knees to her chest she cried softly. "Please forgive me." She whispered.

Miley Cyrus 06-26-2010 02:32 AM

Sophie poked the fruit "Umm... what is it?" she asked, not trying to sound ungrateful or anything. "Where are we going?" she asked, perking up, finally somewhere to go! she thought, smiling. she picked up a small piece of fruit, examining it "It looks disgusting" she said

Esmme 06-26-2010 02:51 PM

Selk watched in silence as the scars about Fayne's eyes slowly began to glow, a magical marking appearing along the side of his face. It looked much like silver tattoos that spread about the left side of Fayne, tapering from his forehead all the way down to his chest.
"Wake him," the matron commanded, waving off-handedly to one of the other women in the room. A few seconds later, Fayne gasped, his eyes flying open.
He flinched, gritting his teeth and closing his eyes. "What have you done to me?" His voice sounded defeated, full of weariness. Selk merely smiled before walking back the way she had come.
"Don't follow the original plan. I want him alive for now."
-

"Fayne's going to be alright," the dark elf said quietly as she approached Vik and Holly. "I stopped the priestess from doing anything else, and he can . . . see now." Selk rested a hand on Holly's shoulder. "You can see him, if you want it. He's weary now, for the procedure took much from him." Indeed it did.
-

Marr shook his head. "It comes from a grove near the stream. It's safe." The dark elf glared at the woman for a moment before feeling his gaze soften. "If you want, I can get something else." He didn't say where they were going . . . but he did move to sit across from her at the table.

broadway_princessxo34 06-26-2010 10:58 PM

Holly didn't wait for Selk to finish speaking she pushed past her and into the room where Fayne was. "I'm so sorry. I'm so stupid. Fayne, please please forgive me. I didn't...think. You know I tend to do that rather often. I promise it won't happen again. I'll talk to you first." 'Wait, what did selk mean, I stopped the pristess from doing anything else. Why would she have know that something else was going to happen?' She stood right next to Fayne ignoring anyone and everyone else in the room. If they spoke she wouldn't notice them, if they touched her she wouldn't react. "Are you okay?" Gently she reached and touched his cheek. "Please don't hate me." Being so focused on Fayne she stopped thinking about Selk, but was begining to relize that maybe he had been right all along.

Miley Cyrus 06-27-2010 03:09 AM

"okay..." Sophie said, nibbling on it "It tastes all right" she said, eating some more "So, where are we going?" she asked, looking him in the eyes "I am allowed to come, right" she tilted her head, waiting for his answer. she took a bit of fruit and chewed it slowly.

Marsyas 06-27-2010 08:04 PM

After listening to Holly's story he had again poised himself to pretend to care and comfort her but then Selk showed back up and told her that she could go see Fayne. He watched as she darted off into the room to see the blind elf, or maybe formally blind now, then turned his attention to the matron. With a slight smirk etching itself onto his lips Vik asked, "So, what did they do and what were they going to do?" He was curious as to what the woman had planned, and was curious as to why he was still in the dark but supposed he would have a role to play... eventually. Even if it was the one he had come to think he would play.

Esmme 06-27-2010 10:47 PM

While still outside of the room with Vik, the drow smiled at him, moving to link her arms about his neck. "He is no longer blind," she replied quietly, glancing over toward the stairway to make sure that Holly had already headed toward Fayne. "But that doesn't mean he is in control of every action he makes from this point on." Kissing the half breed, Selk pulled away, heading for the room. "You'll have your time to kill, Vik. I promise you will have your blood."
Selk fell silent, merely turning to the priestess angrily. She shot out a string of words in their own language, and the other female frowned, looking disturbed. The matron moved forward, her hands making intricate motions in the air. When the priestess turned her face to Fayne, she let her mouth follow a few of the words that Selk was saying. If anyone could have understood what they were saying, they would have understood that things were not going as well as the matron said.
-

When Holly touched his cheek, Fayne's eyes flew up to her face. For a moment, he was silent, merely looking up at the vampire with a new-found awe. Without speaking, he let one of his own hands move to run over the silver markings about his eyes, the magical scars that Selk had her priestess leave behind. He didn't seem to hear the conversation between the matron and her minion.
He couldn't be mad. Fayne kept trying to cultivate the emotion, but his perception of the world had changed once again. He could see the dim lighting glinting off of Holly's wet eyes, the expression of worry on her pretty features. Instead of lashing out in rage, he lifted his hand to her cheek, touching her as though to make sure she truly existed.

((just in case you missed it...))

Esmme 06-28-2010 03:50 AM

((Woops. :XD I read it, but didn't type out a response. So sorry.))

Marr watched as Sophie ate, silent. It was when she asked if she could come that he hesitated, taking a slow breath. "You can," he finally decided, frowning. "But no one will like it. I want to keep an eye on you." Though for your protection instead of capture. Leaning forward he held out a napkin, meeting her clear gaze. Her eyes were . . . innocent, clear . . . they held no hatred, no fear, and no malice. He had never seen eyes like hers. The though made him pause, frozen for a few seconds.

Miley Cyrus 06-28-2010 03:56 AM

((its okay, mostly people dont read the last post on a page))
"Yay" she said, smiling. she took the napkin that he held out for her and looked at him "Marr, are you all right?" she asked, as he was staring at her. Sophie waved her hand in front of her mouth and giggled, then wiped her mouth on the napkin.

Esmme 06-28-2010 04:05 AM

((hehe, I usually accidentally skip it. . . . :XD))

Marr blinked, his red eyes moving to the food that lay between them. "Fine," he responded, shaking his head. Taking a piece of the fruit that he'd brought for Sophie, he stuffed it in his mouth and chewed, not wanting to speak.
They would do what he was supposed to that day. It was a patrol, nothing new. Nothing particularly dangerous . . . unless you showed off your heat signals to the rest of the Underdark. Marr would need to get something to shield her body heat. Thinking, he smiled grimly. A drow cloak would do just fine. As long as she kept it clasped, nothing would see them from afar.
"Hurry up and finish," he growled, sounding a bit more rough than he intended. He didn't like the thought that she might be alright, someone he could manage around.

Miley Cyrus 06-28-2010 05:07 AM

Sophie ate another piece of fruit " Okay, im done now" she smiled, and started to draw circles on the table with her finger "So where are we going any way?" she asked, standing up.
((me to, i dont know why though))

Marsyas 06-28-2010 11:39 AM

Vik embraced the woman as she allowed her arms to circle his neck and nodded to her words in understanding, still there seemed to be something more on his mind. He had a smile on his face from the news of her plan but after she went back over to talk to the priestess he wasn't sure how well her plan was actually going. Keeping his thoughts to himself he decided that he would be a bystander at the moment since there was very little he could actually do for the time being. He watched Selk's plot unfold with increased interest and wanted her to be careful, seldom did things always go as planned. The half breed understood that well, almost too well.

broadway_princessxo34 06-28-2010 02:21 PM

Tears still ran down her cheeks but she smiled at him. "Fayne, I'm here. I'll always be here. No matter what." Holly moved her hand to trace the silver markings he had just touched. "They're kind of cool looking you know, it could be so much worse. Humans get the ugliest ones you've ever seen. There was this guy who had a black and red dragon put on his face. It was one of the worst things I've every seen." Talking was a nervous habbit for her. Letting out a deep sigh she smiled at him. "Can you sit up? I'll help you if you need it."

Esmme 06-28-2010 04:55 PM

"I can," Fayne said quietly, forcing himself to sit up. What he didn't mention was the fact that he'd been magically held down throughout the time they'd worked on his sight; he felt a few bruises forming along his arms from where the clamped chains had been. But, upon glancing to the stone table he was sitting on, the male saw no bonds . . . so he ignored the thought completely. He was too busy elsewhere.
"You're crying," the weapon master blinked once, tilting his head a bit. He reached out to brush the tears away before frowning. "I know you didn't mean for anything to happen, Holly." Fayne smiled slightly. "You don't hold enough malice within you for that." His silver eyes filled with amusement, and then he let his gaze flicker over to Vik. He never had liked the half breed, and liked him even less now that he was here with Selk. Apparently those you hate end up getting together real quick.
Selk did something. And it wasn't just giving my sight back. There was a price somewhere in the deal . . . though Fayne didn't know what it was.
-

Selk frowned, shushing her priestess at last. "She will be punished for her mistakes," she said in a cold voice, and the genuine fear that slid across the other woman's face was no mask. The matron was telling the truth. The spell that she had forced over Fayne wasn't strong enough - he would be able to break free if he found the will to do so. But, when was that? Only if she was controlling him at the moment.
"You should get some rest," Selk said in a caring tone as she stepped up to Holly and Fayne. "You've been through quite a bit today. I'll send someone else to the training room to help your students." All drow were natural born fighters, and usually focused on the fighting or magical arts. Things would be fine.
Glancing to Vik, the matron smiled, heading over to stand beside him. "Holly, please take care of him. He isn't at his best right now, for it will take a bit for him to get used to the world of the seeing once again."
-

The drow shook his head. "We're moving to the caves near the surface. Where I found you." His red eyes narrowed. "I need to make sure that no surface dwellers loiter down into the caverns." Motioning for Sophie to follow, Marr headed for the hallway where he knew he would find someone just about the small elf's size. Placing his hand on one of the stone doors, as was the custom for knocking, the male spoke quickly with the woman inside, who went to grab a cloak for Sophie. He would pay for it later, or so he said.
Instead of handing the cloak to Sophie, he stepped around behind her, wrapping it about her tiny frame before clasping the front. "Keep this on," he said, frowning. "You don't want to be seen while we're outside of the city." It meant death if she was. Taking the girl's hand, he pulled her after him as he headed for the Toshiba household's front gate, slipping into the darkness smoothly. If Sophie hadn't been holding his hand, she would have lost sight of him immediately.
It wasn't long before they were leaving the drow city, and Marr frowned slightly, having forgot something. "Can you see in the dark?" he asked, looking out at the endless black before them.
